"this assessment is based on the overall experience. this evening, the seahorse visited for a very special occasion and had something different than something special. thinking back into the “Seahorse of old” was an experience in which one could feel, wanted and appreciated. we left last night the feeling as if it was now a special club we were not members. I used the feedback at the time of the “Style over Substance”, but in fairness the problems did not quite articulate, it is that I felt that just attention was paid to the wrong things, e.g., how dinge appear instead of taking care of the detail of what is actually, i.e. the above mentioned note. if I could score a few areas separately, this would change the star rating. for example, one of the waiter dec, had great knowledge and was beautiful, certainly a credit to the place, as well as the kitchen was on point. eating was fantastic. So, with that said why the three stars? I just don't know what this restaurant is trying to be? if listened to a request to dimme the lighter in the private escapade, the catina versus the seahorse (probably again for occurred) than pay attention to the detail of their actual customers. clear glasses away, replace cutlery in time, make sure that a cure is deleted before the next arrival. give them to all the tables the same focus, instead of leaving feeling certain that are important and others not. I miss the feeling that the seahorse had earlier, and that they had in opposition. I was underwhelmed last night. for me, a meal should always be a special occasion to enjoy an experience, no matter what. But the feeling from the left was not important and we did not."

"My wife and I visited Amalfi Kitchen along with our friends on 10th May. We had booked several weeks earlier as part of a planned holiday in the hope of finding a good italian restaurant (we 're not fans of fast food chains . What a truly wonderful discovery this place was. It 's a small establishment with a lovely courtyard frontage. The restaurant is very intimate and relaxing, and the team are very welcoming (including Cleo! The food is obviously prepared with great passion, which could be tasted with every mouthful. I can 't eat cheese and when I explained this I was told no problem, we can adapt anything on the menu to suit your needs . We started with breads and assorted dips and oils, for the main course 2 of us had the crab lobster tortellini and the other 2 had the mushroom carbonara homemade pasta and fresh ingredients this was simply outstanding, and the wine selection here is chosen well to compliment the menu. The desserts leave you with a difficult choice as they 're all excellent. We enjoyed the evening so much that we booked a return visit on the following Monday. Our intention here was to have the same as our first night (it was that good , but we were persuaded to try the beef shin ravioli (again without the cheese for me! All 4 us chose this dish and we thought Friday nights meal could not be bettered how wrong we were. The evening was a wonderful culinary delight and it was nice just to be sitting there finishing off our wine and chatting with other guests at the tables around us. There was no sense of being rushed and it just felt like a little piece of Italy had been dropped into the centre of Dartmouth. Thank you Mike Jo for your hospitality and to Phoebe all we can say is Grazie Mille. We will return next year"
