"Today we were traveling in Munich's city centre and looking for something to eat. After reading Kiwikatze's assessment, we decided to return here. We've been through it so many times, but never walked in. There are two areas, once the beer hall and once the area with tablecloths. It is located in the pedestrian zone more towards Stachus. At the entrance there is a step, the toilets are located in the beer hall. From the other area there is a passage that is increased by 3 steps. Parking in the middle of Munich is of course not possible. Service We were greeted by a lady and accompanied to a table. The cards are already on the table and you can choose before the waiter comes. These wear white shirts and black trousers and the ladies are dressed with dirndl. The Lord came to the table and asked the drinks. We hadn't looked after, but ordered two alcohol-free wheat. We assumed that there was this in Augustinian cellar, a traditional brewery industry. In a bare sound, he said we didn't, as alcohol-free only Clausthaler. The drinks came quickly, the salads were served in advance, the food at the same time at the table and he wished us a good appetite. Then he was no longer seen. I then took the lady off the side line to order a spoon. After we sat some time before empty plates he came back and asked us if it had tasted and if we still want a dessert. The empty glasses were quickly noticed and asked if anything else could be brought. We ordered the bill, this came quickly, he wished us a nice Sunday and kindly passed us. Not so good service at first, he became better at the end, 3 stars. Food The menu has a slide cover with an old picture of the restaurant on it. There are also a daily map. There's a way through everything. We ordered a light wheat 0.5 l 4. € and a Cola Mix 0.4 l 4.20€ , the brewer's goulash from the cow from the pre-alpenland, cooked with our precious material, with root vegetables, semmelknödel and herb salad 13.80 € and the plate meat “Munich Art” from the shallow beef tenderly served with fresh mackerel. Drivers friendly they are not straight when you look at the price and quantity for the soft drink. We can't find it right. The plate meat was very delicate and you could crush it without knives, taste class in a delicious broth. This was a bit more intense for us. The goulash still had beautiful pieces of meat in it, was not cooked, but nevertheless tender and juicy. It was really nice spicy tasted with light pepper taste. The root vegetables were the same as the other dish. The two Semmelknödel had a nice consistency and tastefully gave it nothing to mecker. The food tasted very well, except for the salads, 4 stars What we had not liked when we had seen how the Kaiserschmarrn was made. From a large bowl it was placed on a plate and then pushed into the microwave and made warm. He was swung in the pan for a short time. What we ask ourselves, why does he come into the microwave, nothing for us? Ambience An old guest house with high ceilings, much dark wood, but all beautifully lighted. Due to the size and number of tables we could already imagine that it is very hallowed here when it is full. Our table didn't like us so much, especially since so much was free. We were put to the end, next to the places where they sort the used plates, put new plates to the servier cutlery and to the desserts department. The tables are covered here with beige fabric table cloths. There is an artificial flower that was missing from us, salads and pepper mills, beer lids, tongs, menus, baskets with crushes and a plate with a lot of cutlery and napkins on it. At a small table so much cutlery, we would like to see only the cutlery for the number of guests, who knows who already touched it all. The front area, beautiful old inn, our area not the best choice, especially since so many tables were still free. Three stars. Cleanliness In the inn, the area we could see, there was no objection. The toilets don't go at all, especially because there is also a lady who likes you if you don't put money in your plate. It might be better to clean the toilets than to be sure that you leave money. Guest room 5 stars, toilets 1 star – total award 3 stars"

We were more than ready for some delicious food and refreshing beer after a walk over 10,000 steps in this special city. Simply the best - a traditional, fantastically decorated venue with excellent service. Very recommended!

Visited this nice place to have a dinner with 4 persons. Staff is really friendly and helpful. The restaurant back garden is really beautiful. Ordering beers (very nice beers) and the food was a little difficult as the menu was in German. But everybody was...helpful and we ended up with some nice German food.
