"About forty years ago, I was occasionally a guest at the Blumenhof. At that time I had a bachelor's life, and the floweryard, located very close to my apartment at that time, served me as a start-up station if I wanted to go to eat delicious alone or with friends. Later, now married and sedentary at some distance to the Blumenhof, the restaurant was occasionally worth a visit. From these four decades has remained in my memory: good and tasty food, prices reasonable, service professional. One reason for my wife and me to strike again at the Blumenhof. The Blumenhof on Mendener Straße in Sankt Augustin-Mülldorf owes its name to its location. The restaurant, built on a detached house, on the corner of Mendener Strasse/Blumenstraße, is located on the entrance side of an access road to the so-called flower settlement, in which the flower road passes to the tulip path and branches off from the first of the Narzissen, Veilchen and Dahlienweg. This situation has probably inspired the Bosnian gastronomic family, now in the second generation, for naming. At the entrance to the restaurant on the Blumenstraße, parking spaces are created, which could be scarce with numerous motorized guests. Under the lettering “Restaurant Blumenhof” that spans the entrance area, we enter the dining area. Here is a friendly young gentleman who accompanies us to the previously reserved table. Our table is located in a “department” separated by table-high separations, each with two fours and two two tables at the window front of the restaurant to the Blumenstraße. On one side of the tables to the separation, a dark red primed upholstery bench with vertical black stripes offers seating for guests. On the other side of the tables are identically padded chairs. On our arrival, our “compartment” is occupied only at one of the two four tables, later at all four tables. This compartment-like division extends over the entire, quite large guest room. Summers offers a terrace additional space for guests. We feel comfortable at our table, a pleasant ambience to eat well. The friendly young gentleman from the Entrée pushes a slate table with the daily offers to our table, fills us with the menus and lets us choose. A daily offer on the slate board is very good for my wife. The menu is characterized internationally with food from beef, pig, lamb, poultry, calf and grilled specialities such as in traditional Yugoslav restaurants. Vegetarians are equally found. Prices are available in the regional area. We have time to choose. A lady, routined in appearance, friendly and hospitable, takes up our order so routined that she does not need any block, pen or digital helper to store. Her visual-spatial note block of the work memory is enough. In general, the service does a perfect job. Both the lady and the Lord are courteous, professional and make sure that the guest is to feel comfortable. They ask for further wishes whether it has tasted whether everything is right. The lady remembers: • Entenbrust with orange sauce, broccoli and rice (29,50 € from the daily menu for my loved ones, • Grilled lamb fillets in garlic sauce with seasonal vegetables and potato gratin (27,50 € for me and as an appetizer for me a • Bovine boar with vegetable julienne (4,50 €). Special gourmet medium (0.75 l for 7.50 € for my enthusiasts who declared themselves a carriage on the bock, and • a squirrel gray burgundy, QbA, dry, winery pine, oak sticks (0.2 l for 5,90 €). The oak vine drink does not remain solo during the evening. Drinks don't let them wait long. The young man serves them appropriately cooled. Little later, the lady serves us the greeting from the kitchen. Greeting from the kitchen The greeting from the kitchen remains on average. They are no longer crispy, rather saltless baguette slices, butter and a herbal cucumber with many red sprinkles, probably paprika and tomato. Well! My appetizer follows after a reasonable waiting period. The lady serves the soup, which is easily swept over the plated throat. Bovine force broth with vegetable julienne The strength broth is adorned with the cow's origin. It is plentiful with vegetable jelly, pancake strips – “Flädle” in the Swabian – are not missing either. A cattle force broth according to my gusto, hot and authentic in taste. A warm, yes hot, pleasant