"This place was wonderful! We had found it in our slow food guide for Italy, and after many mediocre meals, this was just what we were after. The location is beautiful, a lovely old land house with a beautiful view and courtyard we were too early for al fresco dining, but the restaurant itself was an experience. One tip for the non Italian speakers they will probably seat you in the pizzeria and you will get a pizza menu. However, if you ask for the ristorante menu, the maitre d ' will tell you what the antipastis, pastas and secondi available for that day are. He only speaks Italian, but with a bit of concentration you will understand most of it. We had the works full antipasti, pasta, and then a secondi I had the lamb in rosemary and olive oil, my husband the lamb in pistachios, and our friends the scampi and the pork chop). Everything was superb, but make sure you share, otherwise you will never finish! A word on the service, since it has been mentioned in other reviews: our service was perfect, everything came quickly and the maitre d ' was never far away. Mum was walking around checking that everything was ok and her son was greeting the guests. The final delight was dad at the door, with his pocket calculator and lamp, taking the money. A great experience, and very reasonably priced for what you get."

The location is amazing, especially during summer. It can get crowded, thus the service a little slow, but the food is great (though the pizza is too thick for my taste) and you can wait admiring the place and having a drink.

I definitely recommend a dining experience at this restaurant. The manager is a descendent of the Pensabene family, who received the Castle from Frederick IV. The Pensabene family has been owners of the Castle for about five centuries. The menu is based on a full Sicilian culinary experience, which includes primarily local foods and wines. Despite the main terrace is only at 89m above the sea level, a nice summer evening breeze cools the air and makes the summer al fresco dining very pleasant and enjoyable.

Sono tornato in questo posto incantevole dopo i cambiamenti fatti dalla proprietà e sono stato quindi molto curioso. Il menu, che non comprende più la pizza, al momento include solo degustazione (così non à la carte). Lo chef, nonostante la giovane età, ha esperienze di qualità e lo dimostra sia nella realizzazione di ottimi piatti sia nella costante sperimentazione: difficile da restituire e trovare lo stesso menu degustazione della settimana precedente. Serata con la famiglia, con due bambini, 9 e 12 anni, molto felice anche per il menu dei bambini e per gli spazi esterni; il maggiore ha goduto di alcuni corsi di adulti. Consigliato!
