"The Snowdrop Inn is a traditional comfy small pub with quirky decorations, tucked away in a small back street of Lewes near the cliffs. Friendly staff informed me on the phone that the menu changes regularly there is always a vegan choice ability to adapt some of the veggie choices. On the day we visited, of the four vegetarian starters from 13 items , two could be vegan eg houmous, olives pitta; carrot coriander soup . There were five vegetarian mains out of 19 three were easily veganised. We chose the chilli, which came with rice jalapeños, swapping the cheese sour cream for more jalapeños some houmous see picture . It was a good sized portion very toothsome. Also available was a brazil nut, cashew, pumpkin seed cranberry mushroom burger, served with chips, salad dairy coleslaw which could be swapped for eg houmous or salsa and a mezze platter of falafel, olives, houmous, cous cous, flatbread, leaf ! dairy tzatziki again, could be swapped for eg salsa . A tad expensive for pub food we're talking 10 for veggie mains June 2012 prices the same cost as the meat dishes I'd expect to pay around 5 8 for similar size quality in London 5 for starters desserts. But a good, interesting selection, pleasant place for a meal staff were clear about veganism. They have won awards for best pub etc had a wide selection of drinks, though I don't know which were vegan they had Westons cider . Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area."
