"Very mixed experience. We love Bella Italia. The food was fabulous, beautiful location, lovely atmosphere. However, we felt there was an issue which could have been handled much better than it was. My daughter who is 3 months away from being 17 asked for an alcoholic drink with her meal. As a personal licence holder and having done all the training, I knew this was perfectly legal and was OK with her request. She never ever drinks alcohol but as we were on holiday, she thought, yeah go on, I 'll try something. When she went to order she was refused, as it was explained that despite it being legal, Bella Italia have chosen as the licence holder not to allow this. OK that 's fine, that 's their prerogative. She was happy to order a soft drink, not at all bothered. My mum ordered a cocktail and when it came she said my daughter could taste some of it, which she did. She had a small amount of my mums drink. I didn 't really bat an eyelid and take much notice, it was very little, she was happy, my mum was happy and we were having a lovely evening. Good food, great atmosphere. Really lovely. Then the waitress asked if anyone would like another drink and my mum asked for another cocktail. The waitress said well my Manager 's been watching you, and they know she 's been drinking some so it may be refused . I explained that it was perfectly legal for her to have some with a meal, and the waitress said it wasn 't their policy. I said we were responsible adults and wouldn 't allow her to drink, as such. That was that. No drink ever appeared for my mum. No one returned to the table to explain that the order was refused or kindly ask us not to allow my daughter to have any of it, should we order more, or offer my mum another choice of drink. Nothing. We were made to feel like we 'd done something really really bad. Almost being told off and refused any further alcoholic drinks. In our opinion, it could have been handled so much better. The Manager 'Adam ' never put in an appearance to explain his decision, or ask that if we had more drinks we didn 't allow my daughter to have any. We would have been fine with that, and just said 'ops sorry yeah, our bad ', but nothing. We were just well and truly treated pretty badly I feel. With a bit of contempt. If my daughter was necking all the alcohol on the table, I get it, but seriously. The amount she had was minimal. I felt the reaction was over the top, and they completely spoilt our night. Very unnecessary. And to think the Manager has time to stand there and watch customers in that way, made us feel very uncomfortable. Very poor customer service and in my opinion, an unnecessary policy by Bella Italia. Some communication and discussion could have resolved it without us feeling as terrible as we were made to feel. Will not be choosing to eat here again, at Center Parcs. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5"

"I have stayed in many hotels big and small over the years, some good, some grim but the angel inn ticks all the boxes in every department especially the food. All meals are prepared from scratch, more than that they are prepared with expertise so your meal is a complete joy to eat whether it's breakfast lunch or dinner, you get the best prepared from the finest ingredients... I shitteth you not, every meal no matter what you choose is a joy to eat, prepared by someone who cares. I would return even if not staying just for the meals, I am serious on that. So if you want quality, real quality at a great price then book yourself in for lunch, dinner breakfast, or book all three you will not be disappointed, this I am certain of. Add to that staff that are friendly and who care, you don't get that very often these days and you are on a winner. The hotel is a 26th century coaching Inn and it still retains that with floors in the rooms that make you wobble and stairs that make you mutter, but that's all part of its charm and it can't be changes and I wouldn't have it any other way. I am told there have been guests who weren't happy with the floors and wanted the hotel to level them. We'll they can't it's a listed building that's full of charm it's warm, it's comfortable and you will want to return, unless of course you're a floor complainer then you've already got your head up your arse and can't be helped. If you just want warmth and a great welcome then you must come, the owners work here, they are superb, they will make your stay the best ever.....iain Rooms: Just great, wobbly 16th century floors make it a must, gig comfy bed big comfy bathroom, very warm, just book one Food drinks: Already said it all for the food"

"Service was poor! Food was great, albeit on the pricey side, but the quality and portion sizes were fantastic. Unfortunately the kitchen is severely let down by the front of house staff. This may be because we were seated in a separate room to the rear since other people mention the staff being very attentive. Upon arriving we were sat and given menus, when asked what drinks we would like, i asked what ales were on tap, the response was 'Lots ' followed by a blank stare, so i went to the bar to see for myself. There were 3 ales, surely not too many to remember! We also asked for 2 glasses of merlot, a couple of minutes later i was advised they don 't sell merlot by the glass, but they have Malbec instead, that 's fine. Another 5 minutes pass before they then tell me they don 't have any Malbec, I was starting to get bored by this point so just asked a bottle of the merlot, and was instead given a bottle of Malbec! After returning to the table with our drinks, our food orders were then taken, and no issues here at all, food was brilliant, nice rare beef, succulent porchetta with crispy crackling, praise all round from our table. Unfortunately no one came to check how the food was so we didn 't have an opportunity to ask for some table water, so another trip to the bar to ask. Politely mentioned to the manger that it would have been good to not have to come and ask, to which he was very grateful to be told this, as apparently so may people just leave bad reviews instead, but then he still didn 't bring us any water!! 20 minutes after finishing the meal there was no sign of any staff again, so i went to the bar to ask for the bill, this was bought out fairly promptly. but after another 10-15 minutes it was clear there was card machine coming, so yet another trip the bar to pay. The staff are all very young and green, which is no problem if they a good manager to lead and train them, unfortunately this is sorely missing, instead he just flaps around. I expect a newly opened venue to have some teething issues, but they have been open for 4 months, so the service really should be up to speed by now Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3"

"Certainly, here’s your feedback transformed into a review: My wife and I are regular patrons of this establishment, drawn by its prime location, beautiful garden, attentive staff, and exceptional roast dinners. However, our recent experience left me with mixed feelings. We visited for lunch two weeks ago and were delighted to find chicken wings on the menu, complete with a variety of sauces. As a self-proclaimed hot sauce enthusiast, I couldn’t resist. I must say, those wings were outstanding, with a delicious hot sauce that hit the spot. Our anticipation was high when we saw the “bottomless wings” offer, and we eagerly booked a table for today (25.10.23). I had been looking forward to this all day. The service started off on a positive note with a friendly and engaging barmaid who shared in my excitement for the wings. However, the disappointment came when the wings were served. They were simply not up to par with my previous visit. These were labeled as ‘premium wings,’ but they were heavily breaded and deep-fried, and the hot sauce lacked the same magic. I want to make it clear that I’m not writing this to be overly critical; I just wanted to express my honest disappointment. To prevent others from experiencing the same letdown, I intend to share my thoughts through various review platforms. I believe in transparency and hope this feedback will help improve the overall experience. In summary, a once delightful visit was marred by inconsistent quality. I trust the establishment can return to its former glory. And after writing a kind email, the rudeness of the manager!"

"We booked and attended during COVID times so please bear that in mind when reading. The wifi didn 't work and there was nothing to say that they knew of the problem, so spent ages (add did many others because mobile reception is poor in the area) trying to log in to order food and check in with the COVID app before asking and finding it would just say 'connecting please wait '. We ordered and then waited 90 minutes for the food. Shortly after ordering a burger we were told that they had run out of all burgers. A short time later another table had the same response but then were told that they had one left. The food was OK but certainly not up to the prices quoted. The soup was luke warm and in desperate need of seasoning. Mac and cheese tasted like it had come from a tin. It possibly hadn 't but that was the impression. The pork curry tasted like pork in blitzed tinned tomatoes with some onion and pepper to give some spice. Again, needed seasoning. Just nothing special. They did provide (unrequested) some free bread and dipping oils whilst we were waiting. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant. The Deverill beer, a local ale was excellent and tasted well conditioned. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant. The pub was scrupulously clean with good COVID compliance. We would go back to give them a second chance these are difficult times especially for the hospitality trade."
