"we recently had an extended lunch at this place as a group of 15 people, a part of my man's fitness club. ott’s leopoldhohe is just a few steps away from the slightly dry main tow and overlooks the Rhine Valley on the Vogesen...in frankreich am horizont as well as on the way down, where well, the arrival of the railway was, which caused a temporary village to the city status. the roots of this city go far further back to the Roman period, when emperor trajan there appeared about 100 n. chr. on the Roman route of augusta raurica am rhein in the Swiss to northern in germania. ott’s leopoldhohe is not as old, but it is a historical building that has been a restaurant for 182 years, and the current owner has it since 1994. the hotel restaurant has been beautifully renovated, but a cheerful and bright rustic charm preserved with a great local character; there are plenty of wood cladding for a warm atmosphere. we had our apero down in the cellar and they are trying to say, kerker as they narrow and well penetrated stone steps into a high cellar with a vaulted deck. it houses umpteen bottles of wine, much of it locally cultivated, as the region between the Rhine and the mountains of the Black Forest favor a moderate climate of the Mediterranean character, so that the area for weinberge that arrives near. large old wooden wine barrels rows a wall, now reports empty but, only for the atmosphere, of which this underground catacomb has a plentiful supply in any case. They expect the phantom of the opera to start at any time in passionate song or one of the less happy characters from one of the delicious hair-scattering edgar to all poe story, maybe a lament we were treated there with the wine too delicious appetizers; spit with juicy, hearty chicken pieces, cheese-poppers and veggie-poppers, all dlicious. back up in one of the dining areas, we sat on a forging table good, smaller tables pushed together. it is a white table cloth, bed linen serviette and cutlery that is the real article type of place, with wine glasses they can take a bath, all the real deal, up to small and flat, bowling bowls to pour some olive oil in to serve the French brot in woven baskets. now I love brot, but French brot tastes often like old and stale rubber seasoned with sawdust; this sort here was fresh and tasty with a slightly crispy crust. the dishes were chosen for our group: the choice was between osso buco with risotto or bark with cubed vegetables. I wanted a lighter meal: no problems, they were very flexible, and I got a large salat plate with many species of salad and sweet presented and grilled truthahnbrust ... it was totally delicious and delicious, the salad all fresh. the two meat dishes were also delicious, and they were large portions; but most tellers ended mimic. I had chocolate ice cream for dessert... also really good! the service was very, very friendly, attentive and prompt, the greeting we were given at the arrival was warm and welcoming. So to summarize it, there is not the least negative what I can say about this place, not even nyhting mediocre. great eating, beautiful atmosphere, friendly and good service, good value, even if it is more expensive than other places in the city, but the quality is exponentially higher than much of what is also here. this is a place for special occasions, for fine eating, for annual days, birthdays, any kind of famous meal or just an excellent lunch or dinner. because and surrounding cities, this is surely one of the best possibilities. I can't recommend that."
