"The first time in my life that I leave a bad review. We had to move our seats after sitting because there were 7 8 big flies sitting on the window. The food was okay. We had tasting menu. Wild boar ragu pasta not sure what to say. My husband's court had so much fluid after he was done while mine wasn't. Beef stew had too many peppercorns, but maybe it's just not my style. The worst part was service. Our server (not all with glasses, didn't know the name because he never introduced himself with his name) has never checked us ONCE. No one asked us how our court/how was our dinner. My wine glass was empty after my pasta court no one came to see if I wanted the second glass. Overall the place was beautiful with great views. But I was disappointed and will never come back."

"Sometimes good things happen by sheer accident and lucky you are if it should come your way. And so am grateful for this eventful day when we found ourselves in need of making a pit stop while we were in Tuscany. And it was in San Casciano, a beautiful little village with some ancient ruins and kind people. We were anxious for a good cup of coffee and chose this bright and fun looking caffé called Blu Bar Bistrot. And we enjoyed some of the best served cappuccinos we have ever tried. And that is not an exaggeration. Two of the most cheerful and professional and kind people who own this caffé are a joy to be around. Luisa and Luca and what a couple. So inviting and so informative. Maybe they should call their hangout L&L Amore Caffé, because when you sit on their patio you feel Dean Martin singing That’s Amore!"

"Siamo stati in questo bistrot per una serata tra amici, e devo dire che siamo stati veramente bene. Il locale è molto carino e tenuto con gusto, il personale gentile e simpatico. Le portate sono di buona qualità, ottima la pizza, ma anche i piatti a base di pesce sono molto buoni. C'è vasta scelta e sentendo anche il parere degli altri commensali sembrerebbe veramente tutto ottimo. I prezzi sono assolutamente giusti, ho pagato decisamente di più e mangiando peggio in altri posti, quindi direi che tutto è andato nel migliore dei modi. Saremo spesso in toscana a trovare gli amici e se ci sarà l'opportunità torneremo senz' altro. GRAZIE!"

"Per me è stata una piacevole scoperta ...non lo conoscevo... piccolo borgo nel Chianti Fiorentino, il ristorante è in un fienile ristrutturato e arredato con gusto e personalità. Il personale è preparato e ti consiglia sia nella scelta dei piatti che nella scelta dei vini . Buonissimo l'uovo cotto a bassa temperatura al tartufo così come la tartare .... ma strepitosa è stata la crema bruciata al lime accompagnata con un vino dolce ovviamente consigliato dal cameriere . Non è in una strada di passaggio, ma vale la pena fare una deviazione per arrivarci ."

The second time in four, same dishes of the previous (antipasti and seconds), ok.Third time always in four at dinner, full room, endless waiting and only acceptable dishes. Fourth time at lunch in 6, full room (however there will be 6 tables), kitchen in tilt, appetizers after an hour, inevitable, seconds after another 55’ and numerous stresses, cold and hard pork steak, the owner apologized. Three stars hoping the fourth visit was just an accident, sin."

"We first visited Restaurant Casalta more than 20 years ago as a young couple on the cusp of getting married in Firenze. We ate there practically every day the food was so delicious. Last month we returned with our daughters, 17 15, two decades later the food was as consistent as it ever was really excellent Italian food cooked fresh and with great service to match. Maria’s ravioli with porcini mushrooms and truffles were as delicious as i remembered them. She really is an amazing cook and would rival any food you’d eat at the likes of The Ivy (it’s seriously that good). Giulia, with her beautiful smile and excellent English, was 16 when we last saw her she’s now 36 and in charge of the restaurant, which is always full of locals Italian families, as well as visitors to the area like us. The family sell their own gorgeous Casalta wine and olive oil. I highly recommend both and they are available to buy so we brought some home to England with us! Twenty years on since first dining here it’s clear the family take pride in the dishes they cook and serve. Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality!"

