excellent meals. reasonable prices. efficient employees. we ate there twice in the evening and were very satisfied.

excellent reception with a quiet table for the 2 dogs. we took the lobster and 50 € menus that were both excellent and more than enough. as oysters were in great demand, we were also offered scallops as alternative to the menu. all dishes, amuses and sorbets were excellent.

we had the best meal of the week here, and we only make top restaurants. a quarterly restaurant, simple and charming, with a very knowledgeable cook. I had his two specialities sweet-blower (ris de veau) and prayed in. both were phenomenal, spectacular, and not...for the quality of food.

Many of the recipes could be on a menu from 50-80 years ago. That's not necessarily a bad thing when you have fine versions of Asperges Pollonaise and Tarte Tatin and a good source for fresh fish. Catering mostly to locals, at least on a Saturday afternoon, this is a fairly informal place that takes culinary tradition seriously. A very young but earnest wait staff suggests they will continue for at least another generation.Quality ingredients, a capable kitchen, a good selection of wines, the prices are a bit steep for the outcome and the ambiance. Still, they are on the outskirts of Deauville, a fairly high rent district. A good address that perhaps could use a refresh.

I firmly believe that one can never pay too much for a fantastic meal, however paying too much for something substandard is as good as an insult. Unfortunately this restaurant, on this day, for me, fell into that category. We had oysters to start, no...great magic needed in the kitchen there, they were good, though not the best. This was followed by a basically tasteless and very tough steak, although cooked seignant ; with edible mushrooms and potatoes, nothing my local cafe not could have put together for a fraction of the price. the exception was the cheeseboard....a credit to the local cheese producers..not the chef. Admittedly this restaurant is above our usual budget but as such, we expected something special; it is a charming building with a garden but furnished with basic plastic garden furniture. Heavy silver cutlery but very ordinary restaurant china. The older staff were wonderful, the younger...ones a tad snooty which always ruins a good meal. The menu was limited and very traditional with no sign of flare or imagination.
