We have eaten here a few times and the service has always been excellent pre covid and post covid food ok but tonight it was all absolutely excellent. Well done team 36 on the Quay, for our excellent meal. Service: 5 Location: 5

Beautiful and balanced flavours and priced very reasonably for the quality, with a friendly team and nice outlook. Grateful for the very kind and understanding service considering our toddler who decided to have a meltdown! Service: 5 Location: 5

Amazing Amazing Amazing. Celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. The staff gave us free bubbly. The menu was outstanding. We loved the starters a bit more than the main course. But all in all delicious and special. The views outside the restaurant are breath taking. Service: 5 Location: 5

Was looking forward to going out for a nice meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary was totally disappointed the starters and mains where at room temperature, was never asked how our meal was by the staff. Did not have the wine that I liked as they had none. Would not recommend to friends. Ver carta

Enjoyed a lovely evening away. The taster menu and wines were amazing, and the and the service was brilliant. Stayed in the Nutmeg Room. A cosy room, with views across the harbour. The room was comfortable and clean. Continental breakfast served in the room included croissants, pastries, orange juice, yoghurts, breakfast tea, and an assortment of breads and jam Would definitely recommend and visit again. Reviewing the restaurant (when will Google sort out the dilemma of eating places sometimes being sleeping places outside the US?! With the closure of Restaurant 27 in Southsea, the other numerical restaurant in SE Hampshire 36 On The Quay has the field almost to itself at the top end of the market. There are others, but these two stood out. It will now be even harder to get a reservation here but the wait is worth it. The food is really excellent and always a friendly smile with the service. The menus are different and unusual, miles away from the gastropub efforts more representative of middle England. Excellent wine list although the range of beers is minimal. It was a birthday treat to be taken here. Haven 't been for many years as it had a reputation for good food, but sky high prices. My experience, though, was of excellent restaurant, with good service; not pushy or slow, but attentive and efficient. Lovely ambience, not trying to hard, clean, and elegant. The 'tasters ' at the start were delightful... really did wake up the taste buds! Wine was OK, and the starters prompt and delicious smoked eel and pork belly not an obvious combination but scrummy. My main T bone pork beautifully cooked and the accompanying date chutney perfect! Partner had pork fillet, and tender and light it was. The pre pudding Q was quirky but as a palate cleanser, idea...
