"There is a lovely ambiance here, the novelty of a nicely furnished fish and chips restaurant is a definite crows pleaser. The quality of the fish is spot on, portions are generous and well presented. The only downside for me is that the staff are very robotic and not very welcoming or friendly. Front of house/hostess staff should take note of this a smile and a warm welcome for paying customers is always a winning combination. I always get the feeling when entering that i, the customer, have to please you in order to be able to eat at your establishment, when it should be the other way round, you should be making it welcoming for me to come and dine there. This has happened on the past 3 occasions and nothing has improved. It's a shame because it's lovely otherwise."

"My friends and I visited Brasserie Azure at the Leaside hotel for their Bottomless Prosecco and lunch event held every Sunday afternoon. It was fantastic! Our waitress, Nicola, explained the concept to us – you get a 2-hour time slot during which you can enjoy unlimited Prosecco, gin with mixer, or soft drinks (you can mix and match, not limited to one choice). They start you off with a selection of appetizers, followed by a variety of small dishes from their tapas menu. If you're still hungry, you can order more tapas or larger dishes. There are no hidden fees, and our glasses were constantly refilled. The amount of food provided was generous and delicious. For £25, it was great value for money. We had a wonderful time and stayed to enjoy a few more drinks on the patio after our time was up, thanks to the beautiful weather. We enjoyed it so much that we've already booked for Christmas and a few more visits in between!"

"We have visited the Wernher several times, and always enjoyed our meal, service and ambience. On this occasion we chose the tasting menu with the wine pairing menu. An excellent choice, the chef has carefully chosen such a great selection of seasonal dishes. The meal was faultless, and so delicious. Each course was served with a carefully chosen wine. Once again the selection was spot on. Each course and also each wine was explained and described once served at the table. The service was attentive and not intrusive. I had notified open Table that it was my husbands birthday but this information was not passed on.. That is the only negative comment, and it certainly did not mar the evening as the meal was so good."

"Great local village pub, hosts a great pub quiz every other Monday and serves beautiful food every day of the week! All staff are always super friendly and stop for a chat or to feed the dog a biscuit! We’ve eaten here as a couple countless times and never once had a complaint on food, every dish served has been great quality, generous portions and lovely presentation. Personal favourites of mine are the sirloin steak and the pasta bolognaise. My partner returns for the pork belly mash time and time again! This is also our favourite place to come to for a Sunday dinner, defo book if possible, they do have some availability for walk-ins but typically they are booked up all day and that speaks for itself."

"This was supposed to be a special 88th birthday lunch for my father. Firstly our drinks were forgotten about and took forever to arrive. The starters were very good and arrived together . We then waited an age for the main courses..... my fathers chicken dish arrived and we told him to start as it would get cold . Our salads failed to arrive despite asking several times if they would be arriving anytime soon . We were then told my father had been given his meal wrongly and it had been meant for someone else he had finished it by then ! Our salads eventually arrived with another chicken dish for dad which obviously he didn’t want . When it came to dessert he ordered the chocolate tarte and honeycomb ice cream which he was looking forward to trying . Unfortunately it arrived with no ice cream just a small blob of cream . We asked the waitress if there was supposed to be honeycomb ice cream yes she said and took it back . It later came back with the ice cream in place. The manager came over to apologise for our rather shambolic meal and said the kitchen was very busy due to the large number of golfers wanting burgers ??? Our desserts were taken off the bill, but a very disappointing “special occasion “."

"The food is absolutely amazing! and despite busy nights food is always delivered promptly. Succulent chicken, naan bread to die for and poppadoms that are out of this world. Cannot fault them. "Vwry good welcome and a lovely place but service was far to slow,the food was only average and very shocked when a piece of string was found in my daughters beef, which I did tell the head waiter about. The sweet were poor valve and when asked if cold custard could be warmed up as it was cold the answer was no. We were given discount for poor experience but will not return. Plus poorly signed posted and had to park a fare way which was difficult for my elderly father. So rates out of it"

"Dreadful experience mother’s day treat which turned into a disaster. We arrived with the two tables either side of us making complaints about how slow the service was and about the food. We waited 15 minutes for a jug of tap water, a further 15 minutes for our bottle of wine and an hour and a quarter for three Caesar salads and some poached haddock. The kitchen couldn’t cope with multiple tables ordering yet the restaurant was only half full. Won’t be going back"
