Au Petit Tonneau - Carta

We just left this small restaurant in Paris and loved the food, the service, the ambience at a reasonable price.

We had a delightful meal in this charming little bistro. Exactly what you would picture it to be, run by the same family for years. Treated us like we were od friends rather than three American tourists. Great spot for a low-key evening.

This is a must to do in Paris! A relatively small, but excellent restaurant. It is a family owned and run place, and everybody speaks English. Very popular among tourists and locals. Make sure you made reservations if you have a large group. Ver carta

We had online reservations and when we showed up the owner profusely apologized that they had overbooked and there was a mistake and that they had tried to call us. While he was genuinely apologetic, we were forced to sit alone outside on a cool...More

As Petit Tonneau was recommended to us as was making a reservation. Both were good ideas. We had escargot, salads, seasonal mushrooms and salmon. The escargot were heavenly and served as a dozen unless being ordered with the prix fixe menu (when there are six). The salads were generous, enough to make a meal or be shared. We had an excellent bottle of wine from the offerings. For dessert we chose tarte tartine served with a cream and a chocolate mousse--all were wonderful. Small neighborhood place with fine service.

This unpretentious, quaint, little bistro is tucked away on a side street in the 7th arrondissement near Les Invalides. Inside, it is cozy and welcoming with about a dozen or so tables with the obligatory zinc bar anchoring one side of the entranceway. That's well and good, as is the wait staff, but come for the cooking. The young chef here has a deft hand at preparing bistro classics from sole meunière to veal stew and I promise you that you will not depart hungry. This bistro easily can hold its own, or better, against others with longer pedigrees and known names. Ver carta
