"We went here today for lunch. We were the only people there. We asked ourselves why as the food was good. These are the reasons we believed contributed to the empty restaurant.1 Too expensive.2 Portions too big.3 Friendly waitress but she needs trainingTo elaborate - 1. the meal cost us 111 euros for lunch for two. In a rural out of the way location such as this, this is far too pricey unless the food is exquisite. The food here is good but not exquisite. On the internet it says there is a lunch menu for 20 euros. When we got there the lunch menu was 30 euros. This is misleading. 2. The portions are way too big. All courses would have been more than adequate for lunch had they been half the size. We were told we had to order the whole of the meal at the beginning before we had seen the size of the portions. Had we seen the size of them first, both my husband and I would have had only the starter and some cheese and/or a pudding. As it was we had all 3 courses as per the lunch menu and felt uncomfortably full for the rest of the afternoon. Even the coffee was too big!3. The waitress was friendly and nice but it was clear she had no training. My husband ordered a bottle of Macon Villages wine for 23 euros. The waitress brought it already uncorked to our table in a wine cooler and poured it out. We were not shown the bottle. When my husband topped up our glasses sometime later he realised we had been brought a wine costing 35 euros. The waitress realised later that she had brought the wrong wine but we were still expected to pay the higher price. As it was her mistake, we believe we should have been charged for what we ordered ie the cheaper bottle. If you are charging 50 euros a head, then the service should be good.It is a great pity that we have to say this about this restaurant as the location is lovely and the food good. But what it needs is a good, trained professional waitress (she was quite intrusive at times), smaller portions, cheaper menus and decent marketing so more people go there and the chef can be properly recognised for the service he is providing. I hope he reads this and takes note as he could be much busier than he is with just a few adjustments. As it is, we won't be going back again."
