"I wanted to go to this restaurant for several reasons, not least because I had passed it so many times and it looked like one of those quaint small finds that serves authentic and well priced ethnic foods. I am sure it does. However, I will now never know as I have made a policy not to return. Why is that? Because I called in twice without a reservation and found the reception on both occasions to be luke warm and very unaccommodating. The first time I felt they were overburdened and could see that the small number of tables were booked. The second time they had tables and had obviously kept two for regulars. I turned up with a friend and was told that they were booked. Later that evening I bumped into a friend who said she had been given a table fifteen mins after we were turned away and she had not had a reservation but was a very regular regular. Not so accommodating to tourists I should think. That and the fact that the interior is a bit musty have made my mind up on the affair. Nope, cannot comment on the food though I have heard good and bad reviews, but can state that the welcome could do with some finesse."

"My wife and I stopped at Le Fabuleux Destin for Sunday lunch. The restaurant was busy but not full. We were seated at a table that was not our first choice because the table we wanted was reserved . What they really meant was that they...were saving it in case some regulars came so that they could offer them the better table. Notwithstanding that, the staff was friendly and professional. The ambience was pleasant and casual which was perfect for us. As a starter we split a salad that was a special for the day which was meant to be a meal for one. it was émincé d 'artichaut aux côpeaux de parmesan, jambon Italien (thinly sliced artichokes with chips of parmesan and ham). It was excellent. For the main course I ordered the moules which were good but not great. The broth was really good but its wonderful taste had not impacted the mussels themselves. My wife had a crepe with goat cheese, tomato, onion and ham. The crepe itself was too dry, the tomatoes were pink not red and the portion was too big. For dessert we split the profiteroles. They were very good, but one portion would have been good for three people. The first course came in due course but the main course was very slow in arriving, a delay that was not justified by how busy they were. We had 1.5 liters of sparkling water and a 50cl pitcher of white wine. The bill including a small tip was 83 euros. While our experience was not great, I think that we will give this restaurant another chance. The ambience and the staff deserve a second chance and for the area in Beaulieu the price was not bad."

"A good find for lunch after our 2-hour hike. The new owners (since just a couple of months) seem very friendly and enthusiastic, gave great recommendations for what to choose and clearly delivered on their promise of good food! Me and my friend both chose...risotto with scallops, fantastic. The girls also both chose the salmon glazed with miso sauce, not a huge portion but very good. This left us space for dessert, almost wish I had ordered the tarte citron the others had as it was so good, but I took the recommendation and had the first Cafe Liegois of my life, a good choice I must say. A restaurant to be recommended and I already look forward to coming back some evening for a three-course meal!"

"We enjoyed our dinner here. As reviewers have said the restaurant is small, with some tables inside and some outside. It was full but not uncomfortably so and the small (Seemingly only the Chef and Maitre'D!) team managed perfectly. There is something honest about a chef who is involved in everything from setting tables, clearing, serving as well as cooking. The menu is only in French but they do a fine job of communicating the key ingredients, although there is a little leap of faith in the finer details of how the dish will be presented unless you speak French (buts its France so fair enough).The menu is short - 3 or 4 starters, 3 main courses and maybe 5 or 6 desserts including cheese. This is probably necessary to manage with such a small team and to keep everything fresh, but with a general preference against seafood it was a bit of a struggle. Obviously its a seaside town and that's more my limitation than theirs, but I mention it in case you have the same preferences. The third main was veal - but it came with a fish sauce. That is the one thing I would suggest to change on a limited menu, the cross-over of categories (otherwise it was an easy vegetable, fish, meat choice).The flavours were strong (we still smell of garlic!) but I like that.The dessert was great - molten chocolate cake).The service was as friendly as you could ever ask for. Pricing pretty reasonable for the area, 150 euros for 3 courses (with a shared dessert) and a 42 euro bottle of wine.The wine list is short (maybe 4 choices white, rose and red) and caps out at 42 Euro. The red we had was good and the pricing seemed fair, payed a lot more for a lot less on other occasions!This is a nice place to be, whether its your regular, a treat or a change from the gastronomic restaurants of the area.Enjoy it.Thanks"

