Aux Delices Normands

Food is good (I ordered pumpkin creme-soup, and all that bread stuff is also worth to try). My Italian friend said that coffee was excellent.

We found by chance this location but it has been proved a real nice place to take the breakfast or to go for a good and nice coffee. All our stay in Berlin, 5 days, we have been passed every day and it has been always a pleasure to be there.

Our review is actually for the Aux Délices des Normands located at Brandenburgische Str. 32, 10707 Berlin. Excellent organic pastries, breads, cakes, coffee, and teas. We only ate breakfasts there so don't know what other meal options they offer. Nice staff.

The bakery adjacent to the restaurant is very good, and sells excellent pastries, breads and savory baked goods. The restaurant itself is hampered by slow service, but they have very good salads (large sizes) and soups. Their daily specials are particularly good. NB: I went to the branch in Neue Kantstrasse. The service (it was a Saturday) was totally unbothered, slow, couldn't operate the till, was unhelpful and not at all friendly. Maybe it's different during the week but it put me off from going again. A little bit more effort really might do the trick. There wasn't much left to buy, so I got a bottle of French wine and some okay (but not more) tasting pieces of apple tart. Not really a recommendation from me, I'm afraid.

My husband and I love this bistro. Adjacent is one of the best patisserie in town. We have been coming here for years for their mousse chocolat and fruit tarts. French pastries are intense and flavorful, rather than sweet and heavy like their German and American counterparts. Then we discovered the Bauernfrühstuck (farmer's breakfast).- lightly browned potato cooked with egg and bacon and served with seasonal salad topped by a delicately tart dressing and 2 pickle halves. The dish comes with my favorite(!) - baguette with butter from Normandy.
