"Popped in here when visiting the town and were more than happy with the service and food. My wife had the Tuna Mayo Baguette with myself having the Panini with similar filling. When they were delivered, the first thing that was noticeable was the good...amount of filling in each. To accompany, we had a bowl of chips which was again, a good portion. I would guess they were frozen fries but were crispy thin and really done to a tee. Lovely. Our drinks (tea and coffee) were excellent and a good tasty coffee it was. Nice little place. Nothing startling but a good choice for a snack."

Went here for breakfast and spotted the value breakfast which was perfect--egg/hash brown/beans/egg/sausage etc--it was so good I left a big tip as I felt guilty about it being so cheap

Just back from breakfast with my girls. We had an amazing breakfast!! Eggs Benedict x Bacon/egg and hash browns. The fresh orange juice is very good! Just what is needed before shopping. Ver carta

Friendly environment and staff. Good quality food and service. Good facilities and nice position in the High Street where all the relevant history of a very interesting nice town resides. Really recommend this pleasant family run restaurant.

Popped in for a last breakfast before my return to France. First time and choose the Full English breakfast. Everything was there. Coffee excellent. And for a Monday, it was very busy which is always a good sign of quality. Service quick, place very clean....I will return. Ver carta

A rare trip for us to East Grinstead. Found this cafe in what I guess is the older part of town. Turned out to be the best we have tried in a very long while. One full breakfast, one “pick-and-mix” both were exceptionally good and...very reasonably priced. It was noticeable how everything was freshly cooked and piping hot, lovely. Tea, coffee, and juice all good. Lovely staff, nothing too much trouble. Do try The Agora, it’s one of the best.

My wife and I have been to this café/restaurant or times over recent years whilst visiting our Daughter and Grandchildren who live in nearby Ashurst Wood. I remember taking our eldest Grandchild with us a few years back and we ate on that...occasion. The food and service was good and prices very reasonable. We visited again last week but just for a mid morning hot drink. As before service was prompt, tea and cappuccino hot and delicious and prices still very reasonable. Highly recommended.

"We go to Gravetye 3 or 4 times a year if we can and have been going for many many years over the tenures of several owners. It 's always a complete joy, and the current owner has done a fabulous job of getting the right people in, both inside and out. Tom Coward, the Head Gardener (ex. Dixter) has a vision and a long term plan that make continual visits over an extended period a joy every time we visit we are surprised by the continual changes we learn so much and the garden staff are super helpful and willing to discuss what they 're up to and why. The amazing oval massive kitchen garden that supplies the hotel is a source of wonderment and not to be missed. A visual and culinary feast. We 've never stayed there as we live reasonably close, but have eaten in both the old and new dining rooms many times. The new dining room sits harmoniously between the wings of the manor and although a very modern glass and steel construction, the inclusion of a fabulous antique (and uneven) parquet floor (ex. some french chateau) softens the feel and acoustics, making the room almost intimate. The floor to ceiling windows bring you right into the garden, even in the foulest of weather it 's a triumph of design. Then there 's the food. Apart from the presentation, which is exquisite, the flavours and textures always bring a broad grin, however grumpy I am! This is absolutely first rate British cuisine; the kitchen under Head Chef George Blogg is to be commended, as are the garden staff producing the freshest of produce. I occasionally try to photograph the plates, but invariably find I 've forgotten that rather crass move and have just launched in! Must also mention the front of house staff. Perfectly presented and mannered, they know exactly the boundary between staff and guest and make you feel completely comfortable and relaxed there is nothing stuffy or obsequious about Gravetye everything is pitched just spot on and nothing is too much trouble. We were there today for a birthday treat, but will be back again soon for a post family wedding get together. Cannot recommend too highly just an excellent few hours, whatever the weather. Walkability: Lots of paths. The lower areas are easy for those with limited mobility, however it might be tricky to get up to the kitchen garden if you 're not great on your feet. Food drinks: See my review."
