a bar with no pretension, which has reserved a nice surprise with its menu at 13 euros offering a qualitative overview of the specialties of the region: melon and bayonne ham, paella, Basque cake. a friendly waiter for a frankly gustative kitchen at a very reasonable price. a adviser for a lunch that you will not regret.

despite a delicious sangria and a good location on the square I get back to abasury of this passage to the françois. The service is poor or even aggressive. I hesitated between anti-Paris racism or a dirty talk but forced us to take our glass up on the pretext that a group (which never happened). I'm laughing at our table. We came in a rainy day and other places around were not friendly at all. In here we found a cosy and warm welcome from the waiter (which is really good looking as well!)We had 1 menu du jour, 1 tarte and 1 omelettes: all of them very tasty and fresh! Being in the centre of Bayonne the prices are extremely cheap compare to the other places around and we enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant too.Basically: top!

A Basque concert is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the halls - so we're sure we're having dinner here tonight. We'll settle around 6:00 to get a fresh beer. We ask for the map, the waitress answers "I'm the card. I'm offering you our local beer?" "Well, come on!" A few minutes later, she brings us the note, without asking us if we want something else. What? 10€ the two beers of 33 ml. and ben we changed our plans, and we went to eat socowa.

A small atmospheric restaurant at the bottom of the hill near the market. We went this Boxing Day for lunch. The town was a bit dead with quite a few shops and restaurants closed or not very busy but this place was full.We were hovering round the menu when two French couples came out saw us and told us to get in quick before the table they had went as the plat de jour was very good. So we took their advice and were pleased we did.The plat de jour was very good particularly the veal escalope with sautéed potatoes. Two of our party opted for the chèvre salad which they thoroughly enjoyed. Everything was very good quality and value. The service was friendly and attentive.Glad we went in.