"My wife I are back in San Casciano V.P. after a 4-year hiatus (Covid . We were still adjusting to the time and were searching for dinner well before the normal Italian dinner time. Looking through Trip Advisor it appeared that Antica Calcinaia was open. When we drove the short distance and walked towards the door, a lady approached us and said the restaurant did not open until 1900. We asked her if she knew of another place that would be open. She went inside and returned saying that they would be happy to serve us (two hours before openning time! . Maybe I should have led with this... the food and the service were FANTASTIC! We shared a cheese flan and a charcuterie board. Both were very delicious along with the homemade bread and olive oil (which was delicious as well . The chiati was very good. For our first course I had the pasta with boar and my wife has the rossoto. Both meals were fantastic. When we go out, we always ask each other if we would order it again? We both were positvie we would. We would like to thank Antica Calcinaia for being so hospitable to open early for us, giving us our own private venue. The staff were very nice and the boss thanked us over and over for coming and invited us back to eat on the terrace. WE WILL!"

"Male.. veramente male... Ho chiamato per prendere 4 pizze da asporto, e già all ordine ci sono state grosse difficoltà per la musica a gran volume che c'era sotto.. ma tralasciando questo, sono arrivato in pizzeria senza sapere quello che stava per accadere.. ho preso le mie quattro pizze (con un mezzo errore anche mio perché non le ho controllate a dovere ma la signorina alla casa ha ripetuto 6 volte le pizze che volevo al pizzaiolo), gira e rigira pago.. da 8.50 per una prosciutto cotto e funghi a 11.50 per una salsiccia e patatine che devo dire quest' ultimo mi sembra molto esagerato comuqnue, arrivato a casa.. sto ancheabbastanza lontano da lì ma vicino a me tutte le pizzerie erano piene anche per l asporto, arrivo a casa apro le pizze e tutte e 4 le pizze che chi avevano dato erano sbagliate...avevo una prosciutto e funghi, salsiccia e gorgonzola, un calzone ai 4 formaggi e una salsiccia e patatine e mi son ritrovato con una marinara, una spech e Philadelphia, una salame e gorgonzola e una funghi porcini, la quale, quest' ultima, è arrivata con il cartone tutto bagnato non so da cosa olio o acqua dei funghi... Non ho richiamato in quanto non mi sarei rifatto un viaggio di mezz'ora tra andata e ritorno per farmi cambiare le pizze... In buona sostanza sono rimasto molto deluso dal servizio molto confusionario, e soprattutto anche dei prezzi spropositati rispetto alle altre pizzerie di paese.."

"We decided after much deliberation to visit this restaurant. with so many to choose from and reading so many reviews we booked here, and are we pleased we did. From the atmosphere, to the friendliness of the staff, to the table seating and then the food. It was one of the best meals we have ever had and that is no exaggeration. So flavoursome. We are going to book again when i next visit, I just hope after this review everyone doesnt suddenly book and there is no room for The Elliotts. The whole experience was finished off with the offer of Lemocello or Grappa! which my husband partook and told me that also was one of the best he has ever tasted. As for the price/bill that alone stunned us! for the quality of the food for the price. So in short if you are visiting San Casciano I suggest you visit this restaurant, but I would also suggest you book. It was busy for a reason"

"My wife and I used Antica Dolce Forneria to supply breads and a wedding cake for our wedding on the 9th of September this year. We found them to be extremely accommodating with our requests and helped us in ordering the correct quantities. During our week’s stay we also came to the shop most days to buy breads/pastries and cheese. I would highly recommend this place for breads/pastries and special order cakes, we were very happy we chose them to help cater our wedding."

"Il locale è carino, anche se si potrebbe sfruttare meglio l'area esterna. Il personale è mediamente gentile fatta eccezione per una cameriera poco preparata e poco disponibile. Il problema sono i tempi lunghissimi della cucina, abbondante di attesa solo per ricevere l'antipasto. Se sapete di questi problemi mettete sul tavolo qualche stuzzichino, due fette con l'olio, sicuramente eviterà tanti malumori. Il cibo è buono, ma il rapporto qualità prezzo non eccezionale, prezzi un po' troppo alti a mio parere."

"Ambient was really great, real Tuscany. House wine was also great, both white and red. Food was good, only one appetizer with white beans wasn't good. Main dishes were tasteful, but there were no siders included in main dish. We have ordered some grilled vegetabels but we got spinach as salad. I would recommend cups with mushrooms as appetizer, it was great."
