Very good and fresh ingredients, but disappointing preparation. Vongole extremely salty, salad drowned in too much vinaigar, and pasta completely overcooked with an out of the can tasting sauce.

I love coming to this place. It's a hidden gem in Baden, right by the historic old bridge and serving some great Italian food with top-notch ingredients. And now that summer is here, they have a nice outside area as well, a rare treat in Baden.

Quite a nice Persian restaurant in the old town of Baden, near the wooden bridge. The starters having Humus, Aubergine paste was very nice just the pita bread was not enough. The choice of food is limited but taste and freshness of food was excellent.

Welch Freude, ein authentisch italienisches Restaurant was Stil und Küche anbelangt: in der Küche ist eine Seele am Werk, die italienisches slow- soulfood nicht nur versteht, sondern lebt. Allerfrischeste Speisen perfekt gekocht in unkompliziertem, aber stilvollem Ambiente. Come a casa di mia nonna!

Für mich ist es klar, wenn ich in Baden bin, geschäftlich oder privat, dann freue ich mich auf einen Besuch im „Grosser Alexander“. Das Essen ist jedesmal hervorragend und frisch. Die Qualität überzeugt jedes Mal. Vielen Dank auch dem freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Servicepersonal. Bis zum nächsten Mal!

I went with three friends to Grosser Alexander while staying in Baden. We had such an great meal. The risotto with prawns was so delicious! Desserts were likewise great, and I recommend the pistachio gelato. The whole night, we were very well cared for by the entire staff who were super friendly and helped with some translation questions we had. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Baden!

Since a few months this restaurant is now serving Persian/Iranian dishes and allows you to experience a total different kind of food. Persian restaurants are not that often seen nowadays and as far as I know this is the 1. one around Zurich. The offer a nice variety of food, see the online menu, and the size is good to good , you won't be hungry when you leave. Experience it yourself and discover the flavours of this cuisine

Nun, unsere Meinung zum Lokal ist ziemlich gemischt. Einerseits stören die enorm hohen Preise für Speis und Trank, der viel zu warm servierte (spanische! Wein und der Lärmpegel, so das Restaurant denn vollbesetzt ist.Andererseits war das Essen, abgesehen vom viel zu fettigen Kalbskotelett und der viel zu pfeffrigen Minestrone casalinga, gut, ohne aber wirklich zu begeistern.Auch der Service war sicherlich professionell, jedoch nicht besonders emphatisch.Insgesamt kann man durchaus einmal hier einkehren, wird aber kaum Stammgast und wie so häufig verstehen unsere Vorbewerter wenig von gutem Essen…

The wonderful people of Grosser Alexander really deliver on their promise “make fine dining fun again”. We ordered the big menu which consisted of 6 wonderfully crafted masterpieces containing the best products spring has to offer. All the ingredients are locally sourced. The super friendly staff was extremely attentive but in a wonderfully laid back way that felt less then restaurant and more like old friends. That the dishes are served by the chef personally makes the whole experience even more intimate. To summit all up I have to say that this is probably the best food experience I’ve ever had in my home Canton Aargau and the dishes also compare favorably with the big wigs on the national...
