"almost by chance we decide to have lunch at the small ranch before returning from the holidays we were immediately greeted by the staff who sits in the shadow of a beautiful tree with a superb view, between Christ and sea. the good owner makes us feel at home. we take homemade dumplings with seasonal vegetables, tomato dumplings for the child and tomato ravioli! all outstanding: flavors of once, with dishes prepared with homemade pasta. plentiful portions and excellent flavor! great value for money and credit note the hospitality found! recommended to all those who want to eat to really get the traditional flavors of luca! the local is on the road to the Christ and also has a convenient parking near the local. Good!"

"ieri stavamo mangiando in questo posto molto bello con vista sull'intero porto. la sera l'atmosfera è davvero suggestiva, molto romantica contribuisce la musica sullo sfondo. abbiamo ordinato un sauté di cozze e vongole come antipasto, piatto molto fragrante, non delude le aspettative (salsa di svorio); seguito da uno scialle di vongola. ottima scelta di vini, con modesta qualità/prezzo. si deve dire una bella serata, anche grazie a rosita che ha soddisfatto tutte le nostre esigenze con velocità e tanta gentilezza. personale molto cortese! "Scialuppa 25 is located at Porto di Maratea in the quiet, somewhat sleepy, harbour. We had lunch at Scialuppa 25 twice during our stay in Maratea. Both lunches were very good-excellent with great welcoming service by Andreas. We just turned up without reservations and were given outside tables in an almost empty restaurant from which we could watch the comings and goings on the harbour front inasmuch as there were any. On each occasion, we ordered the house white, which was good enough for our very good seafood fare. On the first occasion, I ordered the fresh antipasto di mare, which was really too much so, on our second visit, I ordered the smaller, nicely flavoured insalata di mare, which my wife had ordered first time and was just right. For secondi, I had a beautifully grilled, fresh, large swordfish steak, which my wife had on our second visit. Both steaks were wonderful. On our second visit, I had the over-cooked polpetti in beautiful tomato sauce with a side order of vedure grilliate. How do they get their tomatoes so red? The polpo was tender and the sauce nicely flavoured. I would recommend both dishes. We finished with locally-made ice cream, which Andreas acquired from a nearby restaurant, a nice limoncello, and cafe. I guess the same folks own both restaurants. All together, both lunches were splendid occasions helped by the relaxed location and the friendly, efficient, staff. When we return to Maratea, Scialuppa 25 and Ristorante 1999 will be top of our lunch venue lists."

"we returned after a few days in this small and characteristic place where it seems to be family also for the pleasant chatter that you do with the managers, just a nice couple! food, like the other time, was sublime. we were delighted by a set of croutons, one more good than the other, with sauces that tell the tradition of Calabrian Lucca, and a mixture of black pig salami really amazing. What about the laganes with the raw pepper, which we have recovered because they had hit us the other time. They didn't betray expectations! all watered by a great pink aglianico. Congratulations! we promised to return next year also because the whole area is worth a holiday!"
