"Came to this restaurant based on the many excellent reviews and the ‘buzz’ it has generated culminating in a ‘Bib Gourmand’ mention in the Guide Michelin (note this is not a ‘Star’ but sort of an honorable mention). The experience was nice but did not blow us away. We had the Omakase Menu. Some of the courses were really very nice, others so so at best. I was particularly disappointed by the Fish and the Meat (we did NOT have the Wagyu option). Brussel Sprouts and Tempura as well as the soup were very nice. Quantity of the Omakase Menu was almost too much for us from this point of view would say that it is not overly expensive for Zurich. Service was sub par, took at least 15 20mins from being seated to being asked for drinks, also during the course of the evening, service was unattentive despite staff constantly passing our table. Additionally, noone seemed to bother too much that we returned a significant part of 2 dishes for the reasons mentioned above. Would probably give it another shot and try some à la carte dishes."

"Very lovely experience. We have been twice and the coffee was excellent both times. I would recommend the chilli coffee, as it was very well balanced. Flambee was delicious and crispy. Service was very kind. Nice atmosphere too well located, and various sized tables."

"I don't say anything more about the fact that the food was almost cold despite the express delivery. Maybe UberEats is to blame; maybe not. But: the lamb was fatty, the dal was watery, the chicken was far dry and the rice wasn't what I ordered. Samosa was still the best, but only just. Perhaps the whole thing was seasoned in the cook's dream; no taste has been lost until the dish. With so much good Indian food on offer in the city, this one is completely unnecessary. Addendum: whoever wrote the restaurant's response would have to consider looking for a job outside of the hospitality industry. “Then next time, look for another restaurant.” Good advice, I will definitely follow it."

"Great sandwiches. Great vibe. American hip hop music. Trendy bar scene. Limited seating capacity. So all good… except not sure that they like tourists. Server NEVER stopped by our table once to check on us so if you’re a high maintenance patron then you would probably give this place a 3 star rather than 4. Server seemed much more attentive to Swiss/German speaking. I even did speak a little German to show effort as I believe that you should when in someone else’s country."

"This restUrNt was recommended by our hotel concierge and did not disappoint! We went on Monday, which is rib night. You get three different flavors of ribs and delicious wedge fries. My husband was very happy. I got a hamburger with fried onions which came with hash brown sticks, like French fries. Those were incredible. It was all good."

"I wish I could give a better note to the restaurant, after all the service and the place itself is very nice, including the very entertaining opera singing, but let's be honest: this is a restaurant, and the food was simply sub par. The soup noodle starter was very bland, lacking flavours and complexity. The vegetable pancake was nice, but nothing to rave about: a simple kind of fritada with spring onions and a sauce to dip in...simple in taste as in existence. The rice cake with the spicy sauce was very good. Not only was the chewyness of the rice on point, but also the balance of the sauce was spot on. Next, the fried chicken was also good, moist, and crunchy with a nice sweet and salty sauce. As a main, I had the beef, which also came with rice, kimichy, and pickled vegetables. This was a big disappointment: although the beef was tender, it lacked complexity, refinement and flavours. It was like drinking decaff coffee...decent, but absolutely forgettable. The dessert, a vanilla ice cream was also not very good, and most probably not homemade, tasting like some big low brands with lots of fake vanilla flavours. All that, unfortunately, came at a very high price when included tips and drinks. While prices for food in Switzerland are generally insanely high compared to other countries, what we paid here was beyond the acceptable norm given the level of the food."

"I recently visited at Napa Grill on my birthday, and it was an exceptional experience. Located near the Zurich Google office, the restaurant boasts a wonderful atmosphere that complements its culinary offerings. The menu at Napa Grill is a nod to tradition, featuring a selection of delicious dishes. I opted for the New York steak, which was perfectly accompanied by grilled vegetables and sweet potatoes. Each component of the meal was flavorful and well-prepared. It’s worth noting that every steakhouse has its own unique approach to preparing steaks, and Napa Grill was no exception. The taste was distinct and memorable. For my starter, I chose a special item from the menu. The quality and taste of this dish were truly remarkable, reflecting the restaurant’s commitment to excellence in every aspect of their offerings. Napa Grill’s extensive wine collection was impressive, and I was pleased to find my favorite Pinot Noir among their selection. The wine perfectly complemented my meal, enhancing the overall dining experience. A delightful surprise was the birthday cake, thoughtfully arranged by my girlfriend and presented by the restaurant. This thoughtful gesture added a personal touch to the celebration. In conclusion, I highly recommend Napa Grill to anyone looking to savor a new taste in grilled steak. While the prices may be slightly higher compared to other steakhouses, the exceptional food quality, customer service, and ambiance justify the expense. It is with great enthusiasm that I award Napa Grill a well-deserved five stars."

