Ideal for couples or small groups of friends, the menu is not extensive but has been put together to provide a capable chef a good palette with which to work. "The special starter was a small salmon roulade appetiser. Very tasty and well presented. Main course was lamb, deliciously cooked to a delicate pink. It did not come with green vegetables so I ordered a side dish of broccoli and spinach. Both were perfectly cooked. I gave in to a small slice of treacle tart that was worth all the calories. One glass of white wine and sparkling water topped off a delicious meal. It was very expensive at nearly £80.00. The restaurant is in the hub of the Balmer Lawn Hotel and largely open plan located beside the reception. Whilst the restaurant staff are excellent and attentive the restaurant lacked an upmarket restaurant ambiance and decor were not suited for such an expensive meal."

"Visited for a weekday lunch for our anniversary. The conservatory was half full and wound up around 3/4 full later on, I have seen some reviews that mentioned service but at this level of capacity the service was perfect. Everyone we spoke to was kind, friendly and passionate about the food and wine. We took recommendations from the sommelier for wines and our server for some of our dishes and we were impressed with all of them. Everything we ate was delicious and we sampled A LOT of the menu (3 small dishes, 2 starters, a main and 2 sides) and were impressed with everything. Even ingredients I would usually avoid as I don’t love them were impressive. I didn’t think I fancied any of the desserts but given how impressed we were with the other dishes we took a punt on the tapioca pudding and piggy fours, despite not being fans of two of the ingredients, again, all were delicious. It isn’t a cheap lunch out but perfect for a special occasion. A lovely setting, attentive staff and delicious food."

"Delightful, professional, friendly staff. The food was excellent and very good value for money. We were there for a family lunch, with our youngest member being 9, it was nice to see a children's menu that offered items other than the usual, chips with everything. I would highly recommend this venue and hope to return in the not too distant future. Service: Dine in"

"Not been in the area long so rely on web page reviews. Wanted somewhere local and cosy for my husbands birthday so chose to try the Fleur-de-Lys. We were not disappointed, the staff are really helpful and friendly and the food is to die for! Best liver I’ve ever had in a restaurant Owner is a very charming guy, and if he reads this all I can say is “much better than the Muddy Duck”. We will be back."