intro into the main dish of the already cool autumn evening. Our main foods follow. Entenbrust with orange sauce, broccoli and rice The optically beautifully presented dish makes my wife look good. The pink roasted duck breast with well-brown skin convinces by its tenderness and juice. The meat and the tasty sauce are well seasoned, as well as the broccoli, which is cooked with a light butter note. Also wonderful buttrig is the fine basmati rice, perfectly cooked, without being sticky. My dearest is more than satisfied with her choice. Grilled lamb fillets in garlic sauce with seasonal vegetables and potato gratin The lamb fillets, the three of them in the number, are super tender. They are no longer as pink as the duck breast on my wife's plate, yet soft and juicy. The garlic sauce has a note that matches its name and tastes excellent. The seasonal vegetables consist of boiled carrots, broccoli and cauliflower and are cooked and bite-resistant. The potato gratin complements the round of the lamb fillets and is unfortunately somewhat too dry. The wonderful garlic sauce makes up this deficit. Compared to past decades, our rating has changed little: good and tasty food, prices reasonable. We are very happy with our courts, yes, my wife is even delighted. As far as cleanliness is concerned, there is no reason for criticism in the guest or toilet areas. The men's toilet is very well maintained and very clean. Before paying, the lady asks from the service for a drink at the expense of the house, just as it used to be the “Croat” and also here in the Blumenhof. We choose two Sliwowitz who, due to the alcohol abstinence of my loved ones, end up eating, which I do not regret. Delicious, tasty and a matching finish. The guest at the Blumenhof can pay by cash, but also electronically by Maestro, Visa or Giro card. We pay easily via Apple Pay, the tip cash added. The prices in the Blumenhof are still as suitable as they were about forty years ago. Here you get a good kitchen and service for your money. This leads to the conclusion that I have drawn about forty years ago: The Blumenhof is worth a visit. For the prices invoked, the guest receives a kitchen of high levels, consistently reasonable price. A visit to the Blumenhof is worthwhile, so not only me, but also my wife."

"Already at the breakfast table is the decision: We go to El Toro tonight, a steak house in Saint Augustin Menden. About four years ago we were already a guest at El Toro with friends – then still in Cologne Wahn, where today the L 'Arena Steaks offers. In 2012, El Toro from Cologne Wahn moved to Saint Augustin. The Ambience Today, El Toro invites its guests to stay at the Siegstraße in the St. Augustin district of Menden. Access to the restaurant is not on the Siegstraße, but on the Siegburger Straße, which opens next to the house. There are few parking spaces directly at the entrance to the restaurant, in the surrounding streets there are other parking spaces. The restaurant is located in a half-timbered house, the compartments whitewashed, the wooden beams black painted, classic mountain style. This technical style can be found in the interior. The walls are kept in a technical style, the compartments are partly red, partly bright beige, almost white, the beams throughout black. A long counter in front of the entrance area is followed by a large guest room on the right hand, a smaller space on the left hand, which is separated from a larger guest room by a semi-high wall on which gray arches are placed. The room ceilings are bright beige, like the padded seats and backrests of the chairs and benches. The wood of the seating is kept black like the tables. On the left side of the counter at the entrance to the kitchen is a large stone oven, an extension to an Italian component in 2014, as can be seen on the website of the restaurant. Overall, the ambience is pleasant and cozy, four stars. At the entrance to the restaurant, a young man welcomes us extremely friendly, almost so friendly that it seems exaggerated. During the evening he takes care of us, always friendly, professional and up to an exception quickly. After he has offered us places to choose from and we have taken place, we have to wait for a while for the menus and the beverage order. With an apology for