"This fancy restaurant in the center of Zurich didn 't convince me entirely and I think there are various areas for improvement as you 'll read below. Service was at least mostly polite. I ordered Zürcher geschnetzeltes with rösti, which is a typical local dish. They used an enormous amount of salt and the meat was cut slightly too thick in my view: I 'd expect more for the prices they charge. Also, when I asked for an IPA, I got strangely smiled at and asked and what would that be? ... I mean, it 's ok to not have IPA to sell, but you should at least know what it is if you 're in this business since it 's nothing ultra special. The place is only a couple of minutes away from Paradeplatz, so perfect location. The decor inside is ok, nothing spectacular. For some reason it gets super loud when the restaurant is busy, reducing a little the quality of the atmosphere."

"We stopped in for dinner while in Zurich and wrapping up our 8-day trip through Switzerland. We didn 't have reservations and when we arrived there was a line out the door; however, because there were only two of us, we were sat immediately at a communal table with about 9-10 others. The communal table provided us with the opportunity to have a great conversation and banter with 3 Ozzies, a young couple from the Chicago burbs, and about four older Swiss German ? travelers. I ordered the sausage sampler with potato salad and it was very tasty; the slight tang of the creamy potato salad helped to counter the richness and flavorful sausages. I also ordered the 'Beer Flambee with Fire Water ' which is basically a large martini glass into which they pour whiskey, light it on fire, and extinguish it with the house lager. It sounds and looks amazing, but in the end just tasted like a fresh beer and wasn 't much larger than a regular size order. There were little barley bits floating around in the beer which were a little annoying to drink around and I don 't believe added anything to the flavor. Our Australian tablemates ordered the 'Mayor 's Sword ' for 4 people and it truly was a sight to see; a full-sized sword wrapped in grilled meat came to the table. In essence the sword served as a large kabob blade for grilling the meat. Overall, the restaurant has a very entertaining atmosphere and playful theatrics. I 'd go back as the food was tasty and recommend others check it out; it 's a great time!"

Since the buffet ist pay-per-weight and the CHF 4.50 are charged per 100g, chances are, that the plate gets too full and would cost much more than intended... "Con Gusto has the best pizzas in the city of Zurich. Awesome pizzas that you can get here. The best pizza dough and the best topping ingredients. We are regulars and come here regularly. At Con Gusto you have to eat pizza and not anything else even though they offer it too. And I would recommend the local and not the delivery. "I went to eat here with my Afghan friend. We weren 't expecting such a busy restaurant, but we immediately noticed the beautiful decoration... we were lucky and were able to eat at one of about 5 carpet seat tables , i.e. traditionally sitting cross-legged on comfortable oriental cushions. I was actually expecting more Afghan staff like at the food festival, the ladies who served us weren 't really passionate about it, a waitress just came to our table and stared at us until we said something, EFZ won the lottery?, we greeted you the guests right?!….The food was good, but I have eaten better in some Afghan households. I think the prices are reasonable for Zurich, but I can 't recommend it to families with children... The desert menu is a bit poor and for me Afghan food doesn 't include alcohol! The corridor to the toilet is beautifully designed with pictures of early Afghanistan, the ceiling by the toilet is also beautiful with the lamps, but there shouldn 't be any of these socially critical comics on the doors...Despite the few points, I 'll definitely come back to eat there with my friend , it was very nostalgic for him!"

"One of the best burgers in Zurich. It is not #1 but is in the top 3! Price is more or less reasonable. We paid chf 60. for 2x burgers with frits and drinks. There are cheaper places, but they can't get up with quality. Meat Patty is juicy, brioche bread is fresh and fluffy. The only negative critic is the Burger sauces are kept simple ketchup and mayonnaise; limited sauce selection. I'd rather take a burger with Burger Master instead of McD! I always come back when I bless after a simple delicious burger!"

"TLDR: absolute perfection for family style, vegan Indonesian food! Atmosphere: clean, well manicured, stylish, and cozy. We loved every part of it. Service: kind, welcoming, on top of refills and asking for additional sauces. Not a single moment did we think that service could be improved. Food: we did the tasting menu and it was fantastic. My wife is Dutch and grew up with Indonesian food so she was in heaven trying so many dishes from her childhood. I have only really had Indonesian once prior and each dish was unique and great. I prefered the curries and my wife loved the drier dishes, but if I was served any of the tastings as a full dish, I would have left happy and full. I do think that a couple of the dishes were just a tad too salty, but not by much. It was a busy night for the kitchen, but I would just advise them to keep on tasting throughout the night, because I was definitely drinking lots of water by the end of the night. Regardless, I would travel to Zurich to eat here again and am very happy DAR one of only four dinners we had in Zurich. NOTE: Dessert is NOT included in the tasting menu. We were so full, we did not want it, but just be aware if you have a sweet tooth. For around $120 person, I could not have asked for more fair prices in one of the most expensive city in the world."

"Piu chose an interesting approach: For vegans, they create completely different vegetable based dishes, not vegan variations of existing ones. I tried the cauliflower on quinoa and found it quite interesting but not hugely impressive. Certainly a nice change, though. And there is a large outside seating area in good weather, though somewhat noisy. Update: Improved the rating for wide selection now. Update 2: The lasagne is pretty good but the panna cotta dessert is superior. Updated from previous review on 2022-03-27"
