"We were looking for a restaurant near our hotel and Zum Guten Hirten popped up. It's a large space so it was easy to get a table. Our waiter was friendly. Service was a tad slow, but that's par for the course in Austria as...they don't rush meals. We had good beer, large portions, and good food. My husband had a goulash dish and absolutely loved it. We highly recommend eating here."

Restaurant wasn't any special even if there was a very traditional design inside and some waiters even wore lederhosens. Food was alright and reliable (it came really fast and was still pretty good). Nothing to complain, nothing to truly praise. 3/5.

unfortunately, despite the very good reviews, we were very disappointed by eating. the burger meat was very salty, the beilagenkartoffel from the carving extremely salty (caum edible,) the salat tw. brown and without dressing. only the carving was good.

Essen ist lecker, Bedienungen sehr nett, im Biergarten Traumhaft, hatten dieses Mal lecker Wiener mit knuspriger, wellenwerfender Panade, Pommes und Salat. Vorab eine Kaspressknödelsuppe, Yummy. Früher war Freitags Schnitzeltag, weiß nicht ob es den noch gibt. Wenn man in Salzburg ist, ein MUSS.
