"Disappointing overall but prices are very reasonable for some items. It would help if there was a sign on arriving saying that it is counter service. We stood to the side for a while expecting to be seated as in the previous cafe. Nice and airy room but rather lacking in atmosphere. They have tried to brighten it up with rather revolting garish artificial flowers on the table which I moved off. Tasty carrot soup but one of us had to ask for it to be reheated. Sausage in a roll very enjoyable. Houlloumi salad was meant to be with lettuce and tomato. No tomato on roll, had to be asked for and presented chopped into pieces in a small bowl, better presentation would have helped. Also the lettuce was disgusting, a thick piece of the outer leaf of the vegetable, very off putting. Overall I am not sure if I would visit again except for just tea/coffee as the cakes looked good and good value. How can such an establishment which is newly opened with a lot of money be this disappointing. The staff could also have been a little more welcoming although the lady with the longer hair in plaits was very pleasant. Come on Malvern, don't let us down. Such a well known and well visited theatre with a lot of money recently put into it, why hasn't a little more been spent on this area. I am disappointed in myself having to write these comments."

"First visit to this restaurant and I’m sorry to say it’ll probably be the last which is a shame as it has the potential to be a fantastic establishment. My wife and I arrived with friends on a Saturday evening for a much looked forward to meal, only to be greeted by a very standoffish waiter and a dining room (the bistro lit brighter than a night match at Wembley stadium. After my retinas had got over the assault I was presented with what I first assumed was an old folks home only to be told that this was where we were eating. (Very disappointed to find out there was no bingo! The menu was great but unfortunately every dish came with a huge dollop of unasked for salt. I’d like to say that the waiter came over to enquire how the meal was but he didn’t. I’d also like to say that I was able to quench my now raging thirst with some delicious wine but we weren’t offered the wine list at any point despite a big deal being made of the wine cellar in the hotel description. We all finished our meals feeling quite disappointed and after a very brief discussion as to wether we should say something to the waiter we decided we were all far to British to cause a fuss and just wanted to pay the bill and leave. On payment in the reception we all noticed that the waiter seemed to be double checking to make sure that we’d actually paid the bill and not done a runner adding to a general feeling of feeling very unwelcome."

"We had lunch at Harrisons Restaurant in the Cadmore Lakeside Hotel, Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire in March 2019. The hotel is located next to a large lake and our table in the restaurant offered a beautiful view of the lake, fountain, and swans. We were the only guests in the lovely dining room and received exceptional service from the friendly and attentive staff, especially E. The Winter Menu had a variety of dishes to choose from, all of which were freshly prepared, hot, and presented on warm plates. The food was delicious and our overall experience was very enjoyable. We are looking forward to returning and highly recommend Harrisons Restaurant. The setting is gorgeous, the food is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. If you are planning a wedding or corporate event, this place offers everything you need - hotel accommodation with spa and swimming pool, top-notch restaurant, beautiful grounds for photos, and attentive staff who go above and beyond to ensure your visit is pleasant. The picturesque watermill on the grounds adds to the charm of this hidden gem in the Worcestershire countryside. It's definitely worth a visit!"

"Came here with the intention of eating. Checked the online sample menu which is posted on the pubs website before visiting but when I turned up the menu was nothing like the sample which was a shame. Decided not to eat because didn't like the sound of anything on the menu so decided to just have a drink instead, the actual menu did not resemble the sample in any way that was uploaded to the pubs website. Noticed that one of the locals ordered something not on the menu and it was delivered personally by the chef(male), I assumed it to be the chef as the man had a kitchen apron on. They both seemed to know each other very well, perhaps that's why they were allowed to order something they preferred and not on the menu. It seems that this is a community owned pub, owned by the community for the local community or that's how the menu appeared as if they catered for the shareholders rather than visitors from further afield. In a lovely location on the Malvern Hills, parking quite difficult but possible in a nearby lay-by a few minutes walk away."

