"Great staff so feel bad giving this place 1 star but the food was so below standard and nothing like any Greek restaurant I have been to before. There was regulars when we visited so I’m really not sure what we’re missing and they clearly get a lot of traffic from the nearby theatre. The starter of halloumi was 2 of the smallest slices of halloumi I have ever had my husbands whitebait was somewhat better but very soggy not what you want for whitebait. My main of swordfish is where my real issue lies, for the price I was first of all surprised to see it did not come with any sides literally a tiny bit of swordfish with some salad sitting in a sauce which made the lettuce wet. I would of expected at least some rice to come with this, had the swordfish been ok this would of least made up for this but it was again very wet like frozen swordfish I have had at home and had zero flavour!!!!!!! I don’t even think there was any seasoning on the fish, the sauce was ok but again had no real taste. My partners bbq meats weren’t much better the only thing we had which was lovely was the chips that come with my partners main. A real letdown wish I had stuck to the Italian restaurants down the road, we both left hungry with a large dent in our bank account to go with it."

beautiful restaurant. I enjoyed the huhn athenia and my man enjoyed the steak. excellent portion sizes and a very nice restaurant. we're coming back here.

Lovely and cosy restaurant, we really enjoyed ourselves. Lots of tasty food and good drinks too. We went for the traditional meze style plenty of dips with warm pitta bread to begin with...

Delicious food in pleasant surroundings with polite friendly staff, all in all a good place to go. I had the traditional food, Keftedes (meatballs) starter Pork Afelia both of which I would highly recommend.

fantastic event, great eating, beautiful staff. in this restaurant for a birthday meal. eating is incredible and the portions are very generous. I recommend the cuddly garlic bread and the BBQ bowl of steak, huh, lamb and pig. very well recommended.

great food, atmosphere and service. I had the BBQ court that had 4 types of meat, and the other plate is the lamb kleftico, which is probably their most popular. it has been a favorite of me for decades and has always been called the candles inn. Anyway, it's still a great place. perfect for a date night:

We have been going here for years as a family but recently visited for my Mum’s 50th birthday. They were amazingly accommodating in helping us set up decorations and keeping her (very large) birthday cake safe in their fridges. The whole evening was fantastic the food, service and atmosphere could not be faulted. Once again a brilliant experience at Akropolis and I don’t doubt we will be back very soon!

hidden on this little beauty by falling. I and the woman lived here to see rob beckett in the pavillon and went past the way to the hotel. my wife is half cypriot, so obviously she caught our eye. At the same time promise, as no booking took place and the staff was more than accommodating. eating was absolutely amazing and reasonable, I had lamb cuts and the woman had moussaka. all served by beautiful friendly staff. If I'm back in the opposite, I'd definitely go back. thanks!
