"[UPDATED] Overall: Awesome except mac cheese. They've cut down on their menu items but still have generous portions of VERY delicious food. Recommended for dates, dark and personal atmosphere. [2nd] Upon our second visit, I've noticed that they took some items off their menu. This disappointed me, but they still had an interesting array of options. Their grilled chicken main is a deconstructed chicken balmoral, a delectable chicken and haggis dish with an amazing whisky cream sauce. Though not a large portion compared to the other options. Their venison and pork sausage was massive and juicy, and came with loads of chips. Their chips are more like mini wedges, they're so crispy with a nice fluff on the inside, and seasoned with some spices. So tasty!! My mother enjoyed her vegetarian burger, I thought it wasnt great but too each their own. They had a very dark atmosphere and we struggled to read the menu. [1st] Proper scottish scran in a lovely wee pub, got the cullen skink and mac (no photo . Mac was floury and not cheesy, not great. Cullen skink was creamy, smoky, and quite filling at 6.50. Friends had fish and chips (small was a good size for one! and steak pie, both said were good. Will come again for their other menu items!"

I had a couple of beers at this pub and enjoyed both the beer and the service, as well as the traditional Scottish ambiance which prevents me from giving these great places low ratings.

What a fun spot! Great prices, good food and friendly service! We stumbled upon it while walking and decided to go grab a bite. The food was delicious and the staff was so nice and friendly! They have big screen TVs to watch the matches so it was a fun afternoon!

Well we knew going into it that it was going to be so packed with locals-a Saturday night and England was playing Switzerland. We kept hoping to secure a table, but two beers in and we knew it was not goin to happens. It went into OT kids and well, you guessed ur, England won! It was insane with enthusiasm! We were able to get an order of fish and chips in and they were fabulous?
