I stayed on the occasion of the moon and stars concert in locarno. in the restaurant I wanted to order a pizza prosciuto. I wanted to swirl and garlic. I am apologising for this high-fat wish. the answer of the genervten waiter (miguel) was clipp and clear. the pizza is as on the map. any additions or changes are not possible..I am convinced you have been better served with any other restaurant in locarno.Ruhe in peace Swiss gastronomy and customer friendliness"

"Very delicious take away with delivery service. The prices are surprisingly low considering the excellent quality of the food, the generous amounts and the fact that we are in Switzerland: let's hope it stays this way despite it's very successful start! "I had wanted to visit this restaurant for a while, so my expectations were high - and more than met on a quiet Saturday afternoon having lunch on the cozy terrace. Everything we (my husband and I) ate tasted fresh and delicious. Ours was not a special occasion, but if we weren't already married I'd certainly include Da Valentino on a shortlist of wedding party locations - excellent food, excellent service (and impressively multilingual - I overheard the same waiter speaking very fluently to three different parties in three different languages) and a suitably romantic setting with different size rooms for different needs. And if I needed to propose, this would also seem like a good setting... Another bonus point is the location: the restaurant is located only a few steps away from the main square, yet already amidst a quiet residential area, away from the exhaust gases and noise so prevalent when eating on the lakeside restaurants in Muralto.As for the prices, yes, they are elevated, but for the extra quality it seems well worthwhile to pay a tad more than for an average restaurant meal in Switzerland. To put this in proportion, a fabulous light three course lunch for two was about the price of six pizzas in an average Italian restaurant in Switzerland. (Meat and fish main courses would have made this more expensive.) I'd much rather eat like this occasionally and simpler on other occasions than average all the time. The menu is brief but it would, for example, have been possible to find a vegetarian starter and main course had we wanted to eat vegetarian only. I will make sure to plan future trips at times when Da Valentino is open (it is closed on Sundays and Mondays)."

"A wonderful place full of history! From many suggestions of the hotel, we chose this restaurant for dinner and I strongly recommend you to do the same. I had a table with a superb ceramic top, subtle view of the lake, with a lot of green surroundings, perfect and cozy! The bread basket and the appetizer on the side made a good pair with a Franciacorta. Aperitif, calamari with pistachio cream with mint, olives and burrata was amazing! As a main course, I chose an antricot from Piemonte, along with a Nebbiolo. Very tasty, just the meat was medium+ although I asked medium-rare, next with potatoes and onions hay, was delicious!Quality food and time!"

"Die schlechte Nachricht vorweg: Gérard Perriard kocht nur noch bis Ende Januar 2018 und geht dann bald 70 in die verdiente Pension. Die gute Nachricht: Die Nachfolge ist mit Sous Chef Remo Migliorini gut geregelt; er übernimmt ab 1. Februar 2018 das Team in einem Lokal, welches sich jeweils am Donnerstag und Freitagabend in ein kleines, intimes Wohnzimmer mit Kerzenlicht verwandelt vor allem jetzt, wenn die Abende kälter und länger werden. Dann lebt sich Perriard nochmals so aus, wie man das vom einst besten Koch im Tessin im legendären Centenario gewohnt war, wo sich der gebürtige Westschweizer mit zwei Sternen von Michelin schmücken durfte. Also, am 23. November 2017 gibt es eine hausgemachte Foie Gras, verfeinert mit einem Hauch Karotte und Birne ein wahr gewordener Traum, zumal auch die Brioche nicht zu übertreffen ist. Dann gibt es extrem zartes Lamm (aus Neuseeland), ein bisschen Gemüse, eine Prise Pesto und ein dezentes Topinambur Püree. Das Finale ist eine Portion Käse aus den umliegenden Tälern ein grossartiger Abschluss hinter ein leckeres Abendessen, für welches immer auch eine Variante für Fischliebhaber und Vegetarier verfügbar ist. Korrekte Weinkarte, kompetenter, vor allem weiblicher Service, der zum Teil auch schon im Centenario gearbeitet hatte."

"haben uns gefreut, ein indisches vegetarisches Restaurant und haben leider noch Plätze bekommen.Wir Eltern wählten das Menü für 40. , die Kinder wählten Dhal für je 6.50 und Reis für (auch ca. 6.50 plus Chiapatis (für je 2. .Andere Gäste hatten eine sympatische Kellnerin, welche die Gäste informierte, dass sie dann noch mehr bekommen könnten, wir wurden vom Chef bedient , uns wurde das nicht gesagt und wir wurden auch erst wieder beachtet, als wir alles zusammen stellten. Das Dhal war extrem wässerig, das restliche Menü fade und lauwarm.Wir haben noch nie schlechter indisch gegessen. Der Chef vergass die Hälfte vom Dessert.Wir gingen dann sehr schnell und hoffen, dass die sympatische Kellnerin bald einen anderen Job findet.Ein indisches Restaurant wäre eine echte Marktlücke in Locarno."

