"I am confused by this restaurant. I have lived in or near Maidenbower for 25 years, and this place always disappoints. I ordered the scampi and chips, but the peas were yellow and the whole plate looked like a school lunch. The "hot" chicken wings were not actually hot, neither in temperature nor spice. I felt sorry for the person who had brought us here and paid for the meal. It was embarrassing. Do yourself a favor and instead go to the Curious Pig."

"Great view at our booked table. But that is where the pleasure ended. 45 mins to get half the ordered drinks, then food arrived, all steaks over cooked. Then, the rest of drinks arrived whilst being spilt over the table by the server. Steaks sent back and redone. Thankfully, ok this time. In general, food ok but service, speed, and communication appalling we had a voucher to cover cost of meal thank goodness. There is a reason that I do not go to Smith and Western restaurants anymore. (Only went as won a voucher) It is that they are sub standard in nearly every way. They are what can only be described as must try harder but do not. So, if you want a mediocre meal with mediocre service and communication, then go to Smith and Western. They will not disappoint on those points. Probably not the staffs fault as they are trying their hardest most likely the business is understaffed and Management out of touch."

"Being a regular fan of Wetherspoons brunch, I decided to try out this place for a change. Unlike Wetherspoons, this restaurant offers waiter/waitress service, but unfortunately, I was ignored for 10 minutes after being seated. Unlike Wetherspoons, they do not allow substitutions on the breakfast plate (I wanted to remove the beans). When I ordered coffee, it did not arrive with or before the brunch, so I had to ask for it again. Despite it not being busy, my request was seemingly ignored or forgotten. As I finished my meal, a server finally asked if everything was okay and promptly delivered the coffee. The food was average (6/10) and the price was higher compared to Wetherspoons (£12 vs £7). Unlike Wetherspoons, there were no unlimited refills here. Overall, I was not impressed and won't be returning anytime soon."

"The food in this Frankie and Benny's is probably the best I've had. Even better than the London restaurants. The BUT is that the service lets it down.. it's very slow. I totally understand that it gets busy and we unfortunately went at a very...busy time, it just seems like the place is very under staffed and Its not fair on the staff that are working their butts off trying to serve and keep everyone happy in a huge packed out restaurant. Our waitress was lovely, although very clearly stressed and running around like a headless chicken all evening she still had a smile on her face and still kept a sense of humour. She was very welcoming and friendly sadly we didn't get her name so I can't give a shout out. Back on to the food it was incredible. SO nice! We shared a started of Mozzarella sticks and meat balls Al Forno, the sauce was really well made, full of flavour, definitely would recommend. (pork meatballs not beef though, just a heads up). The main course came, piping hot and again, full of flavour. Probably the best burger i've had in a while. I hate when you get served a beef burger and its dry. This was defintely not dry it was lovely. Can't comment on dessert because we didn't have time as we were heading over to watch a movie at cineworld and we were just too full from the starter and main courses. The portion sizes were just right. The cocktails were really good too. We also had a shot of Limoncello, which was suggested by our waitress. I enjoyed, sadly my boyfriend found it a bit hard to swallow lol. Will 100% be returning. We had a great evening. Thank you."

"I understand that this review may belong in the category of very affordable dining options, but the service was quite poor. In summary, the food arrived an hour late. I ordered £10 worth of food to receive free delivery, but I was still charged £1.00. The food looked like it had been mishandled, as if the driver had been careless with it. I didn't bother to complain because the food was so late that the restaurant was closing soon anyway, and it seemed like my concerns would not be taken seriously. The chicken was undercooked and the fries were soggy."

"The service was excellent and the delivery was on time. The packaging was sealed and delivered in perfect condition. The vegetarian pizza we ordered was delicious, meeting the usual Pizza Hut standards. The potato wedges could have been improved, but overall, it was a good experience."

"Remember you will be here for a flight it the food. The purpose of this place is to provide a reasonable fill for a large number of travellers and the odd visitor, who will have no expectation of any form of culinary excellence. What it does it manages reasonably well but there are plenty of areas of concern. You will probably be spending the night at the hotel and won’t be looking for any other overpriced offering elsewhere. When you book you will be offered a ‘meal deal’ great for those with late check ins but the fact is most people are checked in by 7am when service starts. The offer is useless to this large group. For those just wanting an evening meal one has to phone to book not easy in this automated utopia, and put up with the prices which, thought low for the South East, are steep for those from Up North: our bill for 2 courses and 2 rounds of drinks was almost £80 with not only solicitation for a tip but also a charity to whom I do not want to give money. Ugh!I have a particular loathing for Companies that expect me to donate my hard earned cash to their pet charity, especially when, for personal reasons, it is one I would never donate to. The menu is riddled with management speak ‘our take on’i is everywhere as are unnecessary hyperboles that I find off putting. Just write the menu in simple English without the horrid exaggerations. Starters are very limited. For my wife soup was her only choice. My bog standard prawn cocktail was £7 . Portions OK but don’t even dream of asking for anything that is not strictly within the menu. Steaks followed hard to get that wrong but needless to say the chips were frozen and clearly a budget brand. Cooked to our taste. Neither my wife nor I could find any temptation in the dessert menu so we passed. Service appeared manic externally but when it came to our own table was slow albeit friendly. Trying to order a round of drinks was far from easy. Just remember you are being fed as part of a crowd. You are here either for or after a flight in all probability. If you remember this I am nit aware of anywhere preferable in the Gatwick complex but that is not saying much."