"that was a good pub restaurant before. there seems to be a bad retention and a high turnover of employees who think about management. the steak I ordered was chewing and full gristle. I said the waitress politely that she would get the manager/Koch/Barman out of the kitchen. gary, the above mentioned helicopter of all trades, seems to do the work of all, instead of managing that he has not arrived. a few minutes later the waitress asked if we would like more drinks. I explained that I wanted to solve the problem first with my meal and she went back to the kitchen. finally gary arrived and in a very condesctive way explained that rib auge steak has some fat in it. I am aware of the sibling that gives taste, but not gristle and steak as hard as it is like chewing leather. in no phase I offered a replacement or another option, but after a waiting period of minutes since my complaining and the sight of cold gristle before me I was no longer hungry anyway. gary's attitude was risible. he has no customer service skills and did not make any excuse or offer of any kind to put it right. he simply produced a bill for the whole meal (minus the steak), which was wrong anyway, as there was an additional glass wee on it. he changed this with a pencil entry and stood above the table while we paid. we took family members to this pub and its attitude, lack of civil society and general ignorance made this a very unpleasant experience. we will never visit the dog again, a once excellent pub restaurant ruined by its bad administration and high turnover of unfortunate and overworked employees."

"Visited whilst staying in the area. Very busy which is usually a good sign. All tables, including us, had quite a long wait for food though. We had poppadoms followed by starters (vegetable samosa and onion bhaji) Poppadoms were not great as they were burnt but dips were very nice. Starters were ok. My husband said his bhajis were very good. My samosas tasted lovely but were a little on the cold side. Mains consisted of a chicken tikka jalfrezi and a mint lamb bhuna. Both tasted nice but pieces of the meat in both were tough. £50 including a lemonade and a pint of Cobra so average Indian Restaurant prices. Would possibly visit again. Nothing major to fault but nothing had the wow factor."

"We booked a table at least a week in advance for 2pm on Easter Sunday to dine two adults and a 3yr old. On arrival we was greeted and seated quickly. A drink was served on the table straight away a long with menus to browse over. People arriving after us are being seated either side and communicated to while the dining room is filling up. At least 35 minutes has passed since we arrived and the staff haven’t been to see if we were ready to order. The three of us are sitting with empty glasses awaiting communication. A quick glance at the front of house staff and they are all stood talking behind the bar drinking tea and coffee while the guy in the kitchen has come out to take the orders from the table behind us, their dinner arrives a short time after. Thinking this was odd I decided I would go for a walk up to the bar and ask to place a food order myself. Skipping starters now as our little girl getting very hungry and is starting to get upset because she would like some food. We decided to just go with mains as we needed to get some food for her soon. Our order was taken, sat back down patiently …still looking at our empty glass and it was clear no upselling was not happening and we waited another 30 minutes. An hour now passed in total, So we had another visit to the bar and asked if we could settle the drinks bill and sadly we will be on our way to find somewhere else to eat. Great for a drink in the sun next to the river. Cannot comment on the food but the service and communication was some what of a nightmare sadly ,it could have been a £100 plus cover. Such a shame. Would still recommend giving this place a try to others as it’s located in a beautiful spot, but on the day we had a bad experience."

"What a most unpleasant experience eating here. This is such a shame as it was our 4th time previously staying here and every time it has been fabulous food, service, accommodation. It seems to have new ownership and having being closed for a while has opened to very little staff serving the worst food I have ever been given. Firstly we ordered a bottle of Prosecco, it arrived, already opened with about 1/3rd gone from the bottle. This was quickly resolved. There was only one other table in the bar with us, yet once we ordered our food we waited about an hour. During this time we were told the ‘chef’ had to restart our order and we we offered a bowl of nuts. We ordered 3 cod and chips and 1 belly pork. When our food eventually arrived, I cut through my fish, which was still frozen and oozing with water. This could have made one of our party seriously Ill. the belly pork was bland, no colour, with a few veg that were limp to say the least. We told the manager, who was only on his first week of working there, who quickly took the food and asked if we wanted to eat anything else. We chose not to considering the poor quality food we were given. We did however decide to have a cheeseboard to share as we were so hungry. This arrived, with no crackers and one slice of stale bread. Again, inedible. We went to our room hoping that breakfast would be better. This in fact was just as bad. The black pudding was rock hard and the rest of the food Luke warm. We didn’t eat it and left straight away. I have been waiting to hear back from the owners with regards to an email I sent but after a week, am still waiting for a response! I will not go back here again which is such a shame! Avoid if you want to eat some nice food!"