"Ich bin an diesem Ort vorbeigekommen und weil die Gartenterrassen so schön aussahen und ob da jemand Gitarre spielte, machte ich kurz Halt. Die Bar ist eigentlich direkt daneben, aber durch das Fenster kann man auch von außen bestellen (Selbstbedienung). Ich bestellte ein Frago Spritz was ok war. Ich kenne den Likör, den sie hinzufügen, und würde es mögen, wenn ich es ein bisschen besser schmecken könnte. Ich denke, dieser Ort ist perfekt zum Sitzen und Entspannen und genießen Sie den warmen Abend."

"Im Rahmen unseres Polterweekends waren wir letzten Freitag Abend im Ristorante da Enzo und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Schon der Weg dort hin ist bezaubernd, inmitten der grünen Landschaft findet man erhöht das Restaurant. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich und der Platz in der Nische sowieso einmalig schön. Der Service war super, auch beim Amuse Gueule haben sie sich was einfallen lassen, da meine Freundin Laktose nicht verträgt. das Degustationsmenu war sensationell, vorallem das Tomatenrisotto war ausgezeichnet, ich hatte noch nie solch ein perfektes leckeres Risotto. Die Portionen sind genau abgestimmt, nicht zuviel und nicht zu wenig. Die Reise dort hin hat sich gelohnt und wir werden bestimmt wieder kommen. Vielen Dank dem ganzen Team für den unvergesslichen Abend."

"Eigentlich wollten wir nur einen Aperitif nehmen, aber die Tartar-Karte hat uns dann angelachtund am Ende haben wir 4 verschiedene Tartar bestellt, 3x Rind und 1x Thunfisch.Alle waren ausgezeichnet, frisch und geschmackvoll.Zudem war unser Kellner Francesco super, aufmerksam aber nicht aufdringlich, nett aber nicht schleimig.Bei unserer nächsten Reise ins Tessin kommen wir auf jeden Fall wieder!"

"we were four and unfortunately had all the terrible hunger, which is why we put ourselves in the next best restaurant. someone of us ordered a green salad to the appetizer. the salat had been eaten halfway, two of the four main courses came, one rindstatar (chf 38.- !!) and one spaghetti bolognese. the bark statue looked like eating. it was clapped on a dish. no brot, no wobble. it had little taste and was probably refined with ketchup. the spaghetti were boiled and tasted as already repeatedly warmed up. the two main courses were almost completely eaten, when the other two main courses were served. a pizza prosciutto e funghi, a pizza ruccola. on the pizza funghi were bush mushrooms. also otherwise the two dishes were maximally suitable to fill the magen. the food was the one catastrophe, the service the other. the waiters were all unfriendly and inattentive. one of them each stepped on my feet under the table when he came to us. there was neither an apology nor that the timing of the various passages was enormously unsatisfactory. this is just a fraction of the negative points in this restaurant, all would blow up the frame."

"a little hidden above the piazza grande located restaurant, which belongs to the same name hotel, but definitely worth visiting. one feeds in historical spaces, with cross-rib vaults on the deck and ingenious. we couldn't use the beautiful courtyard due to weather conditions. we have tried the recommended menu, which awaited with great surprises. there is also a vegetarian menu, also that was highly recommended with fresh sushi. the risotto as the second floor perfect. wine selection very good, we only tried the open blanc de noir, tasty. reservation via internet without any problems. attentive and friendly service."

"I’ll start by saying that my Polpo croccante was very good and my parents’ Scialatielli con Code di Gambero were good as well. However, we will never come back to this restaurant on any of our future trips to Locarno. We arrived with our family of 7 and asked for a table. We did not have a reservation. The waiter gave us an excuse about how it would rain soon and that he could not give us a covered table. We said that it’s ok as the chances of it raining were pretty low. We got sat at two small tables barely big enough for four people. We asked if it would be possible to have an extra table and they said it wasn’t as we had not made a reservation and all other tables were reserved as it’s the 1st of August (a big holiday in Switzerland). We accepted without protesting although some tables had no reserved sign on them and proceeded to order drinks. We ordered two Hugo cocktails, four cokes and one Gin Mule. The Hugos barely had any Prosecco in it, my Gin Mule had zero taste of ginger and the cokes were from a pre-opened bottle and had lost all their bubbles and were flat just like my Gin Mule. We thought we’d brush it off and hope the food would be better and just order some wine and water for the meal. As mentioned before, most of the food was actually good, except for the extremely salted nuggets my niece ordered as well as the raw unseasoned chicken my other niece got. She did order the chicken breast on the black rock grill but I do think they could have pre grilled/seasoned it a minimum as it took a while for her to cook it all on the table. They also brought her some weird spicy sauce that was absolutely not the bbq sauce she ordered. A few minutes after we received our food, the lady who I think is the manager came to ask if everything was good. I told her that no it wasn’t and told her everything I just wrote. Instead of acknowledging everything I said about the food and drinks, her and the other employee who’d been serving us since we got there chose to focus on the table part and blame us for not having a reservation when really that was the least of our problem. They kept on blaming us and I repeatedly asked them to just let it go and let us eat in peace because I did not want to make a scene, wasn’t expecting any free things, only wanted them to hear our complaints but they kept on blaming us until I eventually almost yelled that we just wanted to eat and go and that mare them leave us alone. We finished our meals, paid and left as fast as we could. They were happy to take our money without even apologizing although they did not even provide us the ice cream that is included in the two children’s menu we got. It truly was the last straw. There are many many other good places to eat in Locarno but this place is definitely NOT one of them. They don’t care about their customers being satisfied at all."