"I had breakfast at this cafe last week at 7:10 a.m. I ordered the £5.25 breakfast and it was delicious and well-prepared. There were 12 different breakfast options to choose from, with the most expensive being under £7. They also had a variety of lunch options such as jacket potatoes and fish and chips, all at very reasonable prices. The cafe was extremely clean and well-maintained. Even though I did not use the restroom, I observed that they had a disabled toilet available. If I ever find myself in Crawley again, I would definitely return to this cafe for breakfast."

"I ordered takeaway here for the 1st time was “stupidly” unaware of what the various sauces were called. The man serving was not helpful arrogantly questioned what language I was speaking as I didn’t know the correct sauce names (I am English btw! . I said my partner was French but I was clearly English and speaking it so didn’t understand why he asked that! As we waited for the food outside, he thought I was out of earshot and shouted “learn to speak English”. I went back to challenge him on this disgusting comment and he seemed surprised I had heard and then tried to blag he was making a joke! He was NOT! Just because I’m not upto speed on the official names of his precious sauces, it does not make it acceptable to be so rudely insulted or at least make sure they definitely can’t hear you! Safe to say we won’t be going back. Oh and the food was ****!"

"Excellent service and a good deal for your cash. Probably the best meal I've had at Gatwick (over several years of travel through this airport). Will definitely go again the next time I'm there. Food is fresh, fast and really tasty. Service is cheerful and friendly. The restaurant is light, cheerful and colourful offering items for sale such as baskets and such like. Cost is reasonable, seeing as you are a captive/targeted audience in the airport. Can't believe I'd not been there before how did I miss it?"

"Customer service was superb, I had ordered of uber eats and had left out some information about my order by accident. I was then called and told that they were out of my selected drink and asked if there was any replacements I would like which is very appreciated instead of just handing me a random one. Due to me leaving out some information they asked what I would like in my burger, phone operator was extremely polite. The food itself was ok, the kebab meat was very tasty and the salad tasted fresh, the chicken burger was near perfect. The only negative comment I have to make is the chips, I feel like they could have maybe been cooked a little longer and then it would have been 5 stars, but the chips were still edible so I cant really complain. Prices are average for the local area and the portions are value for money, delivery driver was very polite and the packaging was neat and presentable, very quick delivery time seeing as it's the restaurant that delivers and not an uber driver Over all a 4.5/5 would recommend"

"Been to this pub many times as the Indian food is usually great but unfortunately last night could be our last night!! They have introduced a new menu which started last night and none of the staff seem to know what’s going on! They were actually printing off A4 copies of the menu as customers asked to see a menu!The evening started with me asking the barman for a pint of Kingfisher (Indian beer) and he asked if I wanted a single or a double!! After clarifying that I wanted a pint of beer not a spirit, I then asked him for a pint of coke and a half pint of lager. This little teaser had him totally flummoxed! He asked if I meant half pint coke and a half pint of lager? NO says I, I want a pint of coke with ice and a half pint of lager! It took him a good 30 seconds to figure out it was two separate drinks and he was thinking where could he find a big enough glass to mix a pint of coke with half of lager .The evening continued along the same vein when we tried to order food. The order was written down three times before he got it right.The food turned up after 30 minutes but was immediately sent back as it was all cold .When the meals arrived the second time, they were all hot and very tasty. This was surprising given the Fawlty Towers experience we’d just had at the bar.So the management have clearly screwed up with the introduction of their new menu. There has obviously been no planning and no staff training. We saw several customers complaining directly to the manager. We will wait a few months for this place to either settle down or go out of business before we would consider trying it again."

"I organised my leaving meal with the owner and staff. They were so helpful and kind and promised to create a fabulous tapas for up to 30 people. The evening was superb and the dishes came out and were a surprise to everyone as we didn’t know what we were going to eat. We had chorizo, pan a la catalana, Patatas bravas, squid, chicken, pardon peppers three types of paella and salad. All food was hot and served efficiently by the happy staff. I can’t thank them enough for such an enjoyable and memorable evening."

"I had a great dining experience at this restaurant. They offer a separate gluten-free menu with a variety of appetizers, numerous pizza and pasta options, risottos, salads, fish, steak, and a selection of desserts. "My wife and I fly from Gatwick 4 or 5 times every year. Every time we head straight for the seafood bar, every time we visit, the food, service and champagne are absolutely perfect. On the 2nd of November however we went there early in the morning and I ordered a crab, at first I were told there were no crabs so I decided to order an alternative when a member of staff found a crab !. I ate it, my wife had salmon and scrambled egg and all seemed well. However just before we landed in Barbados I started with stomach pains, for the next seven days I could hardly move away from the toilet. I saw the pharmacist and he told me I had seafood poisoning! I absolutely love seafood and this is the second time in my life I have had seafood poisoning, as bad as seafood poisoning is it will not stop me eating it I 'm just a little disappointed that I had a dodgy crab at this place somewhere where we have spent many, many happy hours before our trips. Will this stop me going to the Caviar and Seafood Prunier ? Probably not it 's become a part of our holiday and I doubt the staff meant to sell me a dodgy crab."

"The food at the restaurant was delicious, but unfortunately, the service was lacking. Things started off well, but after we received our main meal, the service deteriorated. It seemed like no waiter was paying attention to our table, so we had to constantly ask for things like the dessert menu, order it, and then receive it. We also had to wait a long time for our coffee, which was made incorrectly (flat whites are not the same as americanos). Overall, the food was good once we finally got it, but it fell short of what you would expect from a fine dining establishment."
