The setting is excellent, the building itself is historic and the atmosphere relaxed. The menu is traditional German fare but the food was fairly bland and over cooked.

We went looking for a typical Berliner restaurant, and we found what we looked for. The quality of good was above average, but not the best german food. I had better in several occasions. Ver carta

It was a little pricey, and I did not think it was all that good. The inside was pretty cool though as it looked like an old style church with the high ceilings. I probably would not go again.

Good service food arrived quickly. Food was really tasty and a good way to eat some traditional German food. We turned up without a reservation on a Friday night and managed to get a table for 2 easily. Would eat here again.

We stopped here for a beer or two before going to dinner. It's very near our hotel, so an easy walk. We were able to get a seat outside on a nice evening, and enjoyed the garden very much. It's hard to know if the food is good, but others seemed to be enjoying their meals. Based on the other reviews, perhaps we should have come here instead of settling for other nearby choices! This place was lovely, food was just okay. The meatballs were over-cooked, salad size portions not as large as encountered in other places we subsequently visited.But beer was great, setting was great. Price as expected. Service was quite good compared to other restaurants we visited, much quicker than others. They were also willing to serve us different side dishes than what normally came with the dish which was appreciated.

Had dinner at Zur Gerichtslaube last night Friday at 9:00 PM. The outdoor seating was full, but plenty of room indoors which has wonderful decor. The wait Staff was excellent, quick and efficient and no problem with English. Had a tasty pork Schnitzel with boiled potatoes and green flat beans, all was very good. Good German beer and a Williams schnapps completed this very good meal for 21 euro, which is much cheaper and better than I can find at home in Seattle. Highly recommended, and they took credit cards.

a restaurant that eats with 'typical berliner' advertises whatever that can mean. in any case they get rustic German home cooking, and that in a reasonable amount of portioning and almost moderate travel, which is worth mentioning in the location in a tourist hotspot. corona hygiene measures were well implemented and consistently applied. the operation was fast and friendly praiseworthy. for some who could be hotter, for us they had good odor temperature. the architecture is fake, but still fascinated cozy character.
