"A very nice, small but perfectly formed snack bar next to the younger childrens) playground in the Memorial Park. Could certainly be useful after a visit to the William Gregg leisure centre nearby. Only a few outdoor tables no indoor area at all) so weather dependant. Been meaning to visit for a while, and seeing on FB that they may close in October if business doesn't pick up, we had to go and so glad we finally did twice within a few days so this review covers both trips! A nice varied menu with lots of vegetarian choices and very reasonable prices kids picnic bags £1.50), adults £2.50), ice lollies 20p £1.50), homemade cakes, jackets, paninis £1.50 £2.00), cheesy chip cobs £1.70), etc). On our first visit we had cheesy chip cobs which were very nice and went down a storm with the kids! And on the second we were tempted by the paninis and they were all delicious Brie and Mango Chutney being our favorite though. Youngest had a kids picnic bag which was great value at £1.50 and included a sandwich 2 slices), drink and a packet of crisps all nicely packaged in a brown bag. And while the kids play there are lovely views so its a win, win all round. Go and support this local business! Enjoy!"

Thank you so much for the beautiful Victoria Sponge you made for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. It was perfect, and Mum really appreciated the thought that went into making sure that her food intolerances were catered for so well. X

A lovely new owner for the snack shack, the prices are unbeatable and really affordable, the service is chatty and friendly. Give them a chance, they are just starting out and have yet to get everything in place yet, big plans coming and awesome ideas for the Heanor memorial park area. Perfect place to grab an ice cream/ice lolly and have a walk in the sun around the park! Cakes a lovely, shall hope to try the eventual gluten/wheat free? maybe? : see you again soon!

I thought more people would have contributed to my initial review by now! Regardless, we visited on a very busy day when there was an event taking place at the nearby Memorial Park. I am happy to report that the restaurant was thriving with many hungry customers. During this visit, we only had ice lollies and homemade cake. I tried the Lemon Cake and Carrot Cake, both of which were delicious and served in generous portions. I will definitely be frequenting this place more often during the summer. It's always a pleasure to support small local businesses, and this one has definitely earned my vote.

I noticed that this restaurant was open today after my kids had been swimming and playing at the park. We decided to have lunch here and were pleasantly surprised by how affordable and high-quality the food was. We were very impressed and will definitely be returning next time we go swimming. The kids' meal deal included a sandwich, a bag of Walker's crisps, a fruit shoot, and a biscuit for only £2.50. The adult meal deal included a cheesy cob with any filling, a bag of Walker's crisps, any hot or cold drink, and a delicious and massive cupcake. The staff were also lovely, which was a bonus. The only downside was that they used plastic spoons for the ice cream cups.

"we enjoyed another very pleasant dinner at the Dog’ in pentrich recently. it is a very civilized but relaxed escaping area, and the type of place where people are miles for, for the culinary experience traveling and with good ground. eating is good. the dining room is spacious, contemporary and beautifully furnished with a relaxed ambiente. also the adjacent bar area is very cozy and cozy. we were warmly welcomed and immediately shown on our table. the service was attentive and pleasant, without being overlaid or intrusive. our meals were very pleasant and we enjoyed the selection of things we had (start, head and dessert). However, it seemed to be some unconsistencies with a portion size. with the appetizers the leek and the potato portion was very small a piece laek about two centimeters long filled with cheese and in a sea of sauce to convey the grasp of “more”. the crispy szechuan cauliflower and aubergine, on the other hand, contained large parts of the two components of the teller. similar to the net, the green thai chicken contained three very large portions of huh in different shapes: a large chicken breast as the main component of the Thai chicken shell, accompanied by a huge serving of shredded chicken in rice, and a huge Bao beer filled with a large piece of baked chicken. while the various components were delicious, it was just chicken overload, almost like three main dishes as one, and much too much. the same applies to the puddings we have chosen. the dog inn trifle was a huge bowl with lemon-rossel sponge, with white chocolate-creuzard, and celestial gel and sorbet. the yorkshire rhubarb cheesecake, on the other hand, was a very small roll of cheesecake with a puppy game of rhubarb sorbet and a few pieces of poached rhubarb. our meals were certainly delicious, and we enjoyed them. the hanger steak was cooked nicely after a discussion about it; it was clearly stated on the menu that the hanger steak was ‘Served ‘Pink or well Done’, but we were informed that it could not be ordered well. which condition is then on the menu? the dog is worth looking. it is in the beautiful and historical village pentrich, on the b1016 between the towns ripley and alfreton in derbyshire. we're coming back."
