Beautiful setting on quiet street, delicious traditional French dishes, excellent service. We had lunch not dinner, prices were moderate.

We were having trouble getting seating outside seating for 4 on Rue Montorgueil so we started looking down the side streets, and we were really glad we found this place. It wasn't cheap but the room was full of old world charm and I had the best meal of my vacation. The waiter either didn't speak English or was happy to work with my lousy French, can't be sure, but he was very friendly. The view wasn't as nice as the other places in the Lex Halles but I'm willing to bet the food was better and probably a much better value.They were out of Lapin (Rabbit) when we got there but the duck and Beef Bourguignon were both out of this world.

We walked past Aux Crus de Bourgogne earlier in the afternoon and really liked the look of the red velvet booths and overall ambiance, so we returned that evening for dinner. Ambiance, wait staff, menu and wine list were all fine - the food itself was just mediocre. The foie gras wasn't as good as usually found in Paris (served with two pieces of thick bread that was softly toasted, not appealing.) I had the rabbit which was just OK as it was covered in a heavy provincial sauce with small olives (full disclosure - i don't enjoy olives). My wife enjoyed her boeuf bourguignon but wasn't over the top about it - the highlight of our meal were the mashed potatoes. The aperitifs were particularly...