waiting, he will finally present us the cards and a performer with daily dishes. The first drinks he receives (a 0.7 l bottle of Italian mineral water to five euros and a 0.4 l of pils from the Eifel to 3.40 euros), he brings to our table after a short waiting period. As the young man takes care of the evening about us, he earned a smooth good, four stars for the service. The El Toro offers food in the categories meat and fish and pizza and pasta – a two-component offer from South American and Italian cuisine. Among meat and fish there is a typical Argentinian food offer: hip, rag, fillet steaks, meat skewers, grill plates, empanadas. All meat dishes are offered with a foilnkartoffel with sour cream and salad dressing. The foil potato can be exchanged for potato corners, croquettes or fries without any extra cost. The price level for meat dishes ranges from €15.50 to €28 (Filetsteak Gigante , 350 g . The fish offer is smaller, a good handful of dishes in the price range from 16.50 € to 20. €. Among pizza and pasta is the typical offer of a pizzeria, from Margherita to Quattro Formaggi, Lasagne, Tortellini, Maccheroni, Tagliatelle, Spaghetti in zig variations and a range of insalates . In this section, the ten euros for pizza Bresaola are the highest price. We choose the kitchen in which the name of the restaurant indicates and leave the Italian component to the left. We decide – the Filetsteak Pequeño (about 200 g from the Argentinean cattle to 21. € and – the grill plate Gaucho (Hüftsteak, Rumpsteak, Filetsteak and Chimichurri evenfallls at € 21. We exchange the foil potatoes for alternatives. My better half chooses potato corners and additionally a portion of Chimichurri (2nd € to the fillet steak, and to my three steaks on the grill plate I wish fries. The greeting from the kitchen does not allow long to wait. It is an international greeting. A small bowl of Aioli and the freshly baked pizza rolls are still so hot that you can hardly touch them. A Chimichurri peel supplies the South American component. Tastefully everything is excellent, nothing indicates Convenience products, but rather homemade. Together with the greeting from the kitchen, the friendly young man serves the side salads: various leaf salads, tomato, cucumber, onion, ruccola and corn, dressed with a sauce of unmistakable yogurt. The salads are fresh and taste excellent with the yogurt preparation. Even with the sauce there are no signs of industrial goods. This so far successful start of the foods increases our expectations. And we won't be disappointed. On two large rectangular plates, the friendly young man serves us the little Filetsteak and the Steak Trio. The first cut into the flesh, the first bite, and we both swarm: Excellent! . The steaks are really juicy, as ordered medium fried, tender and have roasted aroma. I work with my three steaks in the order of meat quality, first the hip steak, then the bump steak and the best last, the fillet steak and have no reason to complain. On the contrary: everything perfectly prepared. The potato corners to the small fillet steak are apparently in the friteuse, not heated on the sheet. They are quite uniform brown all around, but not greasy and taste very good. The fries to the grill plate are also pleasantly browned and tastefully perfect. At the last bite we agree: these were excellent meat preparations. Here the chef dominates the grill art. We award a very good one for the dishes, so five stars. After this excellent food we can enjoy an espresso (2nd € ), which is served nicely hot, and an Italian gastrointestine (3rd €). In the guest room we can't find a cleanliness manko. The tables, the dishes and the best corners are brightly clean. The toilets are clean, both the ladies and the men's toilet. For cleanliness, we have four stars. The price / performance ratio (4,5 stars For the good 57. We have been well served on the evening and excellently cooked. The price/performance ratio is therefore well and very good with four and a half stars. The conclusion (4,5 stars Already when we visited El Toro in Cologne Wahn about four years ago, we were not disappointed. This time we evaluate our visit as better than at the time. We rate the El Toro overall with rounded four and a half stars and recommend the restaurant completely."

