Afternoon Tea At The Hyde Restaurant, Bar Garden

We loved it here. The staff (sudes) and other staff were fantastic. We had a voucher for a vegan high tea and loved it. 5* service 5* food Highly recommend

Staff was very courteous. It is a very very small and intimate space for afternoon tea. There was a choice of only four teas, would have liked more options. But the experience was nice and we had a great time. I would definitely recommend. A great place for afternoon tea off the beaten path.

Dreadful atmosphere, food was disappointing. Would be great if you could train your staff to be more discreet when pointing at the guests to their colleagues with their eyes. After this “gesture” from one of the waiters we did not feel welcome at all. Finished the food quickly and left. Disappointed

The staff, particularly our server, was friendly, but the service was extremely slow. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait quite a while. We arrived at 7:20 and didn't start our meal until 8:50. The food was just average and lacked balance; the purée was too sweet for the meat. Additionally, the turkey was inedible due to its chewiness. We were quite disappointed, especially since it was Christmas Day.

Well what can I say. The place looks lovely and has a good atmosphere but that is where my compliments stop. Poor service, comically slow and it would appear suspicious that a group of seven of us (from three different households) all developed within 24 to 48 hours diarrhoea and vomiting after eating here. We have reported this to Westminster council and hope they will be doing a full inspection of their kitchens.

Great ambience but that is where it ended waited 90 minutes to be served our stale sandwiches the scones were light and airy. We felt sorry for the waiter as he was covering all the tables and room service. Our tea arrived after we finished the sandwiches and then had to ask about the desserts. They were OK but at £35 a head for not good food or service and the loo needed cleaning as well. Huge potential but really disappointing

I visited this restaurant for the first time and had a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was cozy yet engaging. The afternoon tea was enjoyable and easy to navigate. There was a wide variety of teas to choose from, and my favorite was the Oolong Milk Tea. While the green tea was decent, it wasn't particularly memorable. The fillings in the sandwiches were quite unique, but unfortunately, the bread was a bit oxidized and nearly stale. Overall, I would definitely return multiple times, as the price per person is very reasonable for the level of service provided. Excellent!

The price included two scones with condiments, four finger sandwiches, a delightful assortment of pastries, and a pot of tea – all of which were delicious. However, the standout of our visit was definitely the service! Sudes was an AMAZING host. Despite having a lot to manage during our time there, he treated us with such elegance, patience, and kindness. He accommodated our dietary restrictions, took pictures for us, and engaged in a lovely conversation. I will certainly be bringing friends back to this wonderful spot, and I HIGHLY recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

We went here to get afternoon tea, which was 55£ through an offer online but with added service charge over 60£ for two. I explicitly wrote down that we’d like to have one vegan option and one non-vegan option. We were asked if we wanted to sit inside or in the garden and chose the garden because of the pleasant weather. However, this turned out to be a terrible decision. At no point in time after bringing the plate of sandwiches and the tea and taking our order did the waiters come out again. So in order to get more tea or water I had to go down the stairs and walk down the hallway just to get the attention of a waiter from the inside restaurant.