"I came for the first time to dinner with friends and I have to say it was a nice surprise. located in the old town of locarno, from outside it is not striking. once you enter, you will find a well-kept room. Kind and discreet the waitress. good food card, varies the wine card. Prices aren't too much. The quality of the dishes is excellent. for the wine we unfortunately had to send back a couple of bottles, however without any problem. we then changed wine and everything went to the best. Quiet the place, finally a place where you can talk without having to scream and without background music to impossible volumes. To be recommended."

"I 've been to many Michelin starred restaurants and for me, Locanda Barbarossa stands out among them and is probably closer to a two than a one star place (in the best of ways . I loved the connection to locally sourced ingredients in the Sapori Del Orto menu. Each course was a culinary delight highlight chased highlight. I would like to particularly mention the beautiful interpretation of all things tomato: just an explosion of tomato flavour like I have not tasted before. I will also never forget the candied green walnuts on the risotto with figs and goats cheese (another plate of pure comfort and the confit lake trout with beurre blanc foam, or the veal tartare hidden in a flower of radish. The perfect end to the meal was a wonderfully sweet play on the blackberry, with a caramelized milk panna cotta that was to die for. I also added the foie and the braised beef ravioli to the tasting menu, and both dishes were absolute stand outs as well (the sauce and foam on the ravioli! . Service was very competent and efficient, proficient in all languages and always incredibly helpful with suggestions (and refills of the scrumptious maggia bread! . To boot, the restaurant is beautifully set in the outskirts of Ascona, and I was lucky enough to be able to eat in the garden perfect atmosphere! I really cannot recommend the place enough and hope to be able to return soon!"

Aus der Mexikanischen Küche gibt es Nachos ab 6.50 und Burritos für 9,90. Pizzen liegen zwischen 10.90 bis 16.90 (Singola und als Maxi bis 29.90. Dessert je 5, Franken, Diverse Packungen mit Tirmisu, etc.Mit gesunder Ernährung oder italienischer Küche hat das nichts zu tun. Die Preise sind für die wenig überzeugende Qualität recht hoch im Vergleich zu den umliegenden Restaurants sind sie wieder günstig."

"Ein wirklich typisches italienisches Restaurant und das in Locarno! Eine bessere Pizza zu finden wird schwerfallen. Bemerkenswert ist zudem, dass die meisten Serviceangestellten mehrheitlich in Italienisch mit den Gästen sprechen und nur in Ausnahmefällen die deutsche Sprache nutzen. Wunderbar, denn ansonsten hätte man ja die Pizza auch daheim um die Ecke geniessen können. Selbstverständlich bietet die Speisekarte auch die gesamte Vielfalt italienischer Speisen an! I must say amazing experience..a guy welcome us in a such professional and warm way. Great hospitality and the food was exellent. We start with Aperol Spritz and the waiter suggested a plate with ham and cheese to start with, omg was so nice to eat in front of the lake. As the main course we had two Frittura del Golfo and one Grilled Tuna with pistacho..superb. Exellent Service calm and relax atmosphere. "We went to locarno for a ride during the holidays that end today. Passing in front of this trattoria a very nice guy seeing that we looked at prices and menus advised us to eat here the square dish (menu of the day) saying that you were eating well. Convinced after a round we returned to eat, beautiful trattoria furnished with very fine goto. We have all taken the recommended square dish, a unique dish divided , zucchini soup, lemon risotto, halibut to Livorno, salad seasoned very well and finally smoothed with melon with port. Congratulations really delicious all with a Pinot gray. very good also the bread .simpaticissima the lady is all the staff but also a plauso to the kitchen. A special thanks to that guy who recommended us the place that I don't know the unique name regret not having done it in person. Thanks to all and compliments I highly recommend trying to who was at locarno or passing them"

"Wir waren dort am See baden und suchten ein Restaurant in der Nähe. Wir hatten und dann für dieses entschieden, weil es mittags sehr gut besucht war und auch charmant aussah! Die Bedienung war nett, aber auch etwas überfordert, da sich die Tische immer mehr füllten und nur eine Person im Service war anfangs. Wir bekamen so kleine Brotstückchen mit Käse und Schinken und hatten beim einen das Gefühl als wäre es bereits angeknabbert gewesen, daher liessen wir die Finger davon. Die Lasagne war ganz okay geschmacklich und der Steinpilzrisotto hatte eine tolle Farbe und war gut vom Geschmack her. Der Salat war auch okay, die Salatsauce lecker. Wir würden allerdings nicht mehr dorthin gehen."

"In this place everything is in order and clean; as far as I'm concerned, undoubtedly a plus! We ate the focaccia with kebab and the super piadina with felafel!
