"I have mixed feelings on this restaurant. It 's nice inside and feels like a mountain/ski eatery, which of course it is. I had the wiener schnitzel. It was good, but the dish could have had some sauce to add flavor. It was very large and cooked nicely, but almost too much breading to the very thin piece of veal. It came with french fries, which was a surprise to see on the menu and I would have preferred a vegetable or something else. My wife had Roberto white Spätzle with alpine cheese fondue, onion and crispy farmer 's speck, which was quite good. Neither one of us could finish the portions were so large. We both enjoyed her meal better than mine. So here 's the questionable part. Several times while we were there, when diners would leave a table after eating, the wait staff would clean the table, but any silverware that appeared to them to be unused, went back into the drawer to be used when setting the next table. So wrong. Made us look at our silverware, but too late as we 'd already used them. My wife did not use her knife, but she had gotten a spot of food on it and wiped it off before we noticed this practice. Because of that, she intentionally got it dirty again so it would not be reused. We can 't help but wonder how often people get silverware that isn 't really clean. You 'd think having just gone through Covid, no restaurant would do this. So while the food was a 3.5 or 4, I can 't give higher than a 3 because of this unhealthy practice just to save a little dishwashing."

"We stopped at Ristorante Da Paolo for lunch recently, while touring around the Dolomite mountain region. We were the only customers in the restaurant, which was nicely decorated with lots of heavy wood furniture and very spacious. New managers took over the establishment in June of this year and they appeared to be working hard at making a go at it. There were also tables and umbrellas located outdoors for Da Paolo is a combination restaurant/pizzeria, having an extensive menu of various type of pizzas, and a rather limited offering of antipasti, primi (pastas/soups), and main dishes. Pizza is available at the lunch hour, though we decided to order from the menu. My wife had Greek salad for an antipasto. The salad was huge and too much to eat if following up with a pasta or main dish. The lettuce was fresh and there was no shortage of Feta cheese. I had a platter of speck (cured, smoked meat) with baby pickles. After this, we both ordered the Spaetzle with wild mushrooms, which screamed with a delicious flavor. Again, the portion size was generous. We then shared an Apple Strudel which was flavorful and had a nice delicate pastry dough wrapper. All of these items, plus a half liter of house wine, cafe and tea, totalled 45.00 euro. Service was good, though a little distracted when a couple came into the restaurant seeking employment. On a cute note, the owner's young granddaughter (6-7 yrs old) roamed around the restaurant dressed in an apron and armed with a notepad, pretending to take orders from imaginary customers. I think the owners would have preferred the restaurant to have been full with real customers."