"With a friendly couple we want a little in the evening of the 16th. Celebrate January. But the 16th is a Monday – not so easy to find a restaurant that opens. We find one – a former railway station restoration at the Hangelar stop of the Brölthaler Railway from Bonn Beuel to Waldbröl, Germany's first narrow track. Today, the former station restoration is a restaurant with Mediterranean flair and operates under the name “The Bell”. Another comment: Some of the pictures are “covered”. The light conditions and shadows were unfavourable, and I didn't want to flash. The ambience Located on the only main road through Hangelar, Colognestraße, a magnificent, two-storey, ocher-coloured building with pale in the roof lap not only visually, but also acoustically because of a bell-play with Westminster hit on a corner of the building. In the parterre of this building, “The Bell” offers plenty of space for guests in five rooms: in the arcade restaurant, in the “Terrace” room, in the conservatory, in the wine bar and in the bar. In summer the courtyard with Koi pond is also used. For us is reserved in the conservatory, a largely glazed room, of course also with glass roof. In the wooden construction of the glass roof partly colored light bulbs, partly beige ball bulbs, are hanging, which immerse the space in gentle light as at sunset. Bright beige basket chairs are around covered tables on which top corners, napkins and tabletops are professionally oriented. Salt and pepper mill are not missing, and a color matching Gerbera flower in a veshes also not. We've been sitting here for the evening. However, we changed from a previously taken table on an outer glass wall of the room to a table in the interior of the room, as the glass walls radiated the cold outside onto the squares on the glass wall. Four stars seem justified to us for the ambience. The service A young lady serves us the evening. A smaller group and another pair of side tables are also served by it. They're the only guests in the conservatory as long as we're here. The young lady is doing a good job. She is friendly and attentive, occasionally lets humor flash and served professionally. She asks at all corridors whether it tastes and whether everything is right. It is attentive when it comes to drinking and cleanse properly used dishes only when all ate. The service of the young lady is worth four stars. Food and Beverage The service is enough for us the menus and gives us time to choose drinks on our request. So first we study the food and drink cards. The menu has a Mediterranean impact on the large part. But also typical German bourgeois dishes such as Wiener Schnitzel from the pork fillet with roast potatoes and fresh salad are offered alongside Mediterranean starters and salads, soups, flame cakes, pasta, meat and fish, vegetarian dishes and desserts. Prices are within the framework of what is common in the Rhine-Westphalian smaller cities in this gastronomy category. The young lady gives us enough time to choose. After all, she writes quite classically on her block as appetizers • four times herds with baconcroissinis at 4,80 EUR and as main foods • two fish plates with spices, oven tomatoes and herbal potatoes at 21,00 EUR each, one for my sweetheart and one for the lady of the beloved couple, • Wiener Schnitzel from the pork fillet with roast potatoes EUR 50 My wife previously asked what fish is being served on the fish plate. Our young lady asks in the kitchen as the fish varieties on the fish plate vary depending on the offer, and finally calls us salmon, zander, Dorade fillets and shrimps. As a first drink we order • twice white house wine, a gray burgundy, 0.2 l for 4.90 € for the two ladies, • a Paulan yeast beer for our friend 0.5 l for € 4. and a • soft Paulaner Helles 0.5 l for € 4. for me as a driver. The drinks come quickly and properly tempered on the table. Shortly afterwards, the young lady brings us the greeting from the kitchen. Red pesto and herbal cream In two bowls we serve a red pesto and a herbal cream, both very tasteful and well seasoned. There is bread. Baguette and whole grain baguette with sesame and linseed Baguette and whole grain baguette with sesame and linseed are served as bread. The bread is fresh and crispy. The greeting from the kitchen tastes very good. After greeting from the kitchen we don't wait long for our soups. The soup plates are glowing, already recognizing that our young lady carries them on the table with several layers of serving cloths. And she expressly warns us with a “preview, very hot!” completely right. Accordingly, the soup is also tempered, but not as hot as the plates. The soup unites everything a good beef broth should have. Vegetables, carrots, porridge, celery is beautifully bite-resistant. The soup tastes us fours very good. There's a soup called Speckcroissinis. Speckcroissinis Eight crispy baguette slices are well