"the old fire station (in English means the name old fire station) is a restaurant run by curt podobnik, a chef awarded with a Michelin star and various other awards. it is located in hurricane, near the city aachen and the Dutch and Belgian border. the restaurant is classic, but cosy furnishings, and the staff was attentive, without being intrusive. the menu changes regularly in order to offer seasonal feeds and presumably to create variety for master customers. we were there in December with a group of twelve people - so we managed to taste a good selection of dishes on the menu. all agreed - eating was excellent. there is a good selection of meat and fish dishes and also vegetarian is provided, although there is not much choice. when I was there, both the first and the vegetarian main court were courts with goat cheese as a main ingredient. I had it as the first floor and it was excellent - baked goat cheese in a velouté sauce with leek. but of course I didn't want to be a goat cheese - although otherwise prepared - also for the main course. I have no great appetit, so two go, and I have therefore decided for the first floor and that dessert (again excellent) but a greater choice would have been nice. do they offer other special diets? not on the menu - vegan or people who keep certain medical diets could have problems finding a suitable choice. but one of our group fed up salt-poor and when we asked that his food should be prepared with very little salt, there was no problem. I guess when they ask, they will come as far as possible. given the quality of the food, the prices were extremely reasonable and I would like to eat there again."

the old fire station is one of the absolute top restaurants in the aachener room. special the ground and regonal specialties convince every subtlety.

we would receive friendly and our place was comfortable. eating was very good,but for our taste and our expectation was rather little off. we may have come here with a wrong expectation.

very pleasant and friendly service without being intrusive. that was once again excellent. my wife had a decent winter dish with wesing, I a steak, both very good and inexpensive even more appropriate. they were dreamy again.

eating was very tasty as usual. a pity that you cannot change within the menu. the service was good, which in the past has often reduced the entire impression. the wine card is great with very good weeping, which is inexpensive for such a restaurant in the frame.

two restaurants, a bistro area with delicious aromas and affordable eating. also a restaurant where you can sample a slightly more expensive 5-course menu.The chef follows the principle of the 3 Flemish fines, no stars, but compose their own aromas with fresh ingredients. Very recommended in such a small hamlet as spices.

once a year my wife and I can have dinner in the old fire station. there are few menus, but they are adapted to appetit and we have been thrilled for five years. the wine map is one of the best in the region. the appetizers are often great joys and the dessers are the absolute high point. the last time there was wild and although we are not great wild friends we were very surprised.in everyone recommended.

we were very attentive and friendly this evening. each served dish was charmingly appealed and pointed to particularities. the ambiente of the modern furnishings and a discreet noise scenery produced a relaxed and cozy atmosphere.A look into the open but glazed kitchen was possible from most gasttic out, which increased the expectation to a particularly mill again....we were not disappointed. the dishes conjured in the kitchen and perfectly served were qualitatiw and tastefully excellent and not topping. we will come back with security.