"Le choix mais pas la qualité, voilà comment on pourrait résumer le brunch du casino de Beaulieu.On a l'impression d'une bonne volonté à laquelle manquerait l'expérience ou le professionnalisme... Au buffet, le corner petit-déjeuner est bien triste. Une seule sorte de pain (précuit industriel), pas de beurre, des corn-flakes et du sirop d'érable pour agrémenter le fromage blanc (?!), pas de pince pour se servir dans les corbeilles de pain et de mini-viennoiseries...Et surtout, aucune boisson chaude !!! Mais du soda, va comprendre...Le buffet salé est très varié et d'influence méditerranéenne. Mais tout est cheap (surtout le fromage) et sans saveur (saumon rose et asperges vertes insipides).Le sucré est à peine mieux. Des mousses et des crèmes basiques et des mini babas rabougris. Heureusement, on peut se rabattre sur des morceaux de fruits frais, à condition de se servir... avec les doigts, encore une fois. Bien sûr pas d'oranges pressées, mais ne soyons pas trop sévères, il y avait des jus de fruit Alain Milliat.Bref, tout ça ne vaut pas 25€. Je passe le cadre glacial, l'ambiance réfrigérante, et le service un peu maladroit. Au moment de régler, face à nous, le serveur (gentil mais pas très dégourdi) demande à sa collègue (gentille aussi et un peu plus pro) : "C'était qu'elle table, EUX ?". La classe...Un peu plus tôt, nous avions entendu le même serveur confier à d'autres clients : "Le resto ne marchait pas, du coup on n'ouvre plus la semaine."Gageons que le brunch ne passera pas la saison..."

"Had a great dinner here last night. Similar to other reviews, which is why we went, it is away from the hustle and bustle, and literally across from the train station. Parking was a breeze. We sat outside in a covered patio, that was very nice; but the inside seating looked very appealing as well. We enjoyed an apertivo before dinner since we were there slightly before 7 pm. The waitstaff was wonderful and attentive, and funny! We had the bolognese tagliatelle and the tuna, and caprese salad w/ mozzarella, tomatoes and prosciutto. All were delicious and generous with the portions, esp. the fish. I liked that the place served good food and very reasonable prices for the quality, not too crowded or pretentious, and very quaint. Definitely check it out if you are near and around Monaco or Menton. Very easy drive from both places."

"Now that summer's back, and with it the outdoor seating adjacent to the 'working' bit of the port of Beaulieu, I'm a happy customer. This is a place to enjoy in the evening sunshine, outside, rather than within the rather cramped confines of the interior.The rest of my family live full-time in Beaulieu, but I can only visit when my other commitments allow. However, whenever I turn up (maybe once a month), the owner/waiter instantly appears with a very warm and genuine welcome, hastily followed by our very specific drinks preference. No ordering necessary on that count.It's rare you're made to feel 'at home' on the Cote d'Azur no matter how often you visit a place. But here we are made to feel like family and love it. The food's pretty simple stuff, but well prepared and seasoned, and for those of us who can't abide the French take on Indian cuisine (bland, tasteless and no heat), they'll pep it up as much as you like to suit your taste. Value for money is excellent, parking abundant (and free), and the location is so much better than the over-rated, glitzy, pricey other end of the port where you'll spend €8 on a bottle of tap water to go with your €45 burger.I've only used the takeaway delivery service once, but that worked well too, and I shall be visiting again just as soon as the wife relents. Diets? Who needs them! Table booked for this Wednesday straight off my flight..."

"Against our better judgment and because our favourites were fully booked we chose Cafe Del Mare. Having eaten there before and aware that they were big on serving size rather than quality my wife and I chose salads. I chose the Nicoise Salad from the entree section. I fully expected tinned tuna but I wasn't expecting it to be so obvious. Upon a mountain of lettuce sat perched a whole tin of tuna. Straight out of the can. You could still see the shape of it. And a huge tomato cut into 4 big chunks. And some peppers cut to size. Extra large. I can eat almost anything. Especially when I am out. But not that night. Our polite chat to the maitre'd that Saturday night fell on deaf ears. Despite only having two mouthfuls we paid the bill in full and have vowed never to return. There are far better places to eat next door and along. Ps. To his credit the waiter was embarrassed and felt awkward taking our money. He knew!"