"We went for Christmas day lunch. Firstly I will say the food was good and the staff friendly helpful. What marks it down for me was a few things. Real lack of atmosphere in the place, it was very quiet and we were in a room on our own. When the cutlery came out for desserts we got a mix of dessert spoons, soup spoons a tablespoon! My main issue is the walk to the toilets, the room you walk through is really empty apart from one table some other stored items. Then nothing beats standing at the urinals looking at a bunch of swear woods scratched into a piece of wood above the toilets. Family friendly those words aren't! Like I said the food was really good staff great. I'm just not sure I would make a special journey to come back again. It also looks like the pub needs some TLC. My actual score is 3.5 overall."

"A group of 6 to 8 retired or semi-retired individuals from Colwall regularly meet for breakfast, but this time decided to change things up and meet for lunch at The Wyche. The table booking was done efficiently a few days in advance, which may not be necessary at this time of year but certainly important during peak season. Despite having a few less people show up than originally booked, the staff accommodated us with a smile. Ordering drinks and meals was easy, even for those of us who are on a budget and don't want to pay extra for more expensive options. The menu was extensive with a variety of options to choose from. Among the six of us, we tried 5 different dishes, all of which were tasty and satisfying. I personally enjoyed the goat curry, which was flavorful without being overly spicy. The chips and rice were a great accompaniment, along with a small naan bread. The desserts were not sampled as we were trying to be moderate, though we were tempted. The selection of beer was good and the service was efficient and friendly throughout. Overall, we had a positive experience and would definitely consider returning in the near future."

"We were touring the Malvern Hills and as the organizer, I had to pick a restaurant that would satisfy six hungry bikers. I had dined at this restaurant before, so I felt confident in my choice, and it did not disappoint. Two of our group had been to Thailand and were familiar with Thai cuisine. They said the food here was just as good, if not better, than what they had in Thailand. Four of us shared a set meal for four, which was delicious, hot, and had generous portions without being overwhelming. The other two ordered separate dishes and also found them to be excellent. The beer was good, the prices were reasonable, and the restaurant was conveniently located near our hotel. Overall, a very satisfying experience."

"Not sure why there was reviews about a grumpy landlord, he welcomed us in and was very cheerful! We looked at a menu that was on the bar whilst waiting for our drinks. Landlord stated that food was served at 6pm (we arrived at 5.30) so didn’t mind sampling a few ales beforehand. Great choice of ales, well kept! I had the whitebait starter and my partner had prawn cocktail. Very delicious! We both had the rump steak, was very well cooked and nicely seasoned! Chips were yummy as well! Prices are fantastic! Waitress was attentive and polite! We didn’t have a dessert as were both full! Will definitely return when visiting the area again, which hopefully will be soon"

"Had a breakfast sandwich here today. Bread was great, sausages were wow but too many for one person. Only observation was too much ketchup. The sandwich was literally swimming in the stuff which, had I not just moved here, would have stopped me from popping...in again. However, the biggest turn off was the quality of coffee. Given Tenbury Wells has an abundance of coffee shops you would think one of them would actually provide a decent coffee bean to its customers. Surely if you open a cafe the priority is having outstanding coffee. There are folk who go to cafes simply for the coffee. Get that right and you get a customer for life. Get it wrong and your customers goes next door to the next cafe. As with wine, the difference between good and bad coffee is a few pence so there can be no excuses. Other opinions are available ps I will try the Spotty Dog again but not for its very poor coffee."

