"We went here shortly after arriving in this university town about 45 minutes outside of the large Frankfurt. Our local friends stringy suggested trying the delectable concoctions ,add out of coffee, and other components , usually chocolate . I tried a cafe latte with, I kid you not, chocolate cookie dough. The tastes I was expecting was to be overbearingly sweet and obnoxious but instead it was tasty as hell, and balanced---quite delicate. The Germans know their chocolate, and their Christmas.I smiled after tasting the the chocolatey goodness and smiled even wider when I saw the toy train going around the small cafe by the Windows. Like the German Christmas markets that make Rockwell's depictions of American Christmas nostalgia quaint, the Germans know how to do Christmas.If you come to Giessen, take a few minutes and get yourself a great cup of coffee at a great local spot that will beat the Starbucks down the street( and I am a fan of Starbucks )."

"Wir gehen öfter in den Asien Palast essen und nehmen meistens das Buffet. Die Auswahl ist riesig und es findet sicher jeder etwas für seinen Geschmack. Wir sind eigentlich noch nie enttäuscht worden. Sollte einmal eine Sache nicht perfekt sein, wurde sofort vom Chef darauf reagiert und man bekam etwas extra zur Entschuldigung. Es ist sehr sauber und man sitzt nie lange vor den leeren Tellern. Das Personal ist durchweg schnell und zuvorkommend, räumt ruckzuck ab und man bekommt auch seine Getränke immer sehr schnell. Den Charakter einer Bahnhofshalle hat das Restaurant trotz seiner Größe nicht. Man hat sich viel Mühe gegeben unterteilte Räume zu schaffen. Viele unserer Freunde sind durch uns zum Asien Palast gekommen und sind ebenfalls sehr zufrieden. Wir gehen immer wieder gern dort essen"

"Very nice ambience with great attention to detail. This is reflected in the dishes: finely decorated, delicious and fresh. We were there several times and always found it fantastic. The selection and know-how of the bartender at Gins are also not to be overlooked. Through the constant presence of the owner and his wife, one feels that the restaurant is a warm opportunity. The service is friendly, loving and sympathetic. The food was rounded off with a very good and large selection of wines. We're overwhelmed!"

"Nach dem Besuch der Landesgartenschau waren wir hungrig. Wir kamen am La Perla vorbei, das von außen recht einladend aussah. Aber wir hatten uns im Vorfeld aus Tripadvisor eine andere Pizzeria herausgesucht, bloß, dort war gähnende Leere, also sind wir wieder zum La Perla zurück. Parken im Hof, gerade wurde ein Tisch frei, ansonsten volles Haus. Wir blieben bei Pizza, obwohl die italienischen Gerichte recht einladend wirkten. Das heben wir uns für das nächste Mal auf, denn die Pizza war wirklich gut und die anderen Gäste sahen nicht nach Touristen aus und wenn Stammgäste zufrieden sind, dann ist das Essen bestimmt gut."

"Ali's is a short walk from the Giessen train station (bahnhof), and is well worth a visit. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive; the menu is all fish/seafood, and most all the items are grilled and served with a salad and delicious pommes frites (small, round, lightly fried potatoes). My wife ordered the salmon and thought it one of the better-prepared salmon steaks she'd ever had. I order Dorade (whatever that is); it came with skin, head, and bones---but was very delicious. Dinner for two was about 25 Euros and well worth it. If you know Giessen bus lines, this place is just a block from the 802 stop. Give it a try---you won't regret it."

"Zusammenfassung: Es gibt in Deutschland wenig Lokale, wo man gleichzeitig essen und Bundesliga sehen kann. In Gießen ist es noch schwieriger. In diesem Lokal ist es möglich, obwohl in der Küche gibt es Potential nach oben. Lokal: mitten in der Stadt, wo viele Stammgäste kommen. Modern und schön eingerichtet. Eines der wenigen Nichtraucherlokalen mit SKY in Gießen. Andere Anlässe wie Businessessen oder romantischen Abend würde ich auf Grund der Tischkonfiguration nicht empfehlen (Stammgastlokal). Service: schnell und aufmerksam, selbst wenn viel los. Bierauswahl (vom Fass): Veltins, Gravensteiner, Früh also gut. Weinauswahl: uninteressantKüche also das Wichtigste: habe Pizza probiert. Die schmeckt wie zu Hause gemacht aber ist auch gut. Von den 3 wichtigsten Zutaten der perfekten Pizza, perfekt war die Mozzarella-Käse, dagegen Sauce war nur gut und Pizzateig durchschnittlich (wahrscheinlich auf Grund des schwachen Offens was man merkt). Nicht desto trotzt hatte der Koch hier das Beste rausgekriegt und die Pizza war ok. Die Zutaten gut und frisch vor allem die Peperoniwurst gut. Preisleistungsverhältnis: Pizza kostet um die 7 EUR und Kleines Bier kostet um die 2,5 EUR also nicht schlecht. Wiederkommen/Empfehlungsfaktor (0-100%): 75%, definitiv komme ich hier die Bundesliga sehen und Pizza mit Bier dabei essen."

