"Just because you have some young people eat at your place doesn 't mean you can treat them with contempt. They are paying customers at the end of the day! My daughters and a few friends called in this evening and all ordered a meal. My daughter was brought two of the same meal and obviously told the male member of staff she 'd only ordered one (she didn 't get his name as he wasn 't wearing a badge). He plonked the food down, rolled his eyes and said angrily you 'll have to eat it, I won 't be taking it back . This is not how to speak to a paying customer, I don 't care how old they are. She paid via the app and double the money was taken. She called me to ask what to do but I 've told her we will sort it with the bank. I wish I 'd asked her to get his name. He then brought another plate for my daughters friend and he told her the plate was hot (he held it with a towel) as he passed it to her in her hands, how strange! Yes it was too hot but thanks for not putting it on the table! I will be calling head office about this. The whole experience was humiliating for my daughter, she eats out quite a lot and knows how to speak respectfully to people. I know it 's only a cheap place to eat but that doesn 't mean the quality of customer service should be this bad. If your staff don 't want to speak politely maybe they should be doing a job where they don 't have to directly speak with paying customers."

"Dined with family midweek, on the whole it was delightful, however you are presented with a mass of contradictions. On arrival, the venue is what you could politely describe as underwhelming, the exterior is a rather ugly 1970s facade, which has limited scope for improving. The interior could easily be upgraded, at the moment the rough wooden bar, tarten tab top curtain, garish paintwork and shabby fishing tackle boxes don 't present themselves as fine dining, which is what you would expect for the prices. Due to an unavoidable issue with supply, we were not able to order our preferred choice of lobster, however everything we did order was absolutely delightful. The mussels were cooked perfectly, the batter for the tempura prawns was light and crisp and the salad dressings were tasty. For main courses we mostly ended up opting for steak, the fillet was a really good cut, very flavoursome and cooked exactly as requested, I don 't usually have sauces with steak (garlic butter being the standard preference) but chose for the mushroom sauce it was so tasty, and plenty of it. The vegetables were nicely seasoned but a little overcooked for my liking, (but I 'm not sure if that 's down to the demographic, which was predominantly winter, from what we saw of our fellow diners). The Wagyu burger was one of the 'best ever tasted ', and the Surf and Turf was delicious according to the recipient. The deserts were the only real let down, and I would say not up to the same standards as the savoury food. We took an early sitting, by the time we left the restaurant was full no sign of an economic downturn here, and there were clearly a lot of regulars. The service was, for the most part good, the staff were all friendly and helpful but our glasses often needed refilling and crumbs were left on the table, which, again, for the prices in the restaurant, you would expect those things to be taken care of. All in all, the food was great, the service was good but other aspects could be improved to make it perfect."

"My twin brother Stephen and I dropped into The Victoria Pub and what a lovely visit.Walking ‍ in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here, a light and airy interior, an island style serving bar, nice decor and furnishings ,tv 's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling promenade. We were here on a Friday afternoon, pub was busy, we gave our details of name, phone number or email address to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands, we had a study of their real ale 's and in the end we both opted to have Sharpe Brewery pale ale these were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. This is certainly a popular pub, on our visit, the atmospheric was spot on ,staff maintained social distances for patrons and there were hand sanitisers placed at various points throughout the pub.My pale ale was really good, a crisp, well balanced pale ale with a big hit of hops, very easily to drink, a real ale style both myself and my twin brother Stephen are particularly fond of. We both really enjoyed our pale ale 's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Victoria Pub is easy to locate along Stanley Terrace .Opening hours are;Monday to Thursday, Midday till Midnight. Friday Saturday, Midday till 1am.Sunday, Midday till Midnight. A great pub, well worth a visit if you 're in the area."
