"Now, it may be that I have been spoiled by the transcendent pizzas of Tosolini's in Piacenza, and I am not a pizza chef, but I can readily distinguish between proscuitto (which is available in most parts of Europe) and mortadella, or some form of processed meat.My partner and I were hungry on our first night in Berlin (running a workshop here) and we ordered a couple of drinks and a simple, reliable favourite, a pizza with a tomato and mozzarella base and with proscuitto on it. I should note that our waiter was charming and spoke excellent English. He was clear which pizza I ordered, and I confirmed the verbal order by pointing at the appropriate place in the menu.When it arrived, the base was thin (no problem there), but in my view underdone (no browning on the outer crust anywhere), and the merest suggestion of a tomato base with mozzarella. But the startling aspect was the eight or ten slices of a substance that, clearly, had been processed, and which had the characteristic circular fat globules that this kind of meat shows when sliced paper thin.We were both hungry, and do not believe in either wasting food or sending it back if it's edible. I mentioned this (that the meat was not proscuitto) to the waiter when paying for it, but he chose not to engage. On reflection, I can partially see his reason (the customer ate it) but he did check the order, and confirmed that proscuitto had been nominated."

Danke an die Bedienung, welche immer sehr gut war, Preis-Leistung einfach genial! Die Pizzen sind sehr gut! Verbesserungspotential: Lasagne, zu wenig Pasta, zu viel Käse.

Spontan Abends auf Pasta und Pizzabrot und zwei (beworbene) Cocktails für je 3 € eingekehrt. Kellner freundlich. Pasta sehr gut. Pizzabrot unschlagbar und die Cocktails total wässrig, daher ungeniesbar. Ver carta

Das Ambiente entspricht meiner Auffassung nach einem italienischen Restaurants, also schon etwas schöner eingerichtet als in einer schnöden Pizzeria, auch der Service auf gutem Niveau. Die Preise angenehm niedrig, was mich schon etwas erstaunte bei der Aufmachung, und dann das Wichtigste: das Essen. Das war sicher nicht die beste Pizza, die ich gegessen habe, aber sehr sehr ordentlich, vor allem der Teig, sehr gut. Die Sauce für mich zu viel Säure, aber das ist natürlich auch Geschmackssache. Insgesamt ein sehr schönes Erlebnis.

Visited Al Dente having last been there two to three years ago. Al Dente is a basic, cheap Italian place with predominantly pizzas and pastas.We were five persons and all of us were very disappointed about the quality. We had bruschetta and salads as starters. The bruschetta was good, but it is in an insult to serve a salad supposed to be fresh and green and then the leaves are brownish, as they clearly had been cut hours ago. Further, it is not acceptable that large parts of the salad is the root, which is quite bitter, and not the leaves.We all chose different pastas as the main course, and we were all disappointed.
