Pretty much all of the restaurants in this area (about a street away from the Promenade) are clear tourist traps, but the other yelp reviews on this were Ver carta

This is a beautiful place along the route of the Crêtes for hearty, good food. Service was good, the prices fair. We enjoyed the pancake and cold cheese and meat.

Very good restaurant; in summer you have the luck to see the sunset over the Massif. Typical food as a flammekuche are great and waiter and waitress were friendly with us!

We spent a night at the inn between 2 steps of hiking. A warm welcome , a hostess smiling , funny, caring for us. Comfortable dormitory , a la carte menu , reasonably priced, simple and rustic decor . Spend several days should be nice. Ver carta

This refuge is one of the most interesting places to stay in the Hohneck area. I had a simple basic room, evening dinner and breakfast for only 35 euros. Two years ago, so it's probably a little more expensive. But still worth the money.Good choice in local mountain foods. You should try at least Munster cheese, preferably with a good Picon beer.Recommended

After visiting a few restaurants in the area you will see a pattern of what you usually expect to be served. Massive, heavy, domestic cuisine with lots of cheese and potatoes. Unfortunately for this restaurant we had a similar meal... just recently, where the food was a few notches better. Not that the food was bad, but it felt less made at home than our previous meal. The location is beautiful and the view is fantastic, so despite the lack of quality of food you should make a reservation to be sure to get a table for lunch if you plan to go on weekends.

Ate a late lunch here after a long time skiing on the pistes of la bresse (parking on the route des Crete avoids the hassle down in the main ski station). Skied down via 'la bouvreau' to the station just to get my day pass then stayed clear of the crowds there by staying high. As usual skiing 12-14:00 is quiet, but some places don't serve food after 14:00. The patron at this auberge was most welcoming and I had the fixed mountain menu. It was huge! A large bowl of pea soups, a massive tartiflette , salad and bread, followed by a copious fromage blanc with bilberry sauce ( all made at the farm) brilliant meal. Helpful chatty staff despite it being busy. Will be back and remember not to have b... Ver carta
