"I have visited Adam's Brasserie multiple times and have generally had a positive experience. However, during my most recent visit, there were a few minor issues that detracted from the overall enjoyment. We were seated at a table by a window that was letting in a draught, despite being closed. The head waiter explained that there was not much they could do about it due to the building being listed, but offered to move us to another table. We decided to stay at first, hoping the draught would subside, but eventually requested to be moved before our main course. Additionally, some of the vegetables we were served were undercooked to the point of being too hard. We chose not to raise these concerns with the staff at the time, but decided to try something different from the Christmas menu on our next visit. Despite these issues, the atmosphere was pleasant, and my carrot and fennel soup and dessert were delicious. Overall, aside from a few minor complaints, we enjoyed our experience at Adam's Brasserie."

A pleasant unrushed experience. We arrived at 12:15 and left at 1:50 after 2 courses. We were a party of 5 and enjoyed the food and drinks. Good value and a lovely setting.

The restaurant was extremely crowded, with one large group, and there were not enough staff to handle the demand. The limited selection of only three menu options was disappointing.

The restaurant was quiet as the lunch service was winding down. The food was a set menu which looked limited at first glance but it was incredible, delicious soup, tasty steak with garlic sauce and wonderful chocolate delice for pudding. The wine was warm and I should have asked it to be replaced with a chilled glass but that is slight niggle. Will definitely recommend. Ver carta

Dreadful experience mother’s day treat which turned into a disaster. We arrived with the two tables either side of us making complaints about how slow the service was and about the food. We waited 15 minutes for a jug of tap water, a further 15 minutes for our bottle of wine and an hour and a quarter for three Caesar salads and some poached haddock. The kitchen couldn’t cope with multiple tables ordering yet the restaurant was only half full. Won’t be going back

I had the beef carpaccio, which was delicious. My friend had the soup and was so absorbed in eating that there was hardly any conversation. For our main course, I had the steak, which was a bit tough despite being told so by the staff. My friend had the gnocchi and was silent as she enjoyed every bite. I might try it next time if it's available. Dessert was a strawberry and sherry trifle, which we both devoured without speaking. Our waitress checked on us regularly throughout the meal to ensure everything was to our liking. I always judge a restaurant by the cleanliness of the ladies' room, and Adam's Brasserie did not disappoint. It was spotless, with hand wash, hand cream, and individu...

"After reading all the good reviews we decided to try this restaurant and had high expectations We arrived to not a particularly warm welcome the waitress told us the specials were chicken, steak and veal and walked off no mention of how they were cooked or what sauces they came with and no prices after asking how the veal came the waitress had to go into kitchen and ask the chef who shouted out how they were cooked and the waitress then said did you hear that? we decided to just order off of the menu we ordered drinks to start with (a bottle of rose wine plonked on the table not even opened) when the lady came to take our order we asked if we could have a few minutes to finish our pre dinner drinks it was obviously a problem for her that we wanted to wait a short while and after being asked for about the fifth time we felt under pressure to place our order (even though the restaurant was half empty) whilst the pasta dishes were nice the garlic bread left a lot to be desired basically just a toasted slice of white dry bread as soon as we had finished our main course our plates were taken away and the bill put on the table we were not asked if we wanted anything else as we still had half a bottle of wine left we didn’t settle the bill straight away as we were enjoying our wine we lost count of the times they tried to ask us to pay again under immense pressure we paid and felt like we had to leave it was not a relaxing evening nor were we made to feel welcome. This restaurant specialises in pasta and pizza and we heard the waitress telling tow guys who wanted pizza that they only had enough dough left for one pizza they had run out and it was only 8.30! Overall our experience of this restaurant was very disappointing very rushed, unfriendly staff, no niceties and certainly not a relaxing evening we will not be returning."
