"We should have had some food, but drinks and meeting people were the main focus of the day. What a great place to socialize! The music was not too loud, there were lots of friendly people, and everyone in our group agreed that this would be the perfect spot to spend an evening in Tynemouth. It may get busier on weekends, and it is on the smaller side compared to other venues, so it fills up quickly. It's best to arrive early to secure a seat and enjoy watching the world go by. The staff were extremely friendly and exceptionally cheerful for a busy pub. We will definitely be returning as often as possible, just to socialize, of course."

Go through Tynemouth quite a bit but always seem to miss this little gem out, had a lush time and the beer was excellent. Good vibes, decor and staff, beer good too. Will be back Ver carta

This pub has a unique charm all its own. It truly embodies the essence of a traditional pub, where you'll find people mingling in groups and pairs. The interior is a delightful mishmash of eclectic décor, giving it an authentic, beer-centric pub vibe. While my friend and I opted for coffees (not very adventurous, I know), the impressive array of beer and whiskey options caught our eye.

We visited Tynemouth for a week and the Barca became our local for the duration of our stay. We loved everything about it, the atmosphere, the deco, the staff, the locals and the range of beers, ciders and cocktails. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The locals were too. Us and our 2 dogs were made to feel more than welcome with plenty of dog treats given to our girls from staff and locals. Our only regret was that we couldn't become permanent locals! We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.