covered with roasted bacon and onion pieces. In the cold winter weather these power packs do well with the hot soup and also taste hearty and very good. However, they also sat well, which makes themselves felt at the end of the appetizer and after greeting from the kitchen. On hot plates and soup, the service lady serves the main dishes. My wife and friend get the fish plate. Fish plate with spider and oven tomatoes The three fish fillets and two shrimps are accompanied by spinach, which is shaped into a cylinder, and four cherry tomatoes. The fish fillets are juicy roasted and well seasoned. The spinach, cooked together with onion pieces, requires a spice and then tastes good, as well as the gently decorated tomatoes. The herbal potatoes and a sauce with herbal cream sauce are served in two bowls. Herbal Potatoes Herb cream sauce The herbal potatoes are swung in butter and have to be reproached. The herb cream sauce does not convince. The fish fillets, however, have enough juice and spice even without sauce. The young lady serves the wildragout. Wildragout in cranberry sauce with apple red cabbage and marons The ragout is beautifully tender and partly disintegrates on the tongue. The added sauce is of beautiful consistency and underlines the taste of wild meat. Some marons and apple slices with a slightly acidic touch bring a tasteful but suitable variety. The cranberry sauce forms a tasteful contrast. I am inspired by the apple red cabbage, which – also in cylinder form – lies next to the meat. A slightly acidic note from the apples used comes through. I like the red cabbage. A bowl with butter spets is served. The butter parrots are apparently made themselves. They taste good and are cooked to the point. However, I only ate a small portion – the greeting from the kitchen and the soup with the Speckcroissinis! In front of the main dishes, the young lady served our friend's side salad. Our friend did not stunt badly when the young lady served the Wiener Schnitzel from the pork fillet. Wiener Schnitzel vom Schweinfilet Two thin, crispy-panned carving giants lie on the plate. Pommes are served fries. Our friend is very happy with his food – as we all do. And we all have to fight with the crowd, we have underestimated the effect of baconcroissinis, soup and greeting from the kitchen. So no one has any more desire for a dessert. But it should be a “permanent”. Three abundantly gifted Averna 0.04 l to 3,40 € find the way to our table. And as a driver, I look enviously at how the three enjoy the bitter. My wife finally enjoys a hot espresso €2.20 . We are all very satisfied with the kitchen performance. We all tasted good, and we give four stars for food and drinks. Cleanliness The guest room in which we sat is clean. Tables, dishes and cutlery are also immaculate. The toilets, both men and women's toilets, are also well maintained and picobello clean. Four stars for cleanliness! The price / performance ratio We enjoyed tasty dishes and are satisfied and have traveled home more than saturated. The service also did a good job. So what does the price/performance ratio mean to be good? Four stars! The conclusion “The Bell” convinced us and our friends. We were not in the “Glocke” for the first time. However, these visits have been back a few years. The good impression we had at the time was confirmed. “The bell” deserves to be recommended. That's why four stars as a conclusion. We'll be happy to return here."

"The Piazza Siciliana da Sebastiano in Colognestraße in Sankt Augustiner Ortsteil Hangelar has not been forgotten by us. We have been here several times, last with a friendly couple in May 2022 and then again in September 2022. For the last visit see my criticism of 6 September 2022. Good experiences want to be revived. So the friended couple, with whom we had eaten with Sebastiano in May 2022, stimulates a return visit. The summer warm 20. June should be the day of the hopefully renewed enjoyment experience. To the ambience I wrote in detail in my previous review. For us Four is reserved on the terrace – thanks to roofing, it is perfectly protected from the crowds that are threatening this evening and then also in use later. A little early, my wife and I are at the reception desk at the entrance of the restaurant, which acts as a relic from Corona times. The young lady who works there leads us to the reserved table on the covered part of the terrace, after a little waiting time comes our friendly couple. There is a lot to tell so much that we hardly come to study the menus that are already on the table. A lady from the service team, who seems to be recruited in family, pushes a slate table with the daily dishes at our table. The service team, this time a young man and feels a football team, mixed with young and older ladies has not lost anything of the professionalism of past times. The fish I'm going to order will again be shown by