"Came to the pub with a group of friends to have some drinks and a catch up. One of the bar staff was incredibly sour and refused to answer simple yes or no questions about what drinks they had to offer as it “wasn’t our turn”. Whilst waiting patiently to be served, the same bartender rudely barged past us to get back to the bar, calling my friend “stupid” for standing where she was, after she politely moved aside to let him past. The owner of the pub was no better! As they were closing, he went around the premises aggressively telling people to f off out of the pub. The lack of courtesy and manners from the workers is truly distasteful and unacceptable. It’s such a shame as the pub itself has such a great atmosphere. Don’t bother coming it you were thinking of doing do."

We visited on a quiet afternoon, but were well looked after and enjoyed the atmosphere. An excellent stop for a couple of beers.

Great beer, friendly locals and brilliant service! Much needed after a long day walking! Always look forward to returning every year

This is a lovely, charming little local type pub. What impressed me was the fact rhey only had one barman worming (on a Saturday afternoon) and, despite how busy it was, he was totally on top of things and very friendly. Good job! Ver carta

Firstly the outside of the pub is stunning, rugby is the name of the game in this pub, the beer was good, girl behind the bar was super pleasant, and if we lived here this would be my local for sure, has a nice beer garden as well.....a proper pub!

Visited last night with a friend for drinks. Under new ownership and all the staff were completely lovely. We had the best time. A lovely atmosphere and the most wonderful pub doggy ever. Thank you so much for making our night so special. We'll definitely be back

When we visit this pub yesterday for the 3rd time, the service was terrible again. A young man serving was so rude and unhelpful. I would avoid this place like the plague. Every time we have been in it has been the same bad service and we will not be returning for a 4th visit. Ver carta

We sat outside in the courtyard of this pub whilst on holiday last week. The lager and wine were very good. We wanted to stay for another drink but the seats were incredibly uncomfortable and the garden was so sad we decided to move on. With the pub being closed for covid, why hadn't anyone taken the time to tidy up what could be a very pretty garden. It was along with the furniture, unloved.

Called to this pub on Saturday night shortly after 10.30pm only to find the doors locked. The windows were open with people drinking and others we could see standing at the bar. Thinking the door had been closed by mistake we called to some seated customers who kindly asked the landlord/ manager to come over. His response from some distance was that they’d been busy and didn’t want to serve anyone else. Then walked off. There was absolutely no need for his unpleasant attitude. There are plenty of friendly places in Woodbridge. When we visit the town again we’d avoid this pub at all costs.

"This wasn’t our first visit (the previous occasion was more positive than this) but this was really quite poor. Problem after problem, service was poor and just not very welcoming. Firstly, drinks weren’t available issues with draft, but then bottles weren’t available either. So there was a very limited selection of drinks on offer and the staff weren’t proactive in advising what was available. So it was request and receive a no! Secondly, the food was poor. The starters were shocking. Really quite bad. There was a bit of redemption from some of the mains, but we elected to not proceed with anything else as it wasn’t great. We had to wait ages for drinks and foods to arrive despite the fact that the restaurant was practically empty and many staff present. Frequently there were 3 staff at the back of the room standing about chatting, but they weren’t attentive to our needs. They didn’t check around the room to see if guests required additional drinks or require plates clearing. They didn’t check to see how the food was and when we complained regarding a starter they simply didn’t know how to handle it. When the draft beer came back on there was no proactive behaviour in returning to the table and letting us know so that more drinks could be ordered. Drinks were poured in wrong glasses, plates were cleared whilst people were still eating and then not cleared when they needed to be! Simply put the staff working had no idea on what table service should be perhaps they had received no training which is a major failing when the restaurant is part of a hotel. It was not welcoming. The restaurant was freezing cold. The service was really very poor and the food disappointing. They also don’t take dogs which in Aldeburgh is a bit weird. There is plenty of space and the tables are large so they would not be in the way. We won’t be returning."
