"Visited with my adult daughter after we walked past the restaurant on the way to another which we had researched on trip advisor. The thought of a change from pasta and pizza was too appealing to just walk on by which was a huge mistake. We ordered 3 starters and 4 mains and requested they be served together. The spring rolls arrived first. Although they were crispy and hot, the filling was unseasoned and the sweet but sour dip made them taste a little better. 10 minutes later we were given our fried Pork Ribs which we were told came in a sauce but was served dry. They were small but hot and edible. 5 minutes later came the only dish we enjoyed, fried dumplings. They were hot, well cooked and tasty. Especially when dipped in a little bottled soy sauce. After this, each main dish arrived solo, in what felt like 5 minutes intervals. The fried rice was stodgy, over cooked and tasteless. The Beef was rubbery and grey and the Oyster sauce it came in was thick and gloopy like cold gravy with zero flavour. Next came the Singapore vermicelli noodles, which again had zero flavour but adding some soy sauce did improve this. Lastly came the Chicken Curry. This had little sauce on which wasn’t a bad thing seeing as the sauce was bland and the chicken texture, soft and squishy. Not a pleasant texture at all. After trying a shall amount of each dish, we decided that we couldn’t eat the food but didn’t know what to do about it. Our first thought was to refuse to pay but we didn’t feel confident so thought better if it. We settled on just paying and got up to leave. We approached the counter to pay rather than ask at the table as there was a family of 6 next to us and we didn’t want to cause a scene. When I asked for the bill, I told the waiter that we couldn’t eat the food as it was inedible describing the above reasons as an explanation. My daughter and myself each placed a spoonful of everything on our plates with the exception of the Chicken Curry which my daughter didn’t put on her plate after trying mine. So each serving plate was full as-well as our dinner plates. Everything appeared untouched. The waiter walked over at our table 3 times to look at the plates and could see the full plates after we told him that we couldn’t eat the food. He kept asking what the problem was and was genuinely taken back by what we were saying. He took €4 off the bill still leaving €40 left for me to pay. Which I. Felt c was u reasonable but wasn’t about to have an altercation over it so we paid and left.. It is so surprising to see so many 5 star reviews as this was truly the worse Chinese food I have ever tasted. Maybe we caught the Chef on an off day."
