"I live in France, I 've eaten everywhere from Michelin Star places to Mom Pop 's and Routiers. This place is absolutely excellent. A very simple short menu concocted from a few ingredients. My steak (rump) came with just 4 items on the plate, effectively 3 ingredients. Perfectly cooked steak (I like mine Black Blue), the fluffiest Polenta I 've ever eaten, a cooked mushroom duxelle passed through a rough sive to give a pate like texture and a couple of perfectly fried mushrooms. It was served with a small pot of meat/mushroom jus. If you are going to put so few ingredients on a plate, you have to be an excellent chef! Our waitress was fabulous so friendly but not intrusive we arrived 1/2 an hour before service having dropped in on our way home from Andorra. She was a delight. Served us a delicious local bio wine, with toasts and a tapenade to die for, to keep us going for the 1/2 hour before the kitchen opened. Honestly, the welcome was stupendous. My colleague had the profiteroles for dessert and rated it the best dessert she 'd ever eaten half the diners quickly followed suit and agreed. I had an off menu Irish Coffee fabulous, despite the fact they had no proper cream on site and had to scrounge some squirty cream from next door to make it. Honestly, I can 't rave enough about this place. Good food is only average food without perfect hospitality and this tiny little place ticks both boxes. I will be back xxx"
