"Gorgeous food. I had Navarin of Lamb and spring vegetables followed by flourless chocolate brownie, grand marnier ice cream and brandy snap. It's all freshly cooked to order and utterly delicious. Friendly service and lovely songs playing quietly in the background. Vegetarian options: My sister was very impressed with her vegetarian option. It was different from regular veggie food. "A spur of the moment decision to have a Fish Supper! Fish and Chips in Fareham has really been a struggle for some time but we took a ‘punt’ on the Google review and we’re so glad we did. Courteous young guys in the till and busy vibe around the fryers, the result, beautiful fresh fish, plump and perfect chips, matched with a glass of wine in the garden, created the best Fish Chips for some time!"

"Great service and wide ranging choice of meat and inclusive salads and sides. Staff were very friendly and made everyone welcome. The premium choice is £4 more expensive than the basic, but the cuts of meat are worth it. It is not the place to go regularly, because of the cost, but for a treat, it is well worth it. It was not busy when we went (1815 on a Friday), so I cannot comment on how the service would be when it is crowded. It would have got 5 stars if it were not for the expense and the feeling that you are there to eat, rather than relax with friends. As I said, great for a treat."

"Dim sum lovely had a couple of prawn versions, though extremely hot so let them cool down a bit staff should warn customers. Tom yum soups very disappointing we had the salmon one and the prawn one. In both cases the salmon and prawn had not be seared, seasoned nor marinated, so they were just plonked in the soup plain boiled, very bland. The soup base was OK but definitely not an authentic Thai taste. Massive dining hall we were the only ones in there on a weekend."

"Popped in tonight, totally unplanned and just driving by back from Gosport First impressions were of a proper locals pub at the heart of its community but at the same time welcoming to strangers. We had a lovely couple of meals, classic pub food done very well and representing good value in these challenging times. We joined in the meat raffle too no winning ticket tho ! , looked to be some good meat selections and some very happy winners to boot. We ended our visit sharing an Elton Mess which was excellent, to the point that my wife insists I will have to get my own next time as she IS NOT sharing again !!! A well deserved 5* from us."

"we have ordered to collect and the service was amazing. pizza was finished within 22 minutes. that was the best pizza we had from anywhere. no dreadful fat like dominos etc. and really authentic. the basic was so tasty, the correct amount of sauce and mozzarella. no ceddar in itself, really great choice of the torf. my man and I had a different pizza and we both loved it! also felt not terrible after that, but as if we were eating something really fresh instead of filling food. will come back in any case. the restaurant is really cooled and the staff is really friendly. amazing!"

"Terrible food, aranchini served cold in the middle, I have never had squid as rubbery as this. Lacking flavour and quality and charged a premium for this. I was asked several times how my food was but the server had walked away before I could answer. Avoid if you enjoy good food! "We were regular customers over a period of 7 years but food quality started to become quite hit and miss. However the service has always been excellent. We decided to give it another try on Tuesday Pie mash) night but wished we hadn’t bothered! We decided to try a couple of small starters, my husband ordered calamari and I opted for mini Camembert/ chutney. These starters were not reflective of the price £7.25 each) as when they arrived there was only 3 calamari rings and the Cheese was hard to find under the herb crust which was not mentioned on the menu. There was more chutney and one slice of baguette which tasted stale. The waitress was very professional and acknowledged our issue and agreed to take off our bill. Unfortunately things didn’t get much better as When my chicken mushroom pie arrived which did look delicious turned out to be undercooked. The pie was nice and brown on top but raw underneath which was a real shame. The chicken also looked processed with very little taste. The mash and gravy was very tasty and the fish pie my husband had was also very good. I know hospitality currently has lots of obstacles due to increased costs but food quality is a must if they want returning customers. Again the service was excellent and Jess our waitress dealt with our issues promptly and this was reflected in our final bill."

"We made a last minute decision to go for a Sunday roast, and what a great decision it was! The pub has a proper ‘local’, comfortable feel it is not trying to be anything that it isn’t. It’s divided into two parts the bar, and the restaurant, and was bustling. They accommodated a family of 5 within 2 hours which is pretty amazing being able to find somewhere on a Sunday in such a short time frame. There were a selection of roasts and all the trimmings on offer, plus the normal menu. We all opted for roast. 4 beef and one pork. We have never been given so much food cauliflower/brocolli cheese, carrots, red cabbage, green beans, leeks as sides, with tender meat, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pud, stuffing and parsnips on the plate, and jugs of gravy. The food was nicely hot and beautifully cooked. And so much of it. We all agreed it was the best pub roast we had ever had, and although would like to keep it as a ‘hidden gem’ , this pub deserved a huge shout out."

