"I have a particular fondness for the Royal Oak. Many years ago, I used to visit during my regular hiking trips in the area, and it's wonderful to see that the pub has retained its charming atmosphere despite its tremendous success and rapid growth as a business. It still features real fires and remains dog-friendly. However, I find the overnight accommodations a bit beyond my means, and dining there has become quite pricey. I ordered a side of chips for £4, but I would appreciate it if the main courses offered more options around £12 or (preferably) lower, rather than averaging £18 to £20. After a long walk, I would happily spend a little more for something comforting and hearty. It’s great to see the pub thriving, and I plan to continue visiting for many years to come."