"i have not used Maylink for some time i fancied Chinese so i managed to get through on the phone to place my order. What with the Covid 19 going on there are not many Take Aways open so i did have to wait...which i was expecting. I decided on Sweet Sour Chicken Cantonese, Honey King Prawns Beef Chow Mien Fried Rice. he chicken on the sweet sour was soft tender and tasted fresh The honey king prawns as always were a good size cooked perfectly and tasted excellent The Beef chow mien was delicious beef was tender chow mien tasted great more importantly was NOT GREASY. I had a great mixture of food all cooked very nicely at a very good price. I have read some of the other reviews which were not good, but i must say Maylink are operating in difficult times they are not going to please every one all the time but they do not deserve the bad reviews in my opinion. Its a great Chinese Take Away that has served us well."

"This turned out to be a really unpleasant experience. Ordered food, which took an age to come. We understood and accepted that because the bar person was doing everything. We had to complain about the tasteless Lasagne. No bechemel, tiny amount of cheese (mozzarella only) and completely tasteless (lack of seasoning) also my wifes fish was practically raw. They didn 't replace the Lasagne and were a little stroppy, asking whats wrong with it! ... however they did replace the fish and chips but the batter was still sloppy and uncooked on the inside. Whilst the meal was being replaced there was an attitude, so i pointed out that my medium rare steak was infact blue and cold but i wasn 't complaining because i can eat my steak that way.... unfortunately the worst was to come On peying the bill, i was asked was the second fish ok., to which i replied to be honest, no. The batter was uncooked inside, but not to worry. I paid the full amount of the bill......BUT! AS WE WERE EXITING, THE BAR PERSON SHOUET SARCASTICALLY..... THANKYOU DONT COME BACK ! A really unprofessional end to what was a poor standard. So poor infact that i would have been within my rights not to pay."

"What a discovery! Especially since there are no recent reviews on Trip Advisor! The coffee, latte, and cappuccino are all excellent, and we consider ourselves to be coffee connoisseurs. The coffee is high quality with a great taste, perfect temperature (hot!), and just the right amount of milk. The carrot cake was the best we've ever had, absolutely superb. We will definitely be coming back, we really enjoyed our visit. This is a proper cafe with top-notch quality. The location is perfect for when you're out in the hills or just passing through the area."

"The Pepperpot Brasserie is at the White Lion Hotel, bang in the centre of Upton. If your idea of a great meal out is the latest gastro pub built from a catalogue and charging prices that are a step above their rank, then the Pepperpot is probably not for you. If you appreciate really excellent food ranging from the traditional to the innovative at a very fair price and with excellent service in more traditional (but not dated) surroundings then the Pepperpot is the best for miles around. I visited again for a weekday Lunch on the 16 June 2017 and have to say the new menus are better than ever. For starter I had the Duck Confit with Balsamic Roast Plumb (off the Al a Carte menu). It was superb nice crispy skin but the meat lovely and moist. Really tasty and nicely complemented by the plumbs. Would definitely have again. For main course I chose the Gourmet Stack off the Summer Lunch Menu. Try this and you will never want to order a burger again! Forget burgers, this is a beautiful layer of quality Fillet of Beef (really tasty and tender) topped with slices of tender and lightly peppered chicken and finished off with a piece of quality bacon and a little mustard dressing. All served in a bread bun which put the typical burger bun to shame. Just all real good quality meat! Fries on the side together with an mayonnaise and relish to finish it off. A burger at a gastro pub? No thanks, never again! I finished off with a wonderful cheesecake which was server with fresh fruit berries and was golden literally! Yes, topped off with gold leaf. Everything is fresh and if you have any special dietary requirements whether personal choice or medically dictated they will do their very best to accommodate you with style! John and Chris who the White Lion deserve real praise for putting such effort into ensuring that their food is really something special, that the service is efficient and friendly and that the prices are no higher than so many places that just cant compare. They have just celebrated their 20th anniversary running the hotel and restaurant, and with so many places changing hands every few years that is a real testament to their skills and hard work. There are Lunch, Dinner ' Board ', A la Carte and Lunchtime Quick Fix (fixed price) menus plus the obligatory Sunday Lunch Menu. So no excused not to give it a try! I eat out a lot, have been coming here for 20 years and it still has its place at the top of the list!"
