"My room was wonderful! It was spacious. It had a killer view of the city and was tastefully furnished. Coming off a flight from SFO, I was delighted to see a Nespresso machine and four espresso pods in the tiny kitchenette. Here are a few random comments on the hotel and my room: On the 22nd floor where the lobby is located, there's a smoking lounge. The door to the room is typically left open; accordingly, there's a foul stale tobacco smell in the part of the 22nd floor where conference rooms are located. Yuck! The WiFi is free, but not super fast. I got a download speed of 1.0 Mbps and an upload speed of 2.8 Mbps. (This was a surprise because typically uploads are slower than downloads! Measuring the connection speed was a fun activity, but it maxed out my daily WiFi data allotment of 500MB! Fortunately for me, a kind staff member on the 22nd floor blessed my account so that I could log back in to the WiFi system. When I checked in, I was made to wait near the reception desk on the 22nd floor for about five minutes I couldn't just go to my room but needed to be accompanied by a staff member who would show me how things work. The staff member was somewhat helpful but actually gave me incorrect answers to the two questions that I asked: First, I pointed out that it was hot in the room and asked how I could lower the temperature. The staff member told me to rotate the temperature dial on the ventilation system to make the room cooler. What she failed to mention was the on off switch for the system. After I found it on my own, things were good. Next, I asked where I could plug in my laptop while it was on my desk. The staff member saw no nearby outlet and recommended that I move the laptop elsewhere in the room to charge it when it needed juice. In fact, there was a panel on the floor under the desk that concealed an unused outlet. Once I pried it open, I was fine. The room keys are prox cards that are needed to direct an elevator to the guest room floors. The card reader at the hotel entrance (0th floor wasn't working during my visit. (Maybe it never works. The only way for me to get to my floor from the street level was to go first to the 22nd floor, exit the elevator, swipe my card on the 22nd floor and then get back into an elevator. Innside it's complicated."
