"This was our first visit, and I don’t think we’ll be rushing back, sad to say. We had taken our granddaughter for afternoon tea for her birthday. On arrival we were given a small bowl of crisps and a small bowl of sausage roll, cut into small pieces. I don’t think the sausage roll was homemade, it definitely didn’t taste like it. We had a pot of tea and a pot of coffee and were asked what cake we would like from a choice of 4 different ones. I thought it was unusual to be asked what cake we would like as usually you’re just given a selection. We were also asked if we wanted fruit or pIain scones again usually there’s just a mix of different ones on the cake stand. Both the cake and the scones were very, very dry, and I would have thought shop bought. The sandwiches were nothing to write home about, cheese, ham and egg mayonnaise. Usually I would expect a bit more than a plain cheese sandwich in fairly stale bread for afternoon tea. I’ve had afternoon tea in a few different places and this was the poorest I’ve had. We paid £64 for 4 of us and I certainly don’t think we had good value for money. The lady that served us was very nice, but I didn’t feel we could say anything at the time as it was quite busy in there, with hindsight we should have done. I’m upset that our experience was not what we expected, we live local to the tea rooms and like to support local businesses, but if we want afternoon tea again we’ll be going elsewhere."

"My family and I have eaten here on several occasions and have been impressed every time. We ate there when it had first opened and could not have been happier with the overall experience. The food was incredible and the service was wonderful. We most...recently dined here on Valentines day. They were offering a course set menu starting with a Kir Royale on arrival. Unfortunately when my husband and I arrived we were greeted with Prosecco which was very nice but not what we were expecting. We did mention it to the waitress and it was rectified immediately and generously they left us with the Prosecco too. The waitress then took our order but told us that the soup that was on the menu was no longer being served, It had been changed. Fortunately neither of us had planned to have this. The waitress stated that there was no need to order our desserts until later. The Amuse-Bouche arrived which was lobster en croute and it was divine! The chicken liver pate was wonderful and the smoked duck and orange salad that my husband ordered was very moreish. This was followed by the first of two pallet cleansers. A mango sorbet which was to die for. Mango sorbet made with coconut milk and a beautifully sweet yet rich mango sauce. I followed that with a lobster cocktail and my husband had the Thai crab cakes. Unlike most fish/crab cakes that i have tried before these seemed to be filled mostly with crab and not potato which felt quite luxurious. They were so flavoursome! This was followed by the second sorbet of the evening which was lemon. Very tart and very tasty. My husband and I wanted to have the Chateaubriand for It was by far the best steak either of us had ever eaten and I have eaten a lot! They came over to take our dessert order. I asked for the Crème Brulee but they said they didn't have any. I was so so disappointed. The restaurant had released this menu approximately weeks before the evening so I had been looking forward to this for some time! My husbands sticky toffee pudding however.....went down a storm. We were also offered another glass of Prosecco each (on the house) which was a nice touch. The whole meal was topped off with coffee, petit four and a rose (which we had to remind them of). As we had to remind them they also offered my husband one too. They may have to be reminded of the odd thing and I appreciate they shouldn't have to be but they rectify every situation immediately and the customer service was faultless. Many people that I have spoken to claim that all of this for seems like a lot of money. I completely disagree! That is a great price for fine dining for that many courses! We live close enough to walk to it so no taxi required and we needed to buy no drinks at all. Definitely worth a try and its wonderful to have fine dining just up the road. There are a few things that could be addressed but definitely not the food. Try it!"

"This was my email to the company, take my review from there: Hi I visited your Lakeside branch today after being a regular visit to the Bluewater branch I was expecting the same brilliant service and food, unfortunately not! It must of been around 4-5pm, when we walked in there was a sign saying the fryers were broken but then it turned out they weren’t which we was pleased about. We seated ourselves as no one acknowledged us. Next to us was a lady on a laptop who I assume was the manager, she was the most miserable women I have ever laid eyes on! No smile just sat there on her laptop made us feel a bit awkward as we were directly in-front of her. Anyway ordered our sumo katsu chicken curry which came out with our starters! I started to eat my Katsu and the rice was so cold (not what I am used to at Bluewater) I called the waiter over who had been playing with a chess board previously.. He came over and when I asked about the rice he went off to get it re-heated (no apology) he then went to the moody manager who stared at us like we had made a fuss over nothing, he came back and said that they couldn’t reheat and that the rice is always cold? Sorry I have eaten at Bluewater many times and its never ever been cold! It ruins the curry! He said they could make us another one but would be 45minutes as the rice needed cooking? But then it wasn’t going to be that long and we were given new ones, the waiter went back to playing chess.. no one asked if the rice was better this time! Just zero customer service, I have always been a fan of yosushi and was really disappointed, even the dishes going round were all the same no deserts or green beans! I just felt we paid £45 for an awful meal really and we both left so disappointed."