one of the trained ladies. The family seems to be the foundation for the success of the restaurant business – nonno e nonnina, padre e madre, figlio e figlia e nipoti. It takes a while to choose. My wife decides for • Doraden-Lachs Saltimbocca with potatoes and vegetables (24,90 € from the daily ticket. For me it should be from the day ticket • Dorade from the grill with potatoes and day vegetables (26.90 €. Never change a winning team, I was very happy last time with the Dorade. Our couple decides for • Fatuccine with summer truffles (20,90 € and, if I remember correctly, for • Insalata della casa – mixed salad, tuna, ham, cheese, shrimps, yogurt dressing (14,90 €). Before that, one of the professionally active ladies has already brought us drinks that are served properly cooled. Harmonically, the XX and XY chromosome straps of our table opposite to Kölsch, my wife chooses a • three-quarter litre bottle San Pellegrino (7,20 € and I as a mountainous Jong first one • Bergisches Landbier (0,3 l to 3,60 €). In the following I go closer to what my wife and I have eaten, in summary I tell you about the eating experience of our table partners. As we wait for our main foods, the time passes as we fly – we have a lot to tell. Our leasing is abruptly interrupted, the head of the house begins with the fillet operation. It first promotes the bags of my Dorade on the edge of my plate, carefully lays down the dorade sides liberated from the head and fins. Dorade in the filling process To the Dorade, the Chef Kraüteröl serves me herbal oil and rosemary sprinkles with spinach rosemary sprinkles with spinach supplied with these accessories, I devote myself to the fully filed Mediterranean fish Dorade – completely fileted As with the last visit I enjoy the fish, which is practically free of bones and which I drink with the tasty herbal oil. It is juicy cooked and made very tasty thanks to seasoning. The rosemary spoons also taste excellent, beautifully roasted and perfectly cooked. The spinach is also tastefully seasoned and does not miss the necessary Knobi note. My wife is thrilled by her court, which she had enjoyed very much during the penultimate visit in May 2022. Doraden-Lachs Saltimbocca The Italian classic shows itself here in an exceptional fish variant: Two dorade fillets are covered with the usual sage leaves and have received a hood of smoked salmon fillet. Completed with a spicy white wine sauce, this composition of my enthusiasts is once again excellent. Even the supplements – rosemary spices and spinach as with my dish – leave nothing to be desired. Our friends are also very happy with their courts. In the case of cleanliness and price/performance ratio, it remains with the good reviews that we submitted in autumn 2022. Once again we have not been disappointed and will be happy to come back. And again a smooth recommendation for Piazza Siciliana da Sebastiano."

"Mongolengrill Shanghai is a restaurant that I like to visit again and again. Not because it is so perfect, but because it is quite cheap at noon (Chinese lunch buffet: Monday Saturday from 11:30 p.m. 2:30 p.m. (except on Sundays 1 plate 6.90 euros (also for taking away buffet total 8.50 euros). Prices for children from 6 12 years 5,90 Euro and for children under 6 years free! b me fascinated by the evening Mongolian grill/Chinabuffet, because: really delicious and not expensive. Mongolic buffet and Chinese buffet total 15.90 Euro (All you can eat children up to 12 years 8.50 Euro. Free for children under 6 years of age. Happy Hour So and holidays 12.90€ from 15:00 17:00. The establishment of the large restaurant is pleasantly simple, there are several separable premises (for celebrations and the like, and the main dining room where the Chinese and the Mongolian buffet are also presented. I say Chinese buffet knows everyone, the Mongolian is definitely recommended: A good selection of sea fish and seafood, meat (depending on season from lamb, deer, kangaroo, ostrich, beef, pig, plus a nice fresh vegetables selection, which is made raw on his plate to refine them with the great sauce selection plus optional spices (the staff does not speak much in themselves, but one explains very much how the mongolic buffet works there. The 1 2 chefs fried in turn and quite flight find the leaks their place to table. Sometimes the ingredients get a bit messed up in high-farming, but you usually go on hunting at the buffet several times. They are just a pure broth from a concentrate and from tasty far away. I always reject the gifted cocktail with a friendly frozen smile and prefer to knabbere only on the gifted lucky cookie. What was at last on one: Sometimes less is more. In large and whole a super grounded restaurant with the Mongolian grill highlight, family-friendly and also almost barrier-free for cyclists (1 stage at the entrance . Parking is sufficient at the house and surroundings."
