"I stayed in this Hotel one night through a company event. The interior is really beautiful and the rooms very cozy. The staff was always super friendly, kind and helpful. The location right next to the lake is of course excellent. However, as a vegan who had three meals and breakfast here, I must say I was really disappointed in the food. Even though it was previously announced that I was vegan, the vegan options were usually just the normal option with the non-vegan parts removed, with some variations, and severely lacked a source of protein. For example, the risotto with fish was just the risotto, and not even more of the risotto. Breakfast options were also extremely limited, with some food items like the cereal it was not even marked whether it was vegan. How a vegan person is supposed to get full or have a balanced meal with this is beyond me. It's 2022, so I do except better, hopefully my review will lead so some improvements."

"Do NOT listen to this guy posting one star we have been coming to Chez Thoa for years (and ordering from them through the pandemic for home delivery, mostly on Smood , and their service is consistently friendly, gracious, and accommodating, with their food being nothing short of EXEMPLARY. I have visited Vietnam and can attest that their food is authentic, delicious, and colorful! Not to mention their portions are more than generous. Their steamed buns (which are huge! , vermicelli noodle dishes, and their pho are our personal favorites, and the noodle dishes are ALWAYS well garnished with fresh mint, bean sprouts, lettuce, carrots, lemongrass, peanuts, with a generous amount of sauces to dip or pour over if needed (that is specific to the noodles, as you normally will pour over a special Chili based sauce, usually nuoc Cham, which enhances the flavors. I imagine our one star reviewer had an especially bad day, is potentially a competitor, or has never experienced authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Chez Thoa is AMAZING and easily one of THE BEST Vietnamese restaurants in the whole of Europe."

"I arrived at the hotel quite late after a long car ride, and upon check-in, I was told that the restaurant kitchen would be closing in 15 minutes. The front-desk employee consulted briefly with the restaurant staff and told me not to rush and that I could freshen up and then go to the table. When I walked to the restaurant, I was kindly welcomed and taken to my table by the window. Again, they told me that I certainly did not have to rush and that I could enjoy an appetizer before making my choice of food. After my appetizer, I chose my two dishes. The starter, the Duo de tartres boeuf was delicious, and I enjoyed the Tuna as the main course. Every staff member present had a very high level of service and friendliness. Once again, thank you!"

"Beautiful Persian/Mediterranean/Indian restaurant right on Lake Geneva. We stayed here in the late afternoon after a visit to Chateau de Chillon. Most restaurants were not open at this time between lunch and dinner. We called and they invited us to come by. We were the only ones at the time, so we received special attention. Your food is exceptionally high quality and makes the high price worth. They prepared gluten-free bread for us very tasteful and good texture. Mixed salad was enough for sharing 2 and shrimp curry was to die. Traditional mint green tea service was so elegant. Several gluten-free dessert options are also very unique and tasteful. The restaurant filled up when we were gone. This place is a real jewel!"

"Definitely not worth the high price. The rooms are partly furnished with newer furniture which is fine, but the bathroom gives hostel or 1-star hotel vibes. One square meter, claustrophobic, moldy, dirty shower curtain and even the unused towels are constantly damp. Having to use the bathroom is very unpleasant, it is in desperate need of a renovation and expansion. Or decrease the price of a night there. There are no kettles in the room. The breakfast is served (a tray of cheese and ham with 4 pieces of baguette and two croissants) which can get repetitive if you stay several nights. I have to agree with many reviews that it’s very loud due to the location next to a main road and railway. Also have to agree that the owner is a bit arrogant, I asked her for a new bar of soap because the cleaning staff took ours and didn’t replace it and she seemed annoyed and bothered by me. Clarice at breakfast is very kind and helpful and lovely to talk to though. The view and terrace are very nice. There is a cute beach nearby. We did not eat at the restaurant so I cannot comment on that."

"I went to a restaurant last night with 6 of my colleagues. I had a ribeye, which was pretty good but nothing exceptional. It came with sauces, including the pepper sauce that I always wait for : However, be careful, be prepared to pay a hefty bill, it's very expensive. For the ribeye and fries, you will get more than 75 CHF. If you take alcohol and dessert, count around 120 euros per person. The place is nice in front of the lake, with a beautiful panoramic view, and the weather was very nice. The service was very good. "We booked a table on-line but could only obtain an 8.30 sitting. Despite this we arrived early intending to have a pre dinner drink in the bar. However the place was packed and people were turning up on spec and being seated while we waited fruitlessly for any service. When we complained we were eventually ushered to a table and finally served with our drinks. After that things improved significantly. The starters and mains were excellent and were served promptly. To be fair there were only three servers and they were under enormous pressure."

"Hostesses were supremely rude. Arrived at 6:40 and refused to seat our party. I asked for seating outside at one of the various open covered tables but they still refused seating say that they were full and that a rush just occurred with many people coming. She was very and rude asked me to calm down when I had calmly inquired about one of the open outdoor tables. I’ve never had such an experience in my travels to Switzerland. I was completely shocked and dismayed at the rudeness exhibited by not one but three of the hostess/waitstaff. Don’t bother- try one of the other restaurants in Vevey. Great food and welcoming Swiss hospitality. Follow-up: While I appreciate the prompt response from the owner, the response is patently false. Our party of four was turned away not once but twice. The first time claiming that due to incoming rain, seating outside was not available. Other patrons were already being seated outside, and the table I pointed out was under cover on the terrace. After pointing the available table, the hostess said that I needed to calm down and that they were not seating outside anymore and that the other hostess on the terrace would speak with me. There was nothing in my demeanor or attitude that conveyed anger or frustration. I simply suggested a solution to the excuse provided. When the other hostess came, I again suggested the table under cover and she said that they were not seating outside anymore and that no seats would be available inside because a large rush came in and there was no room or reservations available. At no time were other options suggested (cellar, veranda, or inside). I completely agree that there was room for seating, however, the two hostesses refused to seat our party of four. There was room available- I noted it specifically to both hostesses- but the excuses provided, of rain (it did not rain that evening, although it looked like it might) and no more seating, were a blatant and rude dismissal of our party. Looking at other reviews, this is apparently not the first occurrence of rudeness at this restaurant. It is a shame such behavior is permitted to continue."

"Meine Mutter und ich waren während der Covid Situation dort essen (nur Terassen offen). "Much better than the negative reviews give off. Certainly go for this place. Deducted 1 star for service as it did take a few minutes of staring around and trying to catch someone's eye for the bill (which is somewhat normal for restaurants anyway), and 1 star deducted for food as Beef was quite chewy and duck was just a bit weird smelling but other than that, everything else was incredible. They have 2 options, Chinese or Japanese. We selected Japanese. You get to then choose from Buffet or Menu. Buffet was 52CHF per person. We chose buffet. You get to order a maximum of 4 items per person before you're locked out of the tablet that you order from for 10-15 minutes or so. We managed 16 items between the two of us, and then 3 scoops of ice cream on the 3rd round. Servers spoke English, french and I think Chinese from what I heard. I'd recommend to the restaurant filling out the menu items with English text where possible for English speakers, and also add photos for the drinks as was a bit confused when picking a drink. Bill was 127CHF for 2x buffets and 3x drinks. All in all, a bit pricy but good food. Excellent presentation and the food was really quick to the table. Would certainly come again!"
