"We decided spontaneously last night to order something to eat. Although the kitchen has just been cleaned, the team made it possible and prepared our order for 4 people. Super service and mega friendly. To eat it is to say: delicious! German cuisine without finished sauces. We had oxenbäckchen (very soft and tasteful) with roast and leaf spinach, cheese spet with salad dressing as well as muzzles with melted onions and salad. We were all completely satisfied and definitely come back. Simply great last night we spontaneously decided to order something to eat. Although the kitchen was in the process of being cleaned, the team made it possible and prepared our order for 4 people. Great service and super friendly. The food is to say: delicious! German cuisine without ready-made sauces. We had ox cheeks (very soft and tasty) with hash browns and leaf spinach, cheese spaetzle side salad and dumplings with melted onions and salad. "Housed in a century building, the interior of Die Kartoffel is lovingly filled with all sorts of antiques and bric-a-brac. In summer, guests can enjoy their meal al fresco under a century “Gewölbe” (arch) or in their Biergarten. The quirky atmosphere is not...the only attraction though. Die Kartoffel is well-known in the region as a place where you can enjoy a piece of meat like you would during the Stone Ages... well, almost! The house specialty is an Argentinian Black Angus steak served on a sizzling slab of lava stone heated to degrees Celsius. You get to grill your steak at your table, exactly how you like it. The steak meal comes with different sauces, along with a baked potato smothered with homemade sour cream and a side salad. Other meats, prawns and even vegan and vegetarian options are available. Overall an enjoyable dinner with delicious food, good local wines and great service. Note: There is a ventilation system in the dining area, but it doesn't entirely remove the grill smoke from the tables, so be prepared to smell like a piece of grilled meat at the end of your meal!"

"We did it! After at least 10 attacks, for my wife's birthday, we managed to get one of the coveted places. Our expectations were high as the best Rumsteak temple was recommended everywhere. The parking search was a bit adventurous(10 minutes should be planned) but then it was done. We were very warmly welcomed and here you can see that professionals are at work. In order to take up the topic immediately, we are often on the go in the gastro world but such a warm, competent service we have rarely experienced. Bravo! The menu is also very balanced. Not overloaded, perfectly seasonal and from wild, goose, meat, meat to vegetarian dishes, there is something for every taste. It should be noted that all dishes are also offered as a small portion and are provided with a wine recommendation. But the wine card is also excellently selected. As an appetizer, the field salad was recommended with croutons and bacon cubes and was provided with an excellently smacked raspberry dressing. That I didn't get around the Rumsteak was clear, although the Cordon Bleu was also very tempting. My wife enjoyed the Wolfsbarsch with band noodles and saffron sauce and both we were very happy. The Rumsteak perfectly medium rare and the fish juicy and perfectly fried on the skin side. We can only follow all the excellent reviews.For reasons of time, we could not let the evening end with dessert and espresso, but next time. If I should mention something at all, then the recommendation that there are also very good regional beef qualities, as Argentina is quite far. I thank the cooker or the whole team for a nice evening. We were happy and stay with the next reservation at the ball."
