"We had a return visit, having had a very agreeable meal with great service a few days earlier. For out first visit we both had the Wok de Poulet which had a great mix of stir fried vegetables and generous portions of lean chicken breast. The flavours of garlic, fresh ginger etc were delightful. With hindsight, we should have tried somewhere different. The staff had changed although the chef was the same. We ordered another Wok and I chose the St Jacques with bacon, served with courgettes and aubergines. My partners wok was a tomato based fairly tasteless dish, overloaded with noodles and very little chicken - no sign of other stir fry vegetables either. Both dishes were cold and served on cold plates. The dishes were taken away to be dealt with and came back reheated by microwave which served to over cook the scallops, turn the chopped courgette/aubergine side dish into an oily overcooked gloop and to completely ruin both dishes. When we called the waiter back to complain this was not good he simply argued with us, forcefully stating that their dishes were made with what was fresh and available at the time. We said there were no vegetables in the wok and very little chicken and it tasted bland - unlike the wonderful dish we had eaten the other time. The waiter just loudly stated that scallops could be reheated, that it didn't spoil or over cook them. that we didn't understand about using fresh ingredients and so forth. We couldn't eat either dish and said we didn't intend to pay the full price if they couldn't give us the quality we knew they could produce. We were loudly told that we had to pay in full, the food (including the bread, which we had not finished with) was swiftly removed and we were presented rudely with the bill. Including a 375 ml pichet of local wine (9 Euros) the evening cost us 45 Euros for us to leave hungry and upset.We had asked to speak with the manager about the matter but were told he was not there and the waiter did not have any authority to amend any bills. Another couple dining in the restaurant were overheard reminding the waiter they wanted a well done burger as they had heard our food was not cooked properly."