"There is no public WiFi available, which is quite uncommon nowadays. The food was decent, although nothing extraordinary - it seemed more microwaved than chef-prepared. The vegetables were fresh. There was a meat raffle happening while we were there, which appeared to be a popular event. In terms of kid-friendliness, there may have been a kids' play area outside, as I thought I heard children playing. The price per person ranged from £10 to £20."

"Scrambled eggs so dry like they been microwaved for a day. Almost inedible. Fried eggs rubbery. £1.75 for one small rasher of bacon. £4 for a tiny kids milkshake. Many mistakes made on the order . Brought chocolate milkshake instead of hot chocolate. Brought fried eggs instead of scrambled eggs. No fruit shoot brought with kids meal. Coffee lukewarm. I was more than willing to discuss with staff but they are all youngsters and it was really busy although not sure why. Where is the manager of this place checking on customers — doesn’t seem to be one."
"Have visited this business a few times. Our local. The landlady has obviously had a run in with people in their twenties, we went there as a family of four for the 1st time (parents and two sons). She allowed them to stay for that time only, however she wasn’t at all welcoming or kindly, the lady abruptly spoke to them in an inappropriate manner, pointing her finger in our son’s face. They avoid the place now, we certainly didn’t want to stick around, she ruined our enjoyment. We gave her the benefit of the doubt as parents, plus our men like the ‘Flower Pot Ales’ We went before the Christmas period 2023, it was heaving, myself and sister along with husbands. We had a glass of red wine each, our first beverage of the night. Well, both glasses, Merlot Malbec were past its date, awful taste of vinegar! The women behind the bar serving must have thought we wouldn’t notice the taste. Poor business ethics. Upsetting. This all boils down to the landlady and her management. They must have known the bottles were dodgy."

"such a jewel! a beautiful pub with the most incredible food. local products, super tasty and great prices. the ambiente is charming. it is ozing in history and has a beautiful mood. greg the manager is super pleasant. very friendly, friendly and obviously proud of its facility. what he should be. he knows the story and shares it openly, what is fascinating to hear and know. super dog friendly too. also great that southwick brewhouse is a stairway that would also sell large local beer, ales, wein and pearl. would come back to a heartbeat. greg and to her wonderful staff for a nice relaxed visit."

"Highly recommended! The husband and wife who own this restaurant are incredibly funny and friendly. We had a great time - when I asked about gluten-free options, the man sat down with me and went through the menu. He even customized my breakfast to be gluten-free, recommending the vegan sausages and toast. I will definitely be returning, as the atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming - I didn't want to leave! <3"

"Was a regular customer but one dish I recently ordered for delivery wasn’t cooked properly some unknown ingredients were added incorrectly making the meal not fit for consumption and had to be binned. When I called and asked for an explanation as to why this food...was now cooked properly no explanation was given. I like to believe that when I order food from a restaurant it is cooked correctly and in a safe manner that is not happening in this restaurant and if I had a food allergy I would be very concerned."

"I had a positive experience with the food and coffee at this cafe, however, I was surprised when they charged me an extra 50p for using a debit card on a bill under £10. I was unaware that companies were permitted to do this, and there was no notice about the charge displayed. Since I often dine alone and my bill may fall below £10, I will not be returning to this establishment, despite the quality of the food and drinks."

"First time I've used B&B's, and I've not been disappointed. I decided to swing by on my way to work, to have a Burrito for my lunch, at work (over in Portsmouth) The Burrito I had was the chicken fajita. It was RAMMED full of food, and well packed. It had been double wrapped too, ready for an extended journey! When I got to finally eat it 2 hours later it was still lovely and warm. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and would definitely recommend this place. The property itself is very clean and tidy, with friendly and helpful staff. Great value and all ingredients are very clearly fresh. I'll be visiting again, and likely to make it a Friday lunch treat when this period of my shift comes around again!"

"I was pretty pleased with my meal here. The staff were efficient and our order was taken and brought out to us in good time. The food was nice. I had a chicken burger for my main which was good but could have done with more fries on the side as the price was probably at the higher end of what you would want to pay. Had a waffle for pud and certainly can't complain about the portion size of this, however it was a bit hard. Good experience overall but I would say the prices are a bit on the high side and expect a 20% gratuity added on to the bill which should be optional, especially with a table of 3!"