"Kleiner Laden in der Gießener Fußgängerzone mit Möglichkeit auch draußen zu sitzen und seine Waffel zu genießen.Im Inneren steht man vor einer Theke aus der man sich die Zutaten der Füllung aussuchen kann....wer jetzt denkt, ach super.....den muss ich "enttäuschen" ! Man hat die Qual der Wahl und muss sich zügig entscheiden, denn der Laden ist echt gefragt und somit hoch frequentiert und die wollen auch alle endlich eine Waffel. ;)Als erstes sucht man sich eine Sauce aus (Vollmilch-, Bitter- oder weiße Schokolade, vielleicht doch lieber rote Grütze oder Erdebeere...um mal eine kleine Auswahl zu nennen), hat man sich entschieden ist das Obst dran, diverse Toppics und wem das noch nicht reicht, kann zusätzlich noch zwischen weiteren Specials und Eis wählen.Wer jetzt denkt, dass dies ein Vermögen kostet liegt etwas daneben. Im Durchschnitt um die 5/6 Euro.Zeit sollte man dennoch mitbringen, denn so bemüht die Angestellten sind, es kann (muss nicht) schon mal einen kleinen Moment dauern. Man bekommt die bestellte Waffel an den Tisch gebracht und der Teller wird durch Schokosauce mit dem eigenen Namen verziert.Die Waffeln gibt es auch zum Mitnehmen, dann aber ohne Namen.Alles in allem kann man WonderWaffel in Gießen nur weiterempfehlen, sie sind richtig lecker."

"We were very positively surprised by the Autohof and especially the restaurant. You don't feel like one of the usual fast restaurants on the highway. But it was very quiet and the restaurant was very appealing (here mediteran with beautiful bordered seating areas, a large glazed conservatory). The menu has a great selection of FRISCH cooked dishes. The advertiser in the hallway to the entrance of the restaurant, where all the different types of carvings are depicted and what was unfortunately called the Gammelfleisch parade by another reviewer, definitely does not meet the food in the restaurant and I also find it very bad if you evaluate this only by means of high-gloss advertising signs. We chose the menu for the Szegediner Gulasch with potatoes and the Tessiner Schnitzel with roast potatoes and bacon beans. It tasted very good. In particular, the Gulasch was not a fade, tasteless, warmed-up pampe as you would otherwise like to have it at the motorway grid stations. The goulash was especially well seasoned, had a great consinstenz and tasted really well; that food was also really hot and not only once quickly warmed up in the microwave or these heat containers, as is usual in resting stations. The Tessiner Schnitzel was also great. The panade was actually by hand (you can see it simply), the roast potatoes were not finished pieces of unit and the carving still nicely juicy. All in all, we were very positively surprised by the ambience and the food. The service was also very friendly and always on zack. In the end, we paid €36 incl. drinks and espresso and that was really very appropriate. The Autohof or the restaurant surprised us very positively and once we come back along the route, we will definitely return there again."

"Ich war nun 2x da, um das Veggie-Angebot zu testen. In der zweiten Woche nach Eröffnung gab nur den Vegan-Burger. Zu der Zeit fand ich das Angebot ein wenig enttäuschend. Dieser hat eine gebratene Aubergine als Patty. An sich hat er jedoch ganz passabel geschmeckt auch wenn der Burger auseinander gefallen ist - jedoch war meine Erwartung viel höher und ich war leider auch eine andere Burgerqualität gewöhnt von einem etwas länger ansässigem Burger-Laden in Gießen, das wohl jeder in der Stadt kennt... :-) Als Beilage wählte ich Chili Cheese Pommes. Die schmeckten gut.Einige Wochen später hat sich das vegetarische Angebot erfreulicherweise erweitert. Es gibt nun auch einen Veggie-Burger mit Gemüsebratling und Halloumi darüber. Daumen hoch für das erweiterte Angebot. Leider war auch jener Burger nicht überzeugend. Der Bratling zerfiel und so langsam passierte dies auch mit dem Burgerbrötchen. Da machten die letzten Bissen nicht mehr so viel Spaß. Als Besteck-ablehnender-Burgeresser (^^) war das leider ein recht hektisches Ende.Zum Lokal an sich. Es ist einladend aufgebaut, sauber, die Küche war sehr flott und der Service ist supernett. Wer also keine großen Ansprüche an (vegetarische) Burger hat. Der kann es gerne einmal probieren. Empfehlen würde ich es jedoch nur bedingt aufgrund der mäßigen Geschmacksqualität."

"So that eating is very good and also delicious, but delicious it is also where different. In my whole life, as a customer, I've never been served soooo badly and I'm pretty upset. We ate something and drank. After we fed our food and our drink was empty, nobody came after 20min and asked us how it tasted and whether we still want something. After that was too stupid, we dressed our jackets and put the wallets on the table, no one came after another 5 minutes. In the end, when we wanted to pay, we weren't even asked if we wanted to pay separately or together. We even have to figure out who has to pay. Apart from that, the bill was simply thrown at the table and we were called the total amount. When leaving the shop was not even said goodbye, although as staff stood directly at the entrance. I prefer to praise the city café, Paprica, Mr. Jones, news cafe and how they all mean. Just in an initial phase, you might want to look at how to serve your customers. Conclusion, once and never again."

"the pizza was punctual, but unfortunately qualitatiw was pretty bad. she had no real edge, everything was equally thick and fried instead of crispy. for the expensive price it was actually good that so much vegan cheese was on it, but it was just too much so that it tasted only after fat. little sweet, fad and not worth the money. the extra basilikum bestamd from 4 tiny small bottles and costs neat extra. unfortunately not recommended. my colleagues found the non vegan pizzas mostly good, but I don't know if I would order again here."
