"I lived a long time back very near by but never went into The Treppchen but it was my brother in law's and husband's local. On a recent visit to Bonn I wanted to eat a typical German Eintopf A hearty German soup that serves as a meal), I searched for all the places in Bonn centre that used to serve typical German food especially Eintopf. Unfortunately almost all the places I used to visit had disappeared so I headed for the Treppchen where I luckily found the Lentil soup with sausage that I was looking for. The Treppchen is a typical German Kneipe/pub not only in its décor but also in its atmosphere. There are what appears to be regulars just having a drink or having food. I only had the soup so can't comment on the rest of the menu which was good. The service was good and friendly I was there as a single woman in the evening and did not feel out of place although I was the only single women. If you are a tourist from outside Germany and want to visit a typical German Kneipe in Bonn then I would recommend the Treppchen. Its about 5/10 minutes walk along the Lenne strasse or Kaiser strasse from the town centre. From Hof Garten walk along the Lennestr and turn right into the Weber Strasse or walk along the Kaiser Strasse from the Kaiser Platz and turn left into the Weber Strasse at the second railway crossing. Its small from the outside so you could miss it. Malzeit Guten Appentit!"

Best Himmel und Ard i have had in Germany after living here nine years. Great spot in Bonn for German food and/or beer in a beautiful traditional atmosphere. Many places talk about good traditional food, but this one is more than just talk. Yum!

We went for one drink with colleagues before having dinner somewhere else. They served the first 4 of us a drink but when more came in they refused to serve us! The young waiter felt embarrassed but the “boss” was very unkind! Will never go back again!

The treppchen is a very good and rustic restaurant. Food is very good, large portions and very affordable prices. Here you can also eat several people at large tables. The service is super, helpful and very friendly. Here you can enjoy a cozy and beautiful evening. Ver carta

This restaurant served a great meal and has great ambience. It is a traditional pub that was spared from the bombing during the war so it is in its original state. The food and the service was great. I had the Indecisive Plate which had a combination of several items.I would definitely go again!

I can share the previous reviews. The host, however, is rather a youth hostel. A large cyclist over 0.3 litre was not presented despite the clearly expressed desire of the guest. The host explained that only Andechser was given in the half-liter crisis. He doesn't let a guest write what he serves. The customer is not a guest here, but best a bitter.

The interior look like hundreds of other restaurants of the same classical Rheinland genre, but the food here is consistently good, sometimes very goodOutstanding is the kleinehaxe, a brine cured suckling pig hock deliciously roasted, juicy and very tastyAlso very good are the home made "Sulze" , terrine in jelly, if you like that sort of stuffValue for money is top notchThey expect you to stuff yourself on the apertisers and main courses, so there are no desserts Ver carta

Weber strasse is a pleasant stroll from the main town and and easy walk from hotels. The food was just perfect. It's so hard to find a good German restaurant and the blood sausage was the best I have eaten. Some hamburgers are on the menu - for those not keen on German food. I could only order a main - I was full at the half way point - but finished the lot. The beer is also good - personally I find the kolsch underwhelming, not worth ordering through when there are dark beers on the menu. I found the ambience and service excellent. It seemed to get full swiftly after I arrived - no tables left. So get in there early. Definitely will go back.

The service is fast, attentive and friendly. Here are experienced professionals in the factory who know when the guest wants a new beer, but also if he wants to enjoy his food in peace. Waiting times are all right if you want to look for a fast Carol or spend a few hours eating something. The menu includes German cuisine and, in addition to the Rhineland specialities such as Himmel un Äd, decent, fried steaks, pink roasted roasted roasted roasted roasted roasted beef and Rhein Tapas. The quality of the dishes is very good and additional wishes are happy to be fulfilled. I like to visit the restaurant, because the steaks taste good with roast potatoes with freshly tapped Andechser.